Customers are saying
Customers highly value the Grind & Brew 10-Cup Automatic Coffee Maker for its excellent coffee quality and ease of use, with many praising the delicious taste and convenient timer. However, some users find the grinder difficult to clean and maintain, citing challenges with its design and the need for frequent disassembly. The cleaning process itself is also a point of contention for some customers. Despite these drawbacks, the positive feedback on the coffee's taste and brewing convenience remains prominent.

Best grind and brew made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second one of these we've had in the past 6 years, and this one is far superior to the previous model. Cleaning the grinding chamber is a little cumbersome, but still worth it.

Happy to return it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found it impossible to not make a mess with this machine. Every part that required hands to touch created a mess. 1) The grinder never ground all the beans. Furthermore, the design of the grinder cup/lid allowed the remnants to collect and clog itself. To make it worse, the steam created during brew made the grounds all sticky. I cleaned the grinder after each use, and cleaning it created a mess. 2) The carafe pad is unheated and the thermal carafe itself barely managed to keep the coffee warm, if at all. I would fill the carafe with hot water before turning on the machine as recommended- the effort was futile. 3) The carafe lid let the coffee out in only a trickle... except for the first blop of coffee that came out that somehow managed to splash all over the counter each and every time. 4) The filter cover was also messy. I would rinse it off and think it was clean and then, as I would move from the sink back to the maker, nasty coffee remains would inevitably drip onto the counter. Overall, I believe this machine is too high maintenance for something that should simply just grind and brew a hot, tasty beverage. I generally like Cuisinart products, but this device is an abysmal failure. I would not recommend this to a friend and am plotting revenge on friends who didn't warn me.

Couldn't use it for purpose bought from day 1!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this maker was going to be easier to make coffee with the built in grinder...not so much! Half the ground beans stay in the grinder so you have to open it up and physically take out the grinder, clean remaining grounds into the filter. The coffee tastes ok, not overwhelmed. The thermal carafe doesn't keep the coffee warm very long-hot plate turns off right away. Cleaning it is a pain! You have to wash the grinder/lid, filter and lid and the pot itself. I wanted one of these for a long time and I was let down when I got it. Now the on/off button doesn't work so we have to set the programmer to make a pot of coffee. Hmmm...what's something good about this product? Easy to fill and looks sleek but neither make a good cup of coffee!

Horrible Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the carafe is okay. It keeps the coffee hot but does have drips on the counter when pouring a cup. As mentioned by others, the steam enters the grinder chamber creating mud with the residual grinds. These annoyances were tolerable, but after about 4 months the coffee maker began "finishing" before the water chamber was empty. At first, it was 1 or 2 cups left in the chamber, but it gradually got worse eventually only emptying about half the water before turning off. We had to turn it back on 2 or 3 times to get it to finish a full pot. We tried cleaning it, replacing the filter, and removing the filter entirely...nothing worked. Looking online for a solution, we saw that many others have this same problem. We're going back to a typical drip machine with no thermal carafe. Horrible product, horrible purchase. Do not buy this model!

Stay away!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is a disaster on many levels…….when it works. It’s operation is not intuitive, the carafe doesn’t pour without leaving a mess on your countertop, the grinder stopped working after one year and now it has stopped working altogether.

Poorly designed, DO NOT BUY THIS!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DISASTER!! RUN AWAY!!! Purchased in 2012, found it overflowing within a few months. The lid has a ball bearing that gets stuck after a while. Their customer support suggests that you soak it monthly in a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water to de-gunk it. This "feature" should be advertised. I don't think you should have to do that much maintenance to a kitchen appliance. Customer service will send you a replacement lid and brew basket if you have your serial number (conveniently located in hard to read impressions on the BOTTOM of the unit). Then with the new unit, you can do your monthly vinegar soak. They need to get this disaster OFF the market and replace it for existing users. Put me in the "never Cuisinart again" category.

The bells and whistles don't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased ours last month, switching from a pod-style Cuisinart, which was a pain due to the need to run vinegar through so frequently. BUT here are the problems with this Cuisinart: 1) the coffee in the grinder needs to be cleaned out after every 1 or 2 uses because moisture/condensation gets into it and creates a cement barrier of sorts, which 2) makes the brewed coffee weak and 3) makes it a pain to clean. 4) The carafe lid has malfunctioned 3 times within 1 month, leaving coffee grinds and water all over the countertop. I understand vinegar is supposed to help which brings us back where we started. Switching back to using a separate grinder and a simple coffeemaker. Will then pour my freshly brewed coffee into my overpriced Cuisinart carafe to keep warm.

Did they even test their design?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought I would spend a little extra for a better coffee maker. My mistake. It's poorly designed. Emptying used grinds results in a nasty mess. The coffee is not brewed very hot and pouring the coffee out of the carafe is a joke. The coffee trickles out of the top and you will never be able to empty the carafe with the top on. I don't want to have to disassemble and reassemble my entire coffee maker just clean it and pour a cup. Sorry I bought this thing.

Unusable in 8 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1. If left plugged in, grinder goes on/off throughout the day. 2. The main on/off switch is not functional because it does not turn on the machine when you want it to...grinder starts grinding even with the "grinder off" switch is lit. 3. In the small chance that the coffemaker starts the brew cycle, it stops somewhere in the middle, even with plenty of water left in the tank. Will be buying a separate grinder and coffemaker next time.

Cannot recommend this coffee maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do not recommend the Cuisinart 10-up Grind and Brew Thermal Coffee Maker (stainless steel). I have had this coffee maker in stainless steel for 6 years. I was very pleased with how it functioned and its appearance. Then, two problems occurred. (1) It began leaking water under the unit when making coffee. (2) The grinder basket's underneath bracket/screw came loose, so it would not fit correctly. I could no longer use the grinder function. I do not expect the coffee maker to fail after only 6 years. And, of course, Cuisinart customer service would not replace the unit. After reading other negative reviews on the current Cuisinart coffee makers, I bought a different brand that had outstanding reviews.

Coffee Flood
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker was purchased due to the built in grinder. It is a serious waste of money. It is overpriced and leaks continuously. It has always been problematic when removing the pot prior to it finishing the brewing cycle completely. In a short period of time, it has started to get only about 70% of the brewed coffee into the pot with the remainder going all over our kitchen. Find another product and save the paper towels!

Can't find one thing I liked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We don't grind our coffee beans so grinder was not needed. Coffee pot was smaller then usual and water would come out of the overflow. The overflow gauge was on the side and couldn't be seen. Couldn't set the timer and would turn on the grinder everytime I tried to brew coffee. Once coffee was brewed it did not stay hot because the burner would turn off. The clock was real faint and couldn't read. It was the most expensive coffee maker available at the time so I thought it would be the best but I was way off. Didn't like one thing about it and returned within 30 days.

2 reasons not to buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1. 7 parts you must clean after each use, grinder, grinder top (steam gets residue wet, very messy), filter, filter basket, filter basket top, caraffe, caraffe top. 2. refurb unit has 90 day warranty. Mine died after 5 months. So I am out of luck.

Avoid this brand.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy any product from Cuisinart. Had it 15 days and it will not work, keeps beeping , figured out the top was not closing. It was 1 day past the return period, so talked to Cuisinart and they will replace it if I pay to have the new one shipped and pay to ship the old one back. Never again, no more of this brand ever in my life.

Stopped working after 6 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have read the warnings from other reviews - this is a terrible coffee maker - the grinder is incredibly finicky and when we switched to just brewing with ground coffee, that capability also broke. DO NOT BUY.
