Customers enjoy the Express 6-Quart Easy Release Multi-Cooker's ease of use, faster cooking times, and great value for its price. Many appreciate its convenient size and the tender meat it produces. While some experienced issues with the sealing mechanism and steam leakage, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. Easier cooking, easier cleaning
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A crock pot is something we have used on and off for years. I say on and off, because once we put it away, we sometime forget we have it. But this one is a bit different. First of all, it doesn’t have that 20 pound ceramic insert like most. It uses a light weight metal non-stick pot that is easy to clean. No more soaking the ceramic pot for 3 hours to clean it. One word of caution though, as with all non-stick surfaces, be very careful how you clean this. No harsh abrasives or steel wool pads. Another thing I like about this is that because it’s also a pressure cooker, it has a metal, locking cover. I have broken a couple of glass lids in the past, so this is a little more klutz proof. As far as cooking goes. It’s excellent. Careful using the high setting to save time though. It cooks a lot faster than my previous crock pots so you may not need as much time. We overcooked the first dish we made following the suggested time from a recipe book we have. Back to the non-stick pot for a moment. One recipe called for sautéed onions to be done in a pan and transferred to the crock pot. Instead I just sautéed the onions in the crock pot saving time and another pan to clean. I have not used the pressure cooker features yet, but plan to try some recipes soon. We have been using this appliance a lot lately since we are home more often and not eating at restaurants. Being able to just set it up and let it cook all day is perfect for these times.

Decent
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works fairly well, but the area for you to cook in is actually not very large. I would recommend buying the largest one you can.

Works great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this multi-cooking machine! I am so excited to try out the many recipes that came in the little recipe book and trying some of my own fav recipes to see how much time I can save because this can cook at high pressure in a short amount of time. I have already tried the egg bites and there are a few kinks I need to make so it is to my liking, but that's due to me getting familiar with how this works and not the machine itself. For a first timer, I think the egg bites came out pretty good. I also cooked boneless chicken breasts on high pressure and steamed veggies right after and it did not take long to cool down in between cookings. The veggies came out so perfectly. The carrots and green beans were soft, but not mushy like when you boil on the stovetop. I love it! The chicken breasts were so moist and soft, that the leftovers are going to be for lunch with a salad. I love how this one cooker can cook a variety of different things! One machine that does it all eliminates having to buy different appliances. How awesome is that! It was also so easy to clean. The non stick cooking pot feels so well made and high end. It is not like the normal pot for the rice cooker, it is way better. It's def going to take a lot more using it for me to familiarize myself with it and work out what recipes work with what settings, but I am happy to do so. I am so excited to try more of the recipes that came with the cooker. It actually came with meals that I would actually eat and not far out there meals that I would not normally cook for my family, so thats a huge bonus. I'm impressed at how this cooker can make yogurt and cheesecake and am so excited to try it out.

Received defective product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed. I have wanted one for a while so I finally splurged and got one. The instructions tell you to do a water test before using to get you comfortable with it. I tried that but it would never build up pressure. I guess I got a broken one but it was disappointing nonetheless. I'm giving this 2 stars ONLY because the return process was easy and I was able to get my money back.

Really Impressed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a cheaper brand pressure cooker and I had no idea what I was missing. This cooker has so many options for both regular and pressure cooking. I love the fact that this can go really fast or slow. An important feature to me is to have a slow cook low temperature setting. When it comes to tough meat, nothing beats a true low, slow cook. Since this is the Crock Pot brand, they know how to do that well. Now, when it comes to pressure cooking, I am not only impressed with the features, but also the recipe book. In playing around with the cooker, I made both the lasagna and the macaroni and cheese recipes. I was blown away by how easy it was to make the mac and cheese. It was a handful of ingredients, no draining of the pasta, and a total time of about 15 minutes from assembling the ingredients to plating the food. In the end, it was higher quality than anything that comes out of a box and also easier. As for the lasagna, it was the easiest recipe I have seen for lasagna. Simply make the sauce (which was so good I ate the leftover sauce by itself), then the cheese mixture, assemble, and pressure cook. That recipe did require a springform pan, which I was easily able to find and totally worth it. Since I am by myself, I do not want a family sized portion of lasagna. This made about 4 servings and tasted great! I am seriously impressed with how easy it is to use the cooker and to make tasty meals. In addition to everything above, the overall cooking controls are easy to use and read. The pot seems like a higher quality non-stick metal. I also like the steam release system. It is much better than my old cooker. So far the only challenge was that I learned the hard way to loosen the gasket prior to the first use. It was compressed onto the ring and was leaking on my first attempt. A quick adjustment of simply moving it around instantly fixed it. Overall, I am really happy. This thing speeds up time, but maintains quality, after a long day at work.

leaks a ton
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pot leaks a ton of steam out of the sides. I was trying to cook brown rice and followed the directions included in the box exactly, but due the all the steam being let out of the side, my rice wasn't thoroughly cooked. I made sure that the sealing ring was in place and that it was closing properly.

An appliance sure to make tasty tender meals!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned this 6qt CrockPot Express Easy Release for about five days now and I’ve come to love how good the food tastes. The meat is very tender and throoughly cooked and retains all of its flavor. This slow cooker uses its built up pressure and then that built up steam, resulting from the pressure, slowly cooks your food. You simple add a cup of liquid, which could be either water, wine or chicken broth and that will provide the needed steam to cook your food slowly. This is a handy appliance, that allows you to prepare your meal and allow it to cook while you’re at work or just doing something else. You can set a timer to start while you’re away from home so that your food is done when you get home. It not only can cook your food, but it can keep your food warm until you are ready to eat. This is my first pressure/slow cooker so I had no idea what was needed to prepare a meal from start to finish. In my opinion, this is not an appliance for a simple meal prepared by a non-cook. I am far from a cook. I need complete instructions to boil water, yet I was able to follow along to a point, but it was with a bit of a fuss. If you’re a person that cooks on a regular basis or even someone that cooks occasionally, you’ll love this CrockPot. I made some babyback ribs in which the meat just fell off the bones. I was able to taste all of the seasoning with every bite. I’m happy that the CrockPot Express came with a small cook book with some great recipes included. I am looking forward to making many more tasty meals in the near future. If you’re considering purchasing a slow cooker, then the 6qt CrockPot Express Easy Release is the one for you.
