Worse than the normal Bluray - save your money.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't bother buying Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in 4K/HDR. It is full of noise and is very poorly done. Just stick with the Bluray. I love this movie ... but I had to turn the TV's noise reduction up to high in order to even get the 4K/HDR version to be viewable. The noise is pervasive in the actor's skin through huge sections of the movie. I could tell the HDR was better than the standard Bluray - but this was a poorly done 4K/HDR movie. Other 4K/HDR movies look fantastic on my setup. LG OLED65C6P OPPO UDP-203 4K HDR Bluray player

doesn't work
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the disc is inserted into my perfectly functional player, it tries to load and then is ejected, with the following message: "Cannot play this disc. The disc does not meet the specifications." All other discs work fine in my player, so there's something definitely wrong with this one.

Poor quality printing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie itself gets five stars, but the steelbook is poorly printed and the front cover looks like a bootleg. The back cover is bbn ok at best. There was no care put into the designs and as a collectable item it's not worth getting.

The video on this 4K is terrible!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether I got a hold of a bad batch of this title due to poor mastering or Sony doesn't care and simply puts out junk to take advantage of the latest technology, either way it's horrible QC on Sony's part. I've not ever seen a film (even going back to the old DVD days) this grainy. The grain on the actors faces and clothes in particular is so distracting that you give up trying. When the image of the 4K version is actually worse than the DVD version, then I won't rate the audio, etc. any better. I'm on a new Panasonic DMP-900, OLED (current firmware) and have viewed many other new 4K titles that present perfectly with nice tight and sprite HDR images. What's worse, this is the second copy of CTHD I've tested. The first one I returned (and I had further tested that one in a Samsung 4k player at my local Best Buy Magnolia center before I took it back to the counter for an exchange and so I know it's not my player or TV). The standard Blu-ray copy of CTHD that I own is mastered/presented the way any modern film should be -- crystal clear. Fortunately, Best Buy will take this 4K version back. Folks, unfortunately until Sony gets its act together, I can't recommend this title in 4K. I don't know what 4K devices (if any) the blu-ray.com or other BB reviewers here use. Any reviewers's claim of a great 4K image has not been borne out on my system. The video 4K presentation of this film is hands-down UNACCEPTABLE.
