Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the 750VA Battery Back-Up System's great size, reliable battery life, and overall performance. Users appreciate its ease of use, excellent value, space-saving design, and adequate surge protection with plenty of outlets. While some find the plug spacing a bit close and the unit somewhat heavy, the noise level is generally acceptable. Overall, the positive aspects of the product appear to outweigh the minor drawbacks.

I wanted to try and alternative to APC. This was a bad decision. Battery only lasted a couple months and despite how you configure the software, it still alarms with a power outage and does not silence alarm when power returns. frustrating with the frequent brownouts we experience.

Hello chv3, It sounds like this is just not the correct unit for your needs. This UPS only offers battery backup with it's standby topology. When it sees a power event, like a brownout, it will simply disconnect utility power and switch to battery mode. Frequent use of the battery will prematurely deplete the battery. If you get frequent brownouts then a Line-Interactive UPS that offers Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) would better serve you as it can boost brownouts to a normal voltage rather than switching to battery mode to preserve the battery's useful lifetime. As for the alarm, the only alarm that cannot be silenced is the overload alarm. When the unit switches to battery mode it begins to output a simulated sinewave output from the UPS, some devices need pure sinewave power, when those devices see the simulated or stepped sinewave output they will draw more power to cover for the small gaps in the simulated sinewave waveform to make up for it which may be triggering the overload, if you are close to the maximum capacity of the unit in line mode then you should consider either a PFC UPS or simply a bigger AVR UPS to work with your equipment, or even just remove a non-critical item from the battery supported outlets.
