After buying this one, I feel bad making my husband suffer through those for 30 years! Depending on the brand they dripped, overflowed the filter or made lukewarm coffee. This is a real coffee maker and doesn't do any of those. The coffee is strong and very hot - almost boiling. We've been using it with the permanent (no paper) filter and it works great.

This Cuisinart has been great replacement relative to cleaning. I just cleaned it for the first time in 4 months after daily use. It brews well, it’s easy to use and it’s convenient. My only “con” is that right out of the brewer, the coffee is not hot enough. It needs to sit on the heating plate for a bit to come up to heat

Makes a strong brew and the features are great.

It is definitely a strong brew for the buck so I totally recommend this one as it is very reliable, customizable, and doesn't cost hundreds of dollars for a good cup of coffee. Only thing I wish this specific model had was a thermal carafe. Other than that I highly recommend it for anyone family size or even individual use.
