Maybe I added too much water to the batter? I tried again with less water and the batter doesn't fill all the way and you end up getting an incomplete waffle. I'd rather get the old school filp around one, but theirs not much room in my kitchen to get one. clean up is easy and it only takes a few mins to cook a waffle.

The Best Cusinart Vertical Waffle Maker

Not only that, I like that I can pour the waffle mixture directly into the funnel. I'm very pleased!
