Quick back up and shutdown
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this particular unit for over a year now and it has come in handy. It's great for a standard power supply at 300-400 watts. Anything more than that and I"d go up to a more powerful model. It does what it is designed to do and the back up feature is handy too. It comes with the driver cd and cable. This way in a power failure you can save what you're doing and shutdown. I put in a 550 watt power supply in my computer and I still had 15-20 mins. of power with this unit. Plenty of time to back up what I was doing and shutdown. A+

great Value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product for the price, works as advertised. The only pro I found is that if you operate two devices that draw too much electricity like a PS3 and XBOX 360 in the battery protected outlets, the device complains and most likely will stop working. This is while electricity is available. Just make sure not to exceed the wattage in the battery protected outlets. I connected my PS3 to the battery protected outlet and the rest to the regular surged protected slots. I also used the other battery protected outlet for my DSL router in case of an outage, I can shut down my PS3 gracefully and still have wireless internet. Overall great value!

A must have for any desktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you value your desktop you need one of these. Power surges in my old house have wiped out 2 hard drives before we got wise and started using these. They also give you time to properly shut down your computer when the power goes out.

Good UPS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good price, easy to set up, performs as described. However, since I've used it for only about a month, I'm not sure of its reliability.

Not bad - for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a small IT company and have purchased quite a few UPSs over the years. This UPS is okay for basic use. I purchase them when they go on sale, otherwise it is worth the extra $5-$10 to get an APC. I currently have this product in my AV closest wile I have an APC on my PC with an APC power conditioner after each. When the APC goes offline there is a single adjustment on the conditioner. When the CyberPower goes off-line, the conditioner goes haywire trying to regulate the voltage. I have also found the CyberPower batteries die after ~2 yrs where the APC last around 3. Again, okay for the price for non-critical appliances.

Works as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for use to provide UPS for control and motor in a wood pellet stove rated at 5 amps. Would not work with stove's igniter heating element activated. (Swapped it out with a heavier unit I was using for the computer.) Unit gives a constant alarm when over tasked just like mentioned in the owner's manual. Also mentioned in the manual but not in the advertisement the caution, the unit is not designed to handle heavy loads like vacuum cleaners. Rated at 425VA, once an not expect this unit to handle amperage above 60% of rating as a rule-of-thumb. I've had it protecting my desktop, monitor, cable modem, and WIFI router with no issues.

Better than APC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our company has purchased over a dozen CyberPower Back-up Systems because they work excellent and are wall-mountable. Their main competitor (APC) is not wall-mountable. There are two sloted holes on rear of CyberPower, very handy for hanging unit on wall. We install these in CPU, phone, or any IT rooms. CyberPower price/performance ratio is much better than competition.

worked ok for 3+ years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked fine to power a cable modem and wireless router. I also wanted to power the CPU just to shut it down fast. Worked ok to smooth power blinks and keep the cable modem & router on line for over 3 years, then went bad without warning. Battery is OK, something else failed. Got only 97V at the battery outlets. Tests showed everything was "OK" when it wasn't.

So far so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an impulse buy when I purchased a new laptop. I needed something better than that old power strip and this was next to the laptop display kiosk so I grabbed one. I didn't realize it was an eight outlet unit until much later so that is a bonus for me. I have heard about reliability problems with this manufacturer but so far so good.

Severely Underpowered
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to ensure that my computer doesn't go down with brown outs in the coming summer months. Plugged the following items into the 4 battery plugs: Desktop PC, Monitor, Speakers & USB Hub for mouse/keyboard/printer. As soon as I boot my computer the battery tanks and starts beeping. I finally had to move the Monitor off battery and onto surge protection only to even get my computer to boot. Since then, it's still killed the battery a few times when I am playing a game, assumption is that the graphics card being used causes the power draw to increase. There's also no USB connection on this battery allowing you to check the status from your computer. As you can't power a single PC and associated peripherals with this battery backup, and as other users have reported it won't power a single 40" TV, I'm not really sure who would find this desirable. Of course the blue shirt at the store told me this would work for a desktop computer, and since it was cheap I just trusted his answer rather than pulling out my phone and checking the reviews. When will I learn.

Peace of Mind
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this back up as the power was always going out where I live and I got tired of not being able to shut down my computer properly. So far this product has done everything as promised. I would recommend this product to anyone! It's a great buy!!

Good buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightning causes power interruptions constantly in the rainy season here in Florida. I put the modem, the router and the phone system on the UPS and my downtime has been greatly reduced. I know it's abit of overkill, but considering the low price, the item will probably pay for itself by reducing labor costs in a few months.

Read Carefully
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as advertised. The model is CPS425Ga NOT CPS425SL. I bought 2 on sale @ $29.99 since the batteries died in two of my existing UPS's. Now I know why they were so cheap. The 425Ga has no communications with the computer and therefore cannot perform an orderly shut down when it runs out of juice. I have a 550SL and it works well. I think the Ga must have been designed for ancillary things like cable modems, routers, switches, printers, speakers, etc, although you would never know it from reading the product description. If that's what you want it for, they are OK. If you want to keep your computer from crashing and trashing your system, make sure the UPS can talk to the computer.
