I've always considered Crucial as one of my go to memory providers.  Always reliable since DDR memory became a notebook standard.  When I buy a machine that is upgradable, I always buy the minimum memory configuration and then upgrade the memory to the max that can be installed (and this varies by manufacturer).  I recently acquired an Acer i9 Predator notebook with an Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU.  When I got it the fastest DDR5 memory available was 4800MHz.  This 32GB kit is 5600MHz.  I've configured the machine with Oracle's Virtual box, I plan on running SQL server on one VM and the second VM as a Visual Studio Development machine.  So reliability is my key concern.  Then performance, I expect to get both. After removing 10 star screws, the bottom of the notebook was easily removed.  I removed the 2 DDR5 modules in the machine and added the two in this kit.  I turned the machine over, and powered it on.  I had to wait almost 2 minutes before the machine rebooted (I'll admit I was concerned, but recalled when changing ram sizes on this notebook, it does a full memory test (not displayed) before restarting.  And then a brief notification that 32Gb was detected in slot 1 and 3 (considering the machine only has 2 slots, this was interesting). Then I went back to Windows 11.  I then launched task manager (Ctl+Shift+Esc), selected memory and I could see 32GB installed, running at 5600MHz and hovering over slots used. A popup box is showing 16GB in slot 1 and 16GB in slot 3 running at 5600MHz.  Yea, all looks good, I start the 2 virtual machines and and let my test app run (exercises DB read/write/updates).  After an hour, with the CPU fan cranking up and down, I am convinced the system is stable.  Over 90K records in my DB added/updated. This was an excellent performance number, about 5% higher than I got before the upgrade to this faster 5600MHz memory. My system seems reliable, it has no problem running either Google Chrome or MS Edge with numerous tabs open.  But it ran my rigorous test apps with no issues.  A nice upgrade, no issues. Excellent!

I upgraded an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 that I recently reviewed, from 16GB to 32GB. It shipped with Hynix DDR5 at 5600 mhz. I ran some memory tests before and after and the speed difference was very slight at best. Of course, that's because both are specced the same. The Micron memory was the faster of the two in the benchmarks. When using memory intensive programs like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and so on, you will see a difference. Particularly when you have several large files open, dealing with a large image with many layers, adjustment layers, video rolls and effects. Anything that's memory hungry. I edited 41 32.5 MP RAW files in Lightroom Classic and exported them with a 40% size reduction. With 16GB it took 44 seconds and only 2 seconds less with 32 GB. Not much difference in that case. Same for rendering 4 minutes of 4K 60 fps to 1080P 30 frames. Also 44 seconds. However, when I opened up a large file to do my band a new flyer and layered up several images, I could tell a difference on how fast Photoshop worked when switching between images. It wasn't night and day, but it was easily noticeable. So, speed increase will depend on applications and what you are doing. If you are going from slower memory to faster, and more memory, you will see more of a difference on everything. Especially if you have a bunch of tabs open in Chrome. As for installing the memory into a laptop, that can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some have panels that are easy to remove and some you have to remove the entire bottom cover. And the latter can be tricky if you don't know how. You can usually go to the manufacturer's website and find out how to upgrade the RAM. You may also need some specialized tools too remove Torx or security screws and plastic pieces to pry the bottom off without damaging it. Note that you cannot use DDR-5 RAM in a PC that uses DDR-4. Ram has a lifetime warranty. I've used Micron memory over the past couple of decades a few times and never had a problem with it.

Although RAM may not be the most exciting upgrade for your PC, the right RAM can make all the difference in your system. Crucial has been around for quite a while and I have used their products in the past with success so I was excited for the opportunity to test their DDR 5 RAM. I upgraded my laptop ram from "first generation" DDR 5 4800 to the Crucial DDR5-5600. I am going to split my review between my own observations and the results of my benchmarking. For my observations, I'll be honest, I didn't expect a huge difference because I already had DDR 5, but there was an observable performance jump. Boot time was not signifiantly affected, although it did seem slightly faster by maybe a second or two. Once booted in, my system was notably performing better. Everything just seemed to run smoother. Games launched a bit faster, and I did note an FPS boost in the games I tested. Overall, the system was much smoother, games launched slightly faster as well as programs. Now for the technical stuff! For testing I used the 3D Mark Steel Nomad test. My system had 16GB of RAM so I performed 3 tests, a test of the original RAM in my system, a second test with one stick of the Crucial RAM (16GB), and a final test of both Crucial sticks (32GB). To be fair, the third test was to benchmark the full upgrade kit, not to compare to the original RAM. Another thing to note, RAM upgrades generally don't push the needle far when benchmarking so the numbers aren't breathtaking, but they do show a significant performance boost for just upgrading the RAM. The results (pics below) are as follows: Pre Upgrade Score: 2031 Crucial Upgrade 1 Stick: 2033 Crucial Upgrade: 2 Sticks 2044 I was really surprised to see even just a slight upgrade in test 2, and the final upgrade shows a significant performance boost Overall this RAM is pretty fast, I am very happy with this upgrade and will continue to recommend Crucial to my friends. I have nothing but good things to say about this laptop memory. It's super-fast, nearly the fastest on the market. I think I've seen some RAM at 6000MT/s, but it's not very well accepted by PC manufactures yet. So, realistically, you won't find a faster and more usable speed of RAM. This Crucial memory is widely accepted in devices. I tried the RAM in my Dell XPS 15 laptop at full-speed success. And currently, it's in my mini-PC by Beelink (SER7) running happily at full-speed again. On both devices, the PC automatically recognized the memory and was using full-speeds and dual-channel operation. I can't ask for more than that. Easy peasy. A few sides notes that you might care about: This model of RAM comes packed with Mircon memory chips operating at C46-45-45-90. Neither of my test devices were equipped to attempt overclocking or timing adjustments settings. My Dell laptop is an Intel-based product, while my mini PC is AMD. Both worked flawlessly. I only ran memory tests in my mini PC's BIOS, and after three runs, everything was perfect. I figured I didn't need to keep going.

I installed this pair of memory chips in a small desktop computer I purchased. (Note: this kind of memory chips is most commonly used in laptops, but also gets used in many small form factor mini PCs). It was very easy to replace the default memory chips with this new pair, which doubled the memory capacity and significantly improved performance. Replacement of the default memory chips was a very cost effective way to boost the power and value of my investment in the new computer.

I have a newer Dell latitude with Windows 11. I previously had 16 GB of RAM on my laptop. I have an Intel Ultra five processor. With all the extra security software running in the background, my computer struggled handling day-to-day tasks and other Microsoft programs. If I opened up Excel or Adobe the processing times were unbearable. For someone using their computer to work on 10 hours plus a day this is unacceptable. I purchased this ram 2x16 GB chips and install on the same day and it made my computer two times as fast. I don’t know how I survived on 16 gigs ram before hand. This was well worth the investment. if you think about you need more around you probably do and this is a good place to start.

I am very happy with the increased performance with 32GB, and I am thrilled about getting the product at an awesome price! We checked the motherboard compatibility on the Crucial website, and the installation was very easy after watching a couple of laptop-model-specific videos on youtube. Why not? It kills me that I hadn't done this earlier. I dont think many will notice right off the bat, but I've run so many different applications at the same time and everything is faster and my machine runs long without lagging (over a week on) and just crushes with speed. Got this on sale and Best Buy installed it, darn near $100; and the change from 16 gb is awesome. Decided to upgrade after getting a machine with a NVIDIA 4070 GPU and it seemed a shame to have only 16 gb of memory.

Great RAM haven't had any issues. It was super easy to install and has worked really well from gaming to video editing.

Does what it says, it’s 32 GB it’s 5600mhz. This was the perfect answer for an HP Laptop as they don’t support EXPO settings in BIOS and rely on the RAM to have JEDEC defaults.
