I rarely write reviews. I only write this one after 2 years (2010-12) of dealing with my Cuisinart, both of them! When I first used this coffee maker - I was in love! Worth every $ I spent & I am not one who would have dropped $80 on a cpot 3 years ago. I have changed my ways - given the right maker, I might be willing to sell my husband to pay for it! But, it has to be consistent & this one isn't. Note- if the filter basket is not "clicked" into its spot - it will cause an overflow into the water well - coffee grounds & all. I assumed this is why my first pot started taking an hour to brew a pot. I cleaned it per instructions, repeatedly. Still, an hour. Called manufacturer & they were great about sending me a brand new machine (within first yr.). 2 months later, it started again. So, here I sit, 2 years & 2 coffee makers later & I am 50 min into my wait for a pot of coffee. I wanted this to be the best coffee maker ever...and it was for about a month or 2 but, with a repeat of bad behavior with the 2nd Cuisinart, I am inclined to say that it is not.

My wife uses this everyday and loves it. It looks nice as well.

Makes a great cup! No messes, looks great too! Highly recommended!

My second one. As good as the first one which lasted about 8 yrs

This coffee maker does make good coffee, BUT it's done before you can finish cleaning up the mess from spilled water and coffee grounds. What a nasty design. The no drip carafe is not that at all and the fill area is so badly located at the rear of the machine's top that water spills over the side, into the filter area and all over everything. On top of that the carafe cannot be completely emptied into the reservoir without holding the carafe above the lid, about 10" away from the very small hole. It leaves about a full cup in the carafe, unless you spilled it out already. The LCD digital clock is NOT backlit and so cannot be read except by bending over and staring at it closely. I called Cuisinart Customer support about it and they said the clock is like that to save money on the design. Thanks. The programming control switch is also hard to read without bending over. The pretty picture on the box gives no indication this coffee-maker is so hard to use and live with so my advice is to just move on to another brand. Certainly, not up to Cuisinart's usual standard of quality.

it makes a nice pot of coffee in no time just what i was looking for good job

We enjoyed it until it started making noises. Cleaned it when the light came on,yet after 13 months it will not work. Will be seeing if Best Buy will send it off, if not a decision has to be made if it is worth sending in, paying shipping and being with out a coffee pot during the time. I guess it is a throw away item. Too bad because it did make good coffee.

I love the looks of this coffee maker. It makes a great cup of coffee. But this is my third Cusinart Brew Central Coffeemaker in five years. I make one pot of coffee every day. The water pump began leaking on the first one. The water pump stopped working on the second one (after less than 6 months of use) Yet I just bought a third one - what's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

My wife and I like a good cup of coffee, fast. When we first brought this home and set it up, all was well.. (Other than pouring the water into it is a royal pain) Brews fast for a pour over unit. After about a year of use, we find that the clock will not set for programmed start. The pause and pour does not pause any more and yes it is clean. Don't get me wrong, it still brews a good cup of coffee fast however all the wiz-bangs quit. We are thinking of replacment however are in no rush.

I bought this for my office and everyone loves it.

Easy to set up and program for everyday use. Keeps coffee hot unlike other coffee makers which keeps brewed coffee warm. Somewhat pricey but worth the price.

We bought the 12-cup programmable coffeemaker – DCC-1200 - and now on our third. The first two were replaced under warranty because of defects. After receiving our third coffeemaker we were told we would have to pay to have the defective unit returned. Postage to return would cost around $20. And if we do not return, then no warranty on replacement unit. Since the unit has what seems to be a known problem with the on/off switch turning off during brewing, I think Cuisinart should pay for return shipping. We have been a loyal Cuisinart customer over the years owning numerous products – and have always been impressed with the quality of the products. Until our experience with this coffeemaker.

This is a good coffee maker, other than the fact that the top is really hard to get off which I would assume will loosen up over time. Would definitely buy again.

Here is the real story about this coffee maker folks. I bought it for two reasons, the first being it's appearance and the second was the brand. I thought the $100 was a good investment in a quality brand. This is my second unit and I can tell you to run from this machine. For some reason the electronics only last about 7-8 months. What happens is the unit will not stay powered on. You start it and it will begin brewing then shut off after 20-30 seconds. At first it is only an occasional problem happening every 5th or 6th use. Eventually it will fail to stay on for more than a second or two. Just this morning I had to restart the machine 9 times for it to complete a 6 cup pot of coffee. I have had it. I can't believe I was foolish enough to by a second one of these, but I really thought it was a fluke that the first unit was so problematic. Now I have done some research on the internet and found that this is normal for this machine. I hope this review helps some of you from having to deal with this. Trust me, the people who have written positive reviews here have not had the coffee maker for long.

This unfortunately is our second one within less than a year. It makes great coffee, but it is not durable. We make a pot of coffee on average per day. Both units we owned have done the exact same thing. It will say it is brewing, but it is not doing anything. I do not recommend this product.

This coffee maker does everything it says it will. I wish the water reservoir were easier to fill though.

The coffee is great and I love that you can set the temperature too. A couple design issues. The reservoir to fill the water is very narrow so you have to be careful when pouring the water in. When you open the top to throw out the grounds the condensation from the lid runs down the back and gets all over your countertop.

This is probably the best coffeemaker we have ever owned. I am getting ready to purchase another simply because I would like a new one.
