Cheaper this time around?

Really just bought this one for an aesthetic change. Seems like it was a mistake. This plate warmer seems to sizzle, or theres a drip, something about the initial brew is noisy and sounds faulty. Not very happy.

Easy to use and clean. Temp settings keep the carafe HOT, which is great. We brew 6-10 cups in a pot per day...so this has gotten some heft use. Not crazy about the charcoal filter, but we replace as we have hard water and the softener kinda works. Cleaning is long, but throughout and we don't seem to have scale buildup or issues. Would recommend.

I grind beans, and I find that I am using 20% fewer to brew a better cup. The water reservoir is in the back, where the lid hinge is located, and that makes filling from the carafe a bit awkward.
