Amazing Cooker, but the 10-quart Size is a Monster

The Crock-Pot 10-quart Multi-Cooker is their newest and largest offering in their multi-cooker line, combining more than a dozen functions into a single cooker, making this a 1-pot device that can bring your meal from prep to cook to serve. This is not your grandmother’s Crock-Pot. And I will say that the 10-quart size is a monster. More on that shortly. The Multi-Cooker offers the usual slow cooking capability that Crock-Pot invented with standard “low” and “high” settings, but can now take your entire meal thru its entire cooking cycle. Start with the ability to brown/sear a cut of meat to seal in the juices during cooking, move on to sautéing the vegetables and aromatics to cook with the meal, then reduce to slow cooking and leave while you’re at work, coming home to a fully-prepared meal. For meals not looking to slow cook, for example a pot of chili, use the Multi-Cooker to brown the beef and onions in the pot, then switch to “Simmer” mode. All modes come with an ability to set a timer for cooking, with the device automatically changing to “Keep Warm” mode at the end of the cycle. If you don’t have the 5-6 hours to simmer or slow cook a meal to completion, the Multi-Cooker includes several pressure cooking modes that accelerate cooking times exponentially. For example, a 5-6 hour meal can be reduced to as low as 1 hour without sacrificing meal quality. If anything, I found that it enhanced the meal, pushing flavors from the sauce or aromatics into the food under pressure that accelerates cooking time and keeps meats juicy. As an example of pressure cooking, I was able to cook a full meal of Honey Soy Chicken in less than 15 minutes. Three-to-four minutes browning the chicken and onions, then less than 5 minutes cooked under pressure, followed by about 5 minutes simmering. The chicken came out tender and juicy, and my picky son even said it was good. It actually took me more time to prep the meal (cutting the chicken, dicing onions and garlic, measuring out the ingredients, etc.) than it did to cook the meal. The Multi-Cooker will also work as a rice cooker, quickly your rice then switching to a “Keep Warm” mode for use all day. Item of note: Make sure you follow the instructions for rinsing the rice. The starch will come out of the pressure valve and bobber valves with the potential of causing them to stick over time. The Multi-Cooker also comes with a steaming rack, allowing you to steam vegetables while also cooking your main course, or just steaming them by themselves. Other options on the device, which I have not or may not ever use, include the ability to make yogurt, boil water, and sterilize baby bottle parts. Cleaning is easy using the removable cook bowl, which is non-stick coated and dishwasher safe. I found, however, the size of the bowl took up almost 50% of the bottom rack of my dishwasher, so I just ended up hand-washing the bowl. It’s a Monster: The one down side to this size Multi-Cooker is that it is a monster. As mentioned, this is their largest Multi-Cooker (10-quart) and is more than a foot wide across the top. I’m usually only cooking for 2-3 people, so cutting recipes to reduce portions ended up not leaving enough juice or product in the bowl to cook properly. Up side is that I now end up with a lot of leftovers. But I usually cook large batches of chili when it gets cold, so this will be excellent for containing my full pot of chili without worrying about it boiling over. For comparison of how large this is, since just saying “10 quarts” is hard to quantify, I included photos of the Multi-Cooker with this review. One shows a 6-pound boneless pork shoulder in the cooking bowl, with a regular-sized fork standing up in the bowl for size comparison. There is also a photo comparing the overall size of the device with a standard 12-ounce beverage can. Bottom Line: I love this device, despite the monstrous size. I’ve been able to reduce the number of pots and pans I would usually use, thanks to its 1-pot cooking design. It has also given my cooking a lot more flexibility, whether it’s the ability to put a pork shoulder in when I leave the house & have pork carnitas ready when I get home, or to reduce meal cooking time by bringing a meal that would take over an hour to cook down to a matter of minutes. All of which done with a single pot that is self-contained and amazingly easy to clean up. I highly recommend this device with the one caveat of make sure you’re picking the right size for your family needs. If it’s just you & your partner, then you may want to look at a smaller size (this is offered in 4, 6, and 8-quart sizes). But if you’re cooking for a family, or cooking for Sunday sports get-togethers, this is the perfect device for you.

Crock-Pot® - 10qt Digital Multi-Cooker is an excellent addition to our kitchen. We were looking to buy a multi pressure cooker and bought Crock-Pot 10qt digital multi cooker as it has so many features and eliminating the need for multiple cookers. It is really a big pain point by using the slow cooker, fast cooker, fryer while cooking for a party and we were spending a lot of time to clean after cooking. It is huge with 10qt which allows us to cook and feed for 13 people. Crock-Pot® - 10qt Digital Multi Cooker offering 9 different functions Pressure Cook, Slow Cook, Sauté, Brown/Sear, Boil & Simmer and Steam. It came with the recipe book. It is very easy to hand-wash. We have cooked BBQ Chicken, Chicken tenders and it came out really crispy and tasted really good. We have been using the Crock-Pot® - 10qt Digital Multi Cooker every day to cook various food. We have tried a few recipes provided in the cookbook and came out really well. The 15 one-touch meal settings are excellent options that enabled us to prepare a variety of dishes and keep food at the desired temperature until ready to serve during parties. This Crock-Pot 10-quart express slow cooker features a progress bar which is another nice feature, so you know when pressurization is complete. We are impressed with results came out of this multi cooker. I can tell you that this pressure cooker exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this cooker to anyone and it will be definitely a great addition to their kitchen.

When I hear the name Crock-Pot, I automatically think of the long simmer slow cooking of a pot roast. A meal that you prep in the morning and 4-8 hours later enjoy. Although you can still do that with this 10qt Digital Multi Cooker, now you can do even more in a fraction of the time. This is essentially an all in one cooker as you can brown/sear, saute, steam, slow cook, boil, sterilize, pressure cook and using this as a warner all in one huge pot. With the small cooking book it comes with, I didn’t even know until now that you could make yogurt and desserts with something like this. have heard of the other “Instant” branded pressure cooker and actually found more recipes and suggestions searching for that brand, but they are essentially the same, so there are tons of things out there. My first meal was spaghetti and by far has been the best spaghetti I have ever made. I browned the ground beef and sautéed the vegetables in the pot, added the sauce, a little water then the noodles on top and minutes later I had a meal for 5. This spaghetti was like twice baked spaghetti or day old leftover spaghetti, where the sauce is in the noodles. This is certainly the only way I am doing spaghetti from now on. Other meals I have prepped have all been moist and the flavor sealed into everything in the pot. One thing of note, most recipes give you a time, like 10 minutes. This is the time you set the pot for, not how long it will actually take to cook. The timer for cooking doesn’t start till it reaches the proper temperature/pressure. This can take an additional 10-15 minutes and if your recipe says to vent naturally instead of quick release, that is another 10-15 minutes, so plan accordingly. The timer, once done counting down, beeps and starts counting up. This allows you to see how long it has been waiting. Regardless, it is still faster than slow cooking with similar results. With this huge 10qt pot, you should easily be able to feed the family and have leftovers to spare.

This product was shipped to my home with massive debts in the side. No damage to the packaging so it appears as though it was factory packaged like that. When returned to a Best Buy location, there are no more available to replace it and nothing at all comparable. I am still in possession of an overpriced door stop with no idea where to move forward. Very dissatisfied with CrockPot.

I have been using an electric pressure cooker for several years now and have adapted a great deal of my recipes to it. With an electric pressure cooker and an air fryer, I almost dont need the rest of the kitchen. This one has a huge 10 quart capacity and easy to understand and use presets as well as manual settings. Just about anything that you have been doing in a standard Crock Pot or other brand slow cooker you can do in an new Crock Pot Multi Cooker in a fraction of the time or use it as a slow cooker for those favorite recipes you just wouldn't do any other way. You can saute and brown your meat and vegetables for some of the recipes with many steps to them and then finish it off using it as a pressure or slow cooker all in the same appliance making cleanup a snap. Construction of the appliance seems to be of high quality materials and the removable liner/ cooking insert is non stick. I would have preferred simple stainless over non stick, but thats me. The lid, gasket and liner are dishwasher safe but clean up rather easily by hand in the sink. I like the fact that the steam release switch and exhaust port are separated by some distance so burns will never be an issue when doing a manual release of stem on certain recipes. The huge 10 quart capacity does come with a price, in the fact that it eats up a lot of storage real estate, so keep storage in mind while considering this multi cooker. I find it functions as well or better than the leading IP brand we have a smaller version of. You will wonder how you ever did without one of these awesome appliances. ;)

Beware! The knobs on the lid have rusted off after less than 2 years. I contacted the manufacturer but they do not have replacement parts. They suggested I buy a new express pot.

Counter space in the kitchen is always in short supply. As is storage. The Crock*Pot Express does the work of three or more; slow cooker, pressure cooker, steamer, and searing pot. The menu driven control panel is very easy to use. Built in timer for effortless cooking. I've used a manual pressure cooker and a few crock pots. I'm able to port my recipes to the Crock-Pot with no problems. GREAT Features: * large removable inner pot is lighter than a stone crock, and its non stick * release of pressure is accomplished by a turn of a knob, and safely ports the pressure and steam to the back of the pot through the BOBBLER( jiggler) * recipe booklet included provides great examples for use * includes steam basket * sure locking lid, optional clear (non pressure) lid available for purchase * timer function makes cooking fool proof

A huge pressure cooker, and worked well on a 10 pound pork shoulder. Entire piece fit into the cooker without even cutting it smaller. Also cooked a smaller recipe with pasta, ground beef, pasta and vegetables. Great size and I liked the ability to sauté the vegetables with the big pot, and not worry about splashing etc. If you think this is too big for smaller dishes you are wrong. Cooks great on small, medium, or large dishes. I have a 2 quart, 4 quart, 6 quart and now this 10 quart pressure cooker. This is my favorite!
