    Installed in an older laptop from 2018 when I upgraded the ram. Inserted into a gen 3 slot and gen 4 is indeed backwards compatible.

    fast an easy to install, , as a recommendation if you are using for a new windows installation, load the intel rapid storage drivers, you will need them because windows installer will not recognize the drive

    I honestly don't know how well this product works, because despite the official Crucial website saying this item is compatible with my laptop (Asus ROG G531GT), it does not work. And there are others across the internet who it doesn't work for. I can't remember all of the exact technical reasons, but something in the hardware of this is incompatible with some hardware in my specific laptop. And I didn't find out until the return window has closed, so I'm SOL
