Fabulously fast and efficient SSD. While load times aren’t as instantaneous as a PlayStation 5, with this ssd in my laptop computer, games that previously took 38 seconds to load no load up in 7 to 12 seconds. Huge improvement. Comes with a thermal sticker but I still added a heat sink because I know how toasty a laptop can get while gaming. Installation was a breeze, and my Alienware recognized it immediately and I was ready to go! Read/write speeds are great. Really amazing how tiny this SSD is. It’s about the size and weight of a stick of gum. I grew up in the 80’s and remember my dad replacing a hard drive on our old Packard Bell 286. That hard drive was the size of a paperback novel and weighed close to 3lbs. Times are a’changin’! For those tempted, just want to let you know that the read/write speeds for this won’t meet the needs of the PS 5’s expansion slot. For that, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Anyone looking for a lot of storage space on a wafer of a card, however, would be wise to snag this. It’s really an affordable investment to increase your enjoyment of gaming as well as productivity apps.

As always you end up thinking a 2tb ssd is plenty of space for your OS and you transition your data drive to your spinning disk. Then comes a couple games where you want to take advantage of faster load times and suddenly your “os” drive is full. That or you realize you really should put those Adobe files on SSD when you’re working on them. Either way this is a great secondary drive. It’s not so large that you end up storing every bit of data you’ve got on it, but enough space you’ve always got room to work. Looking at the specs you’ve got the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface which provides sequential read/write speeds of up to 5000/4200 MB/s. Higher end PCIe 4 drives hit upwards of 6600/5000 aka closer to what the PlayStation 5 recommends but the objective difference is pretty minimal once you get it into a PC. With PCIe 5.0 forthcoming I’d lean towards this drive for the cost/benefit ratio and then upgrade later once you move to your next motherboard. Otherwise this is a welcome upgrade in most laptops we have in our house and will probably be my first choice when paying family members’ computers.

The Crucial P3 Plus 2TB NVMe SSD has been a blast! I ended up upgrading the SSD on my business laptop. The days of SATA are almost gone, with their being more and more faster options available. Transfer speeds are great. I tried movie files, and large applications. The transfer peaked around 792 MB/s and maintained a speed of 759 MB/s. Installation was also easy. The drive is keyed so you can’t install it in the wrong slot. Crucial includes an extra screw in case you need one. Once installed I, did a complete installation of Windows 11. The installation was fast. No problems with partitioning either. I was able to use the entire ssd. While using it for work, all of my applications loaded quickly. I have plenty of space for large video files, as well as image files. There is also an included 5-year warranty. I have no issues with Crucial and their support. I've used many of their other products, and have been greatly satisfied. I will definitely be adding an additional M.2 in my additional SSD slot in my laptopl.

Lots of Storage Space with Higher-End Speeds

The Crucial P3 Plus 2TB SSD is a faster SSD drive (not the fastest), and I verified that it reached the advertised speeds with CrystalDiskMark benchmarking software. When compared to a lower-end SSD drive, which might only get 560MB/s, the P3 Plus is about 9 times faster (900%). The drive included with my current model DELL laptop was 20-25% faster than the P3 Plus, though. During everyday usage, I doubt one would notice a 25% difference so I'm only taking off 1-star from the rating for this. Having the 2TB of storage allows me to have room on my (gaming-capable) laptop, such that when I download large games I don't have to worry as much about whether there is enough room for them. It can also be used to make local copies of files one might ordinarily store on external/network-drives (videos or other content one might not normally have room to store on a laptop's SSD). Pros: -It's a relatively fast SSD, speeds as-advertised -2TB means Lots of storage space -Geek Squad can install it if you're not comfortable -Price for the 2TB model is in the more affordable range Cons: -Although Faster than some, it is not the fastest SSD out there

This replaced a 1TB heavily accessed drive in my Desktop and the difference is very noticeable. I use it for storage and a separate install base for games. Both have provided me with better performance than the drive's predecessor. Besides the mentioned gaming, I use it consistently to access sounds and samples in production. I literally have hundreds of GB worth of sound effects, video effects, presets, and samples that I need to access quickly and repeatedly. Once a drive starts slowing down, it can make the tasks very cumbersome. So far, this has not been an issue. I can zip right through multiple files and folders with no lag and keep the workflow moving at the pace I need. That alone, is worth its weight in gold. For gaming, I prefer to keep installs off of my primary drive. Steam, Oculus, Epic, etc. are all kept o this drive. Once again, no lag or extended loading or booting. I'm aware it goes hand and hand with RAM and GPU, but having all three at their best has created a much more enjoyable experience. Between work and the family, I like to jump in and out of quick sessions of gaming. When one component stalls that process, it's irritating. This drive has only maximized that goal. Another great bonus is the transfer software. I haven't used it, yet, but it's good to know it's provided in the event I need to repurpose the drive. I'd rather use the software specific to the product that go outside and hope it functions properly. Easy to install with great performance. Just what I need.

Super satisfied with this purchase. The ssd arrived right on time, as promised. Installation took less than 10 minutes. My storage space tripled and now my boot speed is faster than ever. I high recommend this drive, especially at this price point.

2TBs will give you some breathing room

This will be my 3rd M.2 Crucial SSD Drive and as ALL of my past Micron/Crucial components rangin from RAM to SSDs to M.2s, the P3 does not disappoint. With games and programs and digital camera pictures/videos inflating almost as fast as our economy, the older 500gb HDDs are no longer cutting it. Some newer FPS will eat up almost 200GBs alone. Downloading them even over a Gig fiber connection is a PAIN, but the 2TB P3 is giving me ample space as a storage/game drive as it is a companion drive to a 1TB WD Black M.2 SSD (for the OS drive). The P3 is packaged like most other M.2 SSDs and Crucial, like always, include that tiny philips head screw. The black PCB matches my motherboard and if there wasn't any Crucial branding on it you wouldn't even notice it nestled in place. Playing games like Forza 5 or COD off this drive have no discernable impact on speed. It never ceases to amaze me that this much storage can be packed something about the size of stick of gum (especially when you consider that there are 4TB monsters out there) and with the speeds they offer at that. Transferring about 500GBs from a external 1TB SSD drive took just under 40mins. Although it could've been a little faster as it was in the background while I was doing some other work on the computer and did not actually see when the transfer was complete. I have mentioned that cell phone pictures and videos have become ridiculous in size?... especially when you have an active kid and both parents always snapping pictures of... I'm glad to have the space. I would PAIN me to see how long it would take to off load that drive onto a platter disk ... on an older windows machine. Somewhere in the not too distant future, 2TB will as inconsequential as 2GB drive is today and maybe then that will be the base storage size for Apple/Samsung phones. But for now my home media server which is 12TB in a RAID 1 across HDDs is where a large portion of that 500GB will eventually migrate to (thankfully in the background). But 3TB of SSD on my primary machine gives me LOTS of breathing room for the time being. Seeing these small numbers like 1 and 2 TBs make me think of when 128MB HDDs were considered MASSIVE and "No one needs that much disk space". I'll think the same when petabytes come along.

Installation was easy as could be. Setup was a little goofy but that was more about my laptop than anything. Once that was sorted I was able to install my OS without issue and clone my old drives over. System and drives are running wonderfully. I have never had an issue with Crucial products

Lower Cost, Higher Value Deal in SSDs

Laptop drive suddenly died and needed an urgent replacement. Couldn't wait on shipment from an online retailer, so this was available nearby at a brick-and-mortar. Crucial is known for being more cost-effective than more deluxe brands like Samsung. The average user won't notice the speed difference between an 860 Evo and this P3 Plus. For most home scenarios, the premium isn't worth it. Highly recommend!
