I don’t like it. Cuisinart spice and nut grinder is a lot better than this one. I tried to grind almonds. It didn’t do the job well. Also the motor is weak.

I really like this grinder. I have had 3 different brands and this one grinds the best, is the easiest to operate, and has all the features you can want in an inexpensive grinder. It operates with a touch button and auto cut off. It has multiple grind choices and cup number choices. It also is quieter than the others I had which included a more expensive one.

For the price, you simply can't beat this grinder. It has, and continues to serve us well. I would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone.

    Don't buy this grinder

I have used the grinder about five times now, and I have discovered a new problem every time I've used it. The first time, I tried a small amount of beans, and the grind consistency was horrible - some very fine pieces mixed with large chunks. No matter how many times I continued to grind, it didn't improve. So the second time, I tried filling the cup to the "max" line. When I ground the coffee this time, it spilled over the edges of the cup and ended up all over the place. So now I only fill it about halfway, and that seems to work ok, although the grind consistency is still terrible. The third time I used it, I noticed that the contact in the lid is starting to rust. The book says that all removable parts are dishwasher safe in the top rack. Apparently they aren't water-safe, however. The fourth time I used it, I started to notice dishwasher soap inside the clear plastic on the front (where you can't get to it to clean it). Again, problems with the term "dishwasher safe." I guess it's safe as long as you don't mind soap residue on your appliances. The fifth time was the kicker. I ground my coffee, then went to remove the cup, and it was stuck. It unlocked, but the blade seemed to be somehow suctioned onto the base, and no amount of tugging and pulling could get it off. After going online and reading that many other people have had the same problem, I called Cuisinart customer service. They tried to troubleshoot but didn't seem to be aware of this problem. I received this grinder as a gift and didn't use it for about a year, so it is more than 18 months old now on my fifth use, which means it's out of warranty. So Cuisinart didn't care that it's defective and that I've only used it 5 times. They said I could buy a new one. Right, like I'd buy another one. I finally managed to remove the cup by putting ice cubes inside to loosen up whatever was stuck, so I can still use the grinder, but the benefit of being able to remove the cup and store it in the refrigerator is gone. DO NOT BUY THIS GRINDER. IT IS DEFECTIVE, AND CUISINART DOESN'T CARE!!

mine still works like new after 3 months. the removable grinding container is easy to clean, the cover on the other hand is a little tricky. now i just wipe it out with a paper towel. it looks great in my coffee nook.

    nice looking but garbage

I have purchased two of these grinders. On the first the motor ceased after moving and unpacking / using for the first time in a week. I figure it may have been dropped, but I had only owned it 4 months. The second lasted me two months before the coil in the motor burned out this morning. They look great but are a real pain to keep clean, and coffee grinds make their way over the top of the cup when you use it making additional mess. I would strongly suggest looking else ware unless you want a coffee grinder paper weight in a few months.

I purchased a $75 Krupp coffee grinder @ W.& Sonoma and it lasted 7 months before it quit. In a fit of anger and in an emegency purchase I went to Best Buy and replaced the Krupp with a Cuisinart. It's solid and dependable...doesn't have all the bells and whistles...but I like it.

    A Disappointment in Engineering

I have owned two of these. Fortunately, I paid for neither. This unit will fail. 1st of all, the grinding cup will eventually fail in that you cannot disconnect it from the base, making it very difficult to clean. 2nd, the motor will fail after limited use. If you have a household of coffee drinkers, this unit won't last a week. I'm currently looking for an alternative myself.

This grinder looks good, has a good name, but I didn't find it very use friendly. Unless you want to constantly lock and unlock the grinding chamber, you need to pick up the unit to pour the ground beans into your coffeemaker. But the unit is so heavy and boxy, it's not easy to manage in that way. The smaller, circular type grinders are much better.

    piece of garbage product/horrible company

After only two months of use this coffee grinder began acting crazy. As soon as we plug it in it runs when it's supposed to let you press the cap to make it pulse. I called the cuisinart "customer service" line and they will replace it but there is a $10 charge PLUS you have to pay for your own shipping. How ridiculous is that? You are better off spending another $15 (which you will pay anyways between their "charge" and shipping costs) and buying a better product.

Don't let the brand name fool you -- this piece of equipment is not as reliable as some of their other appliances. I have gone through two of these grinders. The first one failed after one use. I thought that was fluke and exchanged it for another one. That one failed after two uses! Of course, the two uses had six months between them so I can't even exchange it. I bought this grinder for occasional grinding -- what a disappointment.
