If you have 5 minutes, it may save you some cash. Best buy does not collect tax on these particular gift cards. I think other companies may. Sometimes my credit cards will give extra bonuses if I spend money with Best Buy. So instead of directly paying cricket, I get the gift cards, get some bonuses, and load them to my account. Save anywhere from 10-15%. Plus Best buy has a rewards program, and every now and then I get 5 bucks in rewards. Avoid the cricket stores, they will charge you to load money on to your account/ activation fees etc. buy phones from apple / best buy and activate on your own. Use the app only. Cricket service has been exactly the same as At&t but at half the price with more features. Gift cards get digitally (make sure to get the digital version) sent within a few minutes to my email. Takes seconds to copy & paste the code into my account. Cricket uses At&t towers. They are the only towers that I can get service from both at work / home. Only advantage to directly paying a carrier would be if your credit card offers cell phone protection. In most cases, pre paid phone plans (this includes cricket) are excluded.

I have had good luck through the years purchasing gift cards at discounted rates or using points from Best Buy. It is a great way to get discounts on my monthly phone bill. Hopefully Best Buy will continue to offer discounts in the future

There are a lot of competitive prepaid programs out there, and there is no "one size fits all". Depending on how you use your phone, and where you live, you should do your homework. But for s 5 phone group, its a pretty good value, considering the coverage is AT&T, since Cricket is owned and operated by AT&T.

I have been buying this card consistently since I signed up for the Cricket Wireless service. It's very easy to buy and use. Not once has it given me trouble every time I apply it. The best part: I can order this without having to leave my main work room. It's also instant when it arrives. Strongly recommended to anyone who has the Cricket Wireless service.

Works great. After purchasing the digital card, my email with the card information came relatively quickly. I was able to submit the code on My Cricket app and the payment went through immediately. I did not have any problems. Another plus: You do not have to worry about loosing the card.
