Lucky I guess
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been super lucky so far. I bought this one back in February 2021 and still running strong. When I first got this I noticed I was getting as close to Gen4 speeds that Gen3 could offer. Still going strong with blazing speeds. Bought a 2nd one for a fair price on black Friday because backups are always nice.

The Necessary Upgrade to Boost PC Performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This SSD features PCIe M2 form factor with NVMe Gen 3. Enough with the jargon, it’s basically a fast data storage. It’s rated at 3400 MB/s read with 3000 MB/s write. As with other M2 SSD, the transfer rates is affected by how much data you stored in the SSD. Other feature to note is that it has hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption to protect stored data. M2 SSD is truly a wonder of the 21st century. It is meant to take your PC to the next level. If you have been using hard-disk drive, you will experience overjoy as this SSD will transform your PC to give you boost performance and you will get very significant increase in performance, such as much shorter loading times and faster transfer rates of data. M2 SSD is used to be expensive but it has become more and more affordable. More importantly, it is also more reliable as the SSD does not have any moving part unlike Hard Disk Drive that can experience mechanical failure. Installation is easy just like installing any other M2 SSD, much easier than installing a Hard Disk Drive. You just need to make sure that your PC/ laptop has the slot available for the SSD. Please remember that this is an M2 SSD, which means that this is an SSD in M.2 format and you would need an M2 slot available unlike the typical NVME SSD that comes in older generation of laptops and PCs. You can refer to your laptop manual or your PC motherboard manual to check whether your computer supports M2 SSD. This is very important because you do not want to get this SSD and found it incompatible to your PC. If you want to replace your older drive and make the M2 SSD as your primary drive, you can download Acronis True Image for Crucial software. There is also a utility software, the Storage Executive from Crucial, to monitor your SSD and performs firmware update. It’s highly recommended to download these softwares. In general, SSD gives you much shorter loading times. The difference between one M2 SSD and other M2 SSD in terms of loading times is fairly negligible. Transfer rates are different story, though. I don’t have time to compare the performance of this SSD to an older M2 SSD that I have, however, this SSD brings you the general performance that you would expect from an SSD. If you have no prior experience using SSD before, you will be very happy with this SSD. If you’re a serious gamer and are the sort of guy who likes to do benchmarkings, you would know that there is almost always something better out there in the market. However, the difference in terms of performance in real time gaming should be negligible enough unless you are a very demanding player. Is this SSD worth it? Well from the price I paid for M2 SSD 2 years ago, yes. This is the best time to get M2 SSD.

A great and fast SSD
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Fast easy to install and worth the price that I paid for it. I have no complaints about the quality of the SSD. Only time will tell if as good as the Western Digital unit I also have. Cons: Crucial has a confusing naming strategy for their drives so read carefully if purchasing one. I highly recommend this one.

Good SSD at a Great Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had never heard of the brand, but I gave it a shot given it's price point compared to others. I've been very impressed with the speed and reliability of this SSD. Had no problems installing it on a ASUS board, Installed Windows 10 on it, upgraded to 11, and no problems whatsoever.

Great budget NVME drive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Crucial P5 is great budget NVME drive. While some on forums have been confused by the naming it is not a "PS5" cable drive as it is only gen 3. But for those looking to add another terabyte to a PC or other compatible device (possibly even Steamdeck next year) this is a great option.

A little extra space
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this during a sale of the day promotion to replace the old 256GB Samsung EVO. While I've got plenty of drives, having a little extra room on my C: Drive more of a creature comfort over a necessity. I really cant see any difference in speed since they were both M.2 drives. Good value for the money on special.

Fast and reliable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast and reliable! Only weird thing going on is that I have two of them installed and both work perfectly fine and are being used, but oddly when I run benchmarks only one will show up as active. Does not affect performance, just the benchmark only. No concerns, it’s probably just a configuration setting in the benchmark that I need to tweak most likely. Boot and load times are both significantly improved from my previous M.2 drive (patriot scorch 512gb) Overall very happy and would definitely recommend!
