Better protection for your electronics!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had several electronic items damaged lately during storms. My expensive surge protector hasn't always prevented damage. Several items that weren't damaged require rebooting and sometimes reprograming as a result of outages, voltage spikes and voltage drops. I got this as better protection for my equipment more than as a battery backup. Our den entertainment area has too many electronic gadgets to all get plugged into this unit. This unit has 10 outlets, 5 of which have the battery backup feature and 5 that only have surge protection. I chose not to use battery backup on my 75" TV, I think it would not run very long on battery power. I chose to use battery backup on my modem, my WiFi mesh server, my small all in one computer, our wireless security camera receiver and our DVR. Interestingly, the box claims 221 minutes of run time, with what I have plugged in (the computer is turned off) the LED panel estimates a 291-minute run time. My TV, soundbar, Blu-ray player and 2 printers are plugged into the surge protection only outlets. Aside from surge protection and battery backup this unit has voltage regulation which protects against voltage drops as well as voltage surges/spikes. There are coax cable, network cable and USB connections too. There is a USB charging port and a USB C charging port on the front. The LCD panel on the front allows you to scroll through a number of screens including the current electrical load percentage, estimated run time on battery, percentage the backup battery is charged, input voltage, output voltage, output watts, percentage of output watts currently used, input frequency, output volt/amps, output volt/amp percentage. There is an app that lets you monitor and control the unit as well as program automatic shutdowns. I have not explored the app yet. While I haven't had a full-blown power outage since installing this unit, I have had a number of thunderstorms that made the lights flicker frequently and have had no issues with my electronics.

A major security device for your electronics
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best investment to protect the electronic equipment in my summer house. The house is located in a remote area with unreliable electric power and over the years, the inconsistent power shortened the life of my electronics. The CyberPower LX1500GU3 is currently providing two of the most valuable options for my situation. The surge protection is preventing the changes in the power to damage my electronics in both situations when the voltage is at an inadequate level. With ten power outlets to protect you, there is plenty of room for most of your sensible equipment. I love that different from other UPS that I used in the past, this is done without the noise background. Note also that surge protection is not exclusive to electric power but also for coaxial and ethernet lines, so the security is from every possible wire. Additionally, it serves as battery backup when the house suffers a hard shutdown. Five of the ten outlets are providing backup. In my case, I installed the router connected to the device to secure a minimum Internet time of functioning while I can still use the laptop battery. Final components that are great for me as a user: .- The two USB ports to directly charge my phone and tablet with full speed and security. .- The device is built to be sure that the battery only works when needed, bypassing it when the power is stable. This will extend the device's lifespan. .- The LCD provides info about the functioning and the power conditions, which helps to understand the status of your power. .- The manufacturer's guarantee of three years is an element that built piece of mind. Thinking in to protect your electronics from power risk, this is probably one of the best investments in the market.

What I needed to keep the power on
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CyberPower LX1500GU3 Battery Backup UPS system is a very attractive tower style battery backup unit. The unit is rated at 1500 watts which is enough to run most of your electronics for at least as long as it would take to safely shut things down. I am using the backup to maintain internet and wireless networks during a power outage. The unit comes with 5 surge suppressor outlets and 5 suppressor and battery backup outlets. One each of these banks of outlets is spaced wider so that items with large power blocks can be used. I would like to see more than one of the battery backup plugs have the additional spacing, but you only get one with this unit. It is an attractive unit with a multifunction display that has a lot of useful information on the status of the UPS. The CyberPower LX1500 has more really great features as well. It has a line conditioner built into the unit, it has data line protection to protect sensitive equipment and has a transformer that regulates low voltages such as brownouts. This unit has a simulated sine wave output also. This unit has a three year guarantee which includes the battery and also comes with a connected equipment guarantee. I have been very pleased with this unit since using it, but have not had a chance to see how long the modem and wifi router will operate on battery power alone. I am convinced, however, that it will give me a substantial runtime. There really isn't any learning curve with this UPS, just plug and play. If I could change one thing, it would be to have at least two widely spaced battery backup plugs on the rear of the unit.

LCD info screen rocks, limited surge protection
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used many uninteruptible power supplies over the years but this one from CyberPower is the first one I have owned that is so attractive, I am happy to have it out in the open. Stylishly designed with a sharp, informative, color LCD screen, it is iight years ahead of most UPS boxes of old, at least in terms of looks. Which, let's face it, were just basic plastic boxes with a few rows of outlets along one side. Those were almost always simply buried under the desk somewhere, on the floor, out of sight. They did the job but were nothing much to look at and did not provide much information unless the power failed and an alarm went off. You won't be inclined to hide the CyberPower LX1500. Not only does it look nice, it provides a lot of useful information via its LCD information screen. When activated by tap of the big button on the front (it remains off most of the time) this UPS displays the current voltage provided by your home or office AC outlets, as well as the charge status of the internal UPS battery and current load of the devices plugged into the UPS. Pushing the button cycles you through more information, including output voltage, estmated battery run time for attached devices and any faults that may occur. (The same information also is available via CyberPower's PowerPanel Personal software, which is a free download from the company's web site. But you must first connect the UPS to your computer via the supplied USB cable.) Up to five devices can be plugged in and have battery backup, along with five more that only get surge protection. Just be aware most of these outlets are tightly bunched so if you have a lot of devices with big power bricks, this UPS is not going to be a good choice. Only one battery backup outlet in each grouping is offset enough for a power brick. The others will only accommodate a standard plug. One nice extra is that all outlets get automatic voltage regulation, which kicks in if voltage from the street drops below recommended levels, which can be damaging to sensitive electronics. The battery makes up the shortfall when that happens and keeps voltage steady. If you do experience a power outage, battery run times vary from a few minutes to more than three hours, depending on how many devices are plugged in an how much power they require. When I plugged in my big desktop tower and two large monitors, the UPS said I could keep going for more than two hours on battery backup. Pretty impressive if true. The surge protection on this UPS is a bit less so. It is rated at 890 joules, which by CyberPower's own standard, is less than half of what is recommended for desktop computers and HDTVs. Something is better than nothing but you should be aware that even this limited this protection diminishes over time, with the joule rating going down by a significant amount each time a surge is stopped. This UPS also provides protection from power surges on incoming internet and cable TV cables. And there are USB A and C ports on the front for charging devices that get power this way. Overall this is a very nice UPS with a lot of modern extras. The LCD information center is very useful and with 10 outlets, it should be able to accommodate the needs of most people. Its biggest shortcomings are the tightly bunched outlets, limiting the number of power bricks you can plug in, and a marginal surge protection rating.

My fifth CyberPower UPS
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own various CyberPower UPS as well as UPS of other brand, some has 2 batteries and some has one. But I have own more Cyberpower UPS than other brand, this shows how good they are. They are great value UPS and battery of each set last more than 3 years. If you have frequent power outage, the battery life might be shorter. Once the battery is at the end of its life, finding replacement battery and replacing the battery is very easy. You don't need a technician to do the job, anyone can do it. UPS not only provide uninterruptable power during power outage but also protect against power surge due to lightning etc. All 10 power outlets provide surge protection and 5 out of the 10 also provide power backup via battery. When the power from utility company drops below 100V, or increase pass 139V, the UPS will kick in to provide safe power level through the surge+battery outlets. I connect my personal tower computer and LCD monitor to the surge+battery outlets, this way I can continue to work and I won't lose data not yet saved. This also will extent life of my data drive. This UPS uses 2 batteries so it has enough power to supply power to my computer for more than 200 minutes during power outage, that's more than 3 hours! If you connect ethernet cable to your computer, it is a good idea to pass it through the UPS. I had a network card burnt by lightning because I did not connect through surge protector. This UPS can protect ethernet cable as well as co-axial cable. I connect my modem and router to my other Cyberpower UPS, peace of mind working from home. I leave my computer power up 24x7, so I also install Cyberpower PowerPanel Personal edition software and connect the UPS to my computer via the included USB cable. This way it will automatically and gracefully shutdown my computer when battery only has 8 minutes left. The software also shows various information about the battery and allow user to configure the UPS. The front panel has color display, usb port and usb-c port, my older UPS does not have color screen nor usb port. The usb ports do not provide quick charge though. The display shows various information about the UPS such as input voltage, output load, battery capacity etc., yellow icon for warning and red icon for fault, very convenient. The single display selector button has 2 functions, cycle through the display as well as enter into configuration mode. I wish it uses more buttons because if you don't have the manual with you, you won't remember the procedure of using just 1 button to configure the UPS but luckily you won't need to configure it because the factory default setting is perfect. Very important to note when selecting UPS, the power output via the battery of this UPS is in simulated sine wave form, some equipment does not work with this type of waveform and requires pure sine wave, if your equipment still shutdown during power outage, this is the reason. CyberPower also has pure sine wave UPS but at a higher price. Removed 1 star due to USB no quick charge and waveform is simulated sine wave.

A great UPS
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good with this CyberPower UPS battery backup system. The UPS arrived in a sturdy box and was well packaged with instructions and a USB cable. The UPS is significantly heavier than I anticipated, but it also has a rather large capacity battery for a consumer grade UPS. The specs on the box say it is a 900 watt battery and that's the proper way to list it, however I always wish manufacturers would also list the battery amp hour capacity. Looking on the CyberPower website, the specs do list the battery as a 9AH battery. However according to my calculations, at 121 volts 900w works out to 7.4AH. I'm not sure where where the discrepancy comes from. The color LCD display is great. It displays lots of information clearly. I also installed the CyberPower PowerPanel Personal software on my Windows PC and the software is also great. It displays all relevant info and settings in a simple and easy format. I have a rather power hungry PC that pull about 100 watts and I can get 90 minutes of backup power with this UPS. I also wanted to test the UPS with more load on it, so I plugged in two 3D printers as well as the PC and it showed it was pulling 310 watts and giving a reserve time of 19 minutes. Plenty of time to shut things down. It has 9 power outlets (5 with surge protection), 1 USB-A and 1 USB-C port. The USB-C port is supposed to have up to 3A current. However I tried it with a Raspberry pi 4b and I received a warning from the pi that it was under powered so I'm not sure if that is a voltage issue or current issue. But the USB-C port should be great for most devices. The unit is extremely quiet. I would highly recommend this UPS.

Must Have
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've considered Battery Backups a must have for a long time to protect equipment and keep them running in case of a power outage. This is my second CyberPower and I came back because the first worked so well. This CyberPower LX1500GU3 Battery Backup works exactly as it should and you need it to. I'm fortunate that I was able to plug in my modem/router, all my TV and home theater equipment, Xbox and even a lamp into this unit. It has 8 plugs and I used one to plug in a surge protector that I have phone, computer and tablet chargers, and a security camera plugged in. The unit itself also has spots on the front for a USC and B to be directly plugged in. It works seamlessly when the power goes off and I don't lose internet, Wi-Fi or TV for up to 2 hours and with the lamp plugged in, I can have a little light. I haven't had a long outage to test the battery life, but the available time is on the LCD display on the unit, which by the way, is great. It shows the battery life and current load. You can scroll through by clicking the display button and see the estimated run time, watts, Hz, and current load. Want to reduce load and extend the battery, unplug some thing and get to where you want. The info is right there. I'm very happy with this and would recommend it to anyone.

A must have in your Home Office, Studio & Business
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CyberPower battery backup system is a great addition for anyone who wants that added protection to their electronics and the ability to have enough back up power to quickly save the files you were working on during a power outage. As advertised, the battery back up time was right around thirteen minutes (12:56 exactly) under half load, and two minutes under a full load. This model has ten total surge protected outlets however, only five of them are battery backup outlets. On the battery backup I have my computer and display screen, modem and a dedicated backup SSD. The added feature of a display screen on the CyberPower is a nice touch. This allows you to see your incoming power from your wall outlet and it has a wide variety of display settings as well. Should a power outage occur you will receive an audible noise from the unit alerting you that it has switched to Battery Backup power. the added two USB charging ports on the front are a great addition as well, a USB-C port and a USB-A, can offer you the added security of a quick charge to your mobile phone in the event that you need to contact first responders.

A lot of battery and protection for slim profile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CyberPower LX1500GU3 is a great beefy backup power supply but still maintains a slim profile. This thing weights quite a bit meaning the battery is beefy. The quotes specs of 221 minutes are impressive. The build quality is also top notch. There are two rows of outlets, one row that is just a surge protector and the other row is surge and battery backup. We lost power a few times this month and I have the router and cable modem. Internet stayed up throughout the storm power outage. The included screen is small and very informative and non obtrusive. This backup battery definitely makes the single available outlet useful to connect a ton of devices. The instructions that come with it are very informative and useful. Upon receiving the battery backup you need to plug it in for at least 8 hours to charge the battery to it's fullest before actually turning it on. After that it is just plug in and go. If you need a battery backup, this would be a very impressive purchase for home theater or critical computing resources.

A must have for a high performance gaming pc.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a smaller CyberPower battery back up device for my gaming pc that worked just fine, until I bought a new gaming pc that uses a lot more power. I plugged my new gaming pc into the old battery backup, and as soon as I logged into one of my games, the power from the graphics card would trip the battery backup, shutting it down. I went to Best Buy and seen this one, so I bought it and brought it home and set it up. This one handles the power demand just fine and I am able to use my gaming pc as it was intended.
