It will make arbitrary noises after it is already done brewing, but I do like the fact that it has a tone to let you know the coffee is done and another tone to let you know it's turning off.

I love that I can adjust the strength of the coffee, can hear the machine brewing and can smell the aroma as it’s brewing! Tried another coffeemaker and after 2 mos returned it and brought this again! Easy to make coffee. Easy to clean up.

Being able to program the start time so coffee is ready when I get up is a bonus also. I had my last 12 cup Cuisinart for around 8 years, so I'm good for a while in coffee world.
