This is my first UPS and I am so happy with it. I feel protected not just from power outages but power surges as well. This is mainly providing power backup and surge protection to an Unraid storage server and my internet devices. The storage server is the most important because it houses so much important data that I have accumulated over the years and knowing that it is safe from unexpected power outages gives me a sense of relief. Unraid recognizes this UPS immediately via the USB connection to the back of the server and works exceptionally well at shutting down at a certain amount of power that you can configure in the settings. So essentially you can set it up so that the server gracefully shuts down when the UPS has 10 minutes of battery life left. This is exactly the power protection I was looking for. The front panel has a display with so many up-front settings on it that display important information on the battery and power conditions. This gives you the ability to see critical information at a glance and is a very nice feature to have. There is also an audible alarm that sounds when then device is on battery backup letting you know you are on battery power. The USB and USB type -C ports on the front are also a nice addition so you can quickly plug in a device to power or charge. I like the size of this UPS as well. Its small and compact with an acceptable width to sit comfortably next to a desk or in my case, my server. Excellent job by CyberPower on this unit. It looks good and performs awesome. I would highly recommend it.

The CyberPower LX1500GU3 Battery Backup UPS System checks all the boxes for a home or small business battery backup for a computer and/or other electronic equipment. It has a large reserve capacity, well over 1 hour of battery-powered runtime with a typical computer connected. I actually have 2 of these - one is backup power for my desktop workstation PC, and a second one as backup power for all my network and wifi equipment. The one attached to my PC will run for more than one hour when the power is out, and the one connected to my network equipment will run for about 3 hours or more. The backup unit itself has lots of outlets. The USB-A and USB-C charging ports on the front are very useful. The shape and size of the unit is perfect for under your desk or next to your PC tower. The front display panel is awesome. It's color so you can see if you have a problem at a glance because any abnormal condition shows up as red instead of green or white. The display can also show pretty much every power-related parameter you need to know. Voltage in, voltage out, frequency, power draw, number of power-out events recorded, and on and on. This is a hugely useful feature. I can't think of one negative thing to say about this UPS. I have two of these, and three of the model that was superseded by this one (I have a massive amount of electronic devices!), and highly recommend them.

I replaced a smaller UPS with this one; the system worked right away, the interface on the device is intuitive and the packaging was easy to deal with. The number of outlets is generous and it "just works". Overall, this is a no-drama UPS that fit my needs quite nicely.

This is the easiest UPS unit I have ever set up since the battery is already connected. It is often a pain, especially with these larger, heavier units. All it required was 8 hours of charging prior to use in order to charge up the battery and subsequently allow the unit to be turned on. There are 10 outlets – 5 battery and 5 surge only. Plus, this unit has protection for both network (RJ45) and coaxial cable connections to protect network equipment before or after a modem/router. The front of the unit has a USB A and a USB C port to power/charge devices whether on utility or battery power. This is a huge plus for me because I like to be able to charge my phone without using up a computer USB port. Installing the utility software is simple. All I had to do was install the program and plug in the included USB cable. The software automatically found the UPS without any issue. All of the important settings, such as when to shut down when on battery power, are all easy to find and configure. It has the option to connect to the CyberPower PowerPanel Cloud so the unit can be monitored remotely. If a person does not want to use the software, the front display panel is simple to read with its color display. I can easily scroll through the data with the display button. Screens include input voltage, output voltage, input Hz, load in watts, load in VA, percent of capacity used, and estimated battery runtime. When not needed, the screen turns off to save energy and to make this one sharp-looking UPS unit. Only the power button stays illuminated to show that the unit is powered on. I have my gaming tower with a 650 watt power supply, 4 monitors, and my WIFI router connected to the battery side. The combination uses just over 200 watts or about 21% of the UPS’s capacity on average when the machine is idle. While it is not healthy for a lead acid battery to fully discharge, I pulled the plug and kept working for precisely 5 minutes. The battery drained by 11% in 5 minutes which implies that the runtime should be about 45 minutes. This is exactly what the unit predicted as the estimated runtime before I pulled the plug. While I never anticipate running on battery power that long, there are times when my machine will be drawing a lot more power. It is crucial that the UPS unit can stay on long enough to either allow me to safely shutdown the machine or else trigger an automatic shutdown. This unit can easily handle my demands, so I am satisfied. I would recommend it to anyone with significant power demands, like a gaming tower with multiple monitors.

CyberPower LX1500GU3 Battery Backup UPS Systems - Black The CyberPower UPS is a great value. The bright multi-function color display is a great tool to see what’s happening and best of all it goes to sleep and turns off after about a minute. It is powered by 2 12V 9.0 AH batteries that are easily replaceable. When plugged in, fully charged, but turned off the unit pulls 3.1 to 3.4 watts. When turned on with no load it pulls 4.5 to 4.9 watts. When it turns on (no AC power) it outputs 123V at 60 Hz. The 60Hz measurement is stable when no load is applied. When a load of 130 watts is applied (XPS desktop with 3, 27” monitors, external DVD and USB dock) the voltage jumps to 125V and the Hz is measuring at 80 Hz. The 80 Hz measurement is not real because the meter can not understand the simulated sine wave. The built-in meter reads the corrected Hz to be 60 Hz. All voltage and frequency measurements were done with a KILL A WATT P3. When under battery power the unit emits a very slight hum. This is not noticeable with a computer fan noise next to it. The UPS is seen by Windows 10 natively with the supplied USB cable. There is downloadable software “Powerpanel Personal”. This software has a few bugs in it. When the computer goes to sleep it reports that it reconnects when the computer wakes up. I’m sure this is a correct statement, but it is also pointless. It would be better to report after a minute or so that it could not communicate with the UPS. But even after it says it is connected, the task bar Icon still reports “Unable to communicate with UPS”. However, if you click on it, it shows everything as normal. Like I said, a few bugs. There is also a mobile app that you can download and use to see the UPS operation, but again it says it’s just a download, but in the application, it is a paid subscription, why would you want to pay for that. This may be a mistake and you don’t have to pay, I did not even try because it said it was only a free trial. The display is full color with a multitude of options, all of which are very useful. You can have your choice of what you want to see to calculate the actual runtime of your equipment.

The Cyberpower UPS is a battery backup and surge protection unit for computer and home theatre use. The unit is about the size of a mini-tower PC and weighs in at 25 pounds. This unit is a beast. The UPS has 5 battery backup/surge ports as well as 5 surge protection only ports on the back of the unit. There are also 2 ethernet ports and 2 coax ports on the back. On the front are standard USB port and a USB-C port for charging devices. On each bank of ports one of the ports is spaced so that you can plug in a large AC adaptor. The unit came well packaged and includes a very detailed set of instructions. The instructions state that you should fully charge the UPS prior to using. Mine came charged to 87% so I plugged it in and charged it to 100% before connecting my desktop computer and 27” 4K monitor on the backup/surge side. I then connected my modem, printer and speakers on the surge only side. After everything was plugged in, I plugged in the UPS and everything came right up. There is a very nice display on the front of the unit that you can toggle through to show the input and output voltage, battery charge level, the amount of time the unit would operate on battery power in the event of an outage as well as how much load your devices are putting on the system. There are a number of programming features that are detailed in the instructions that you can also access through the display. The UPS has Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to maintain consistent voltage for your devices. Cyberpower offers an APP that allows you to monitor the device from you PC and looks to have some great features. I have not been able to get it to load properly yet but hope to do so soon. Thankfully I have not had a power outage so I can’t speak to the UPS’s ability to provide the backup it is supposed to offer but based on other UPS devices I have had I expect this will perform without issue. With replaceable batteries and a 3-year warranty I expect to have this UPS for a long time. Seems to be a great product.

    Better protection for your electronics!

I have had several electronic items damaged lately during storms. My expensive surge protector hasn't always prevented damage. Several items that weren't damaged require rebooting and sometimes reprograming as a result of outages, voltage spikes and voltage drops. I got this as better protection for my equipment more than as a battery backup. Our den entertainment area has too many electronic gadgets to all get plugged into this unit. This unit has 10 outlets, 5 of which have the battery backup feature and 5 that only have surge protection. I chose not to use battery backup on my 75" TV, I think it would not run very long on battery power. I chose to use battery backup on my modem, my WiFi mesh server, my small all in one computer, our wireless security camera receiver and our DVR. Interestingly, the box claims 221 minutes of run time, with what I have plugged in (the computer is turned off) the LED panel estimates a 291-minute run time. My TV, soundbar, Blu-ray player and 2 printers are plugged into the surge protection only outlets. Aside from surge protection and battery backup this unit has voltage regulation which protects against voltage drops as well as voltage surges/spikes. There are coax cable, network cable and USB connections too. There is a USB charging port and a USB C charging port on the front. The LCD panel on the front allows you to scroll through a number of screens including the current electrical load percentage, estimated run time on battery, percentage the backup battery is charged, input voltage, output voltage, output watts, percentage of output watts currently used, input frequency, output volt/amps, output volt/amp percentage. There is an app that lets you monitor and control the unit as well as program automatic shutdowns. I have not explored the app yet. While I haven't had a full-blown power outage since installing this unit, I have had a number of thunderstorms that made the lights flicker frequently and have had no issues with my electronics.

This is probably the best investment to protect the electronic equipment in my summer house. The house is located in a remote area with unreliable electric power and over the years, the inconsistent power shortened the life of my electronics. The CyberPower LX1500GU3 is currently providing two of the most valuable options for my situation. The surge protection is preventing the changes in the power to damage my electronics in both situations when the voltage is at an inadequate level. With ten power outlets to protect you, there is plenty of room for most of your sensible equipment. I love that different from other UPS that I used in the past, this is done without the noise background. Note also that surge protection is not exclusive to electric power but also for coaxial and ethernet lines, so the security is from every possible wire. Additionally, it serves as battery backup when the house suffers a hard shutdown. Five of the ten outlets are providing backup. In my case, I installed the router connected to the device to secure a minimum Internet time of functioning while I can still use the laptop battery. Final components that are great for me as a user: .- The two USB ports to directly charge my phone and tablet with full speed and security. .- The device is built to be sure that the battery only works when needed, bypassing it when the power is stable. This will extend the device's lifespan. .- The LCD provides info about the functioning and the power conditions, which helps to understand the status of your power. .- The manufacturer's guarantee of three years is an element that built piece of mind. Thinking in to protect your electronics from power risk, this is probably one of the best investments in the market.

The CyberPower LX1500GU3 Battery Backup UPS system is a very attractive tower style battery backup unit. The unit is rated at 1500 watts which is enough to run most of your electronics for at least as long as it would take to safely shut things down. I am using the backup to maintain internet and wireless networks during a power outage. The unit comes with 5 surge suppressor outlets and 5 suppressor and battery backup outlets. One each of these banks of outlets is spaced wider so that items with large power blocks can be used. I would like to see more than one of the battery backup plugs have the additional spacing, but you only get one with this unit. It is an attractive unit with a multifunction display that has a lot of useful information on the status of the UPS. The CyberPower LX1500 has more really great features as well. It has a line conditioner built into the unit, it has data line protection to protect sensitive equipment and has a transformer that regulates low voltages such as brownouts. This unit has a simulated sine wave output also. This unit has a three year guarantee which includes the battery and also comes with a connected equipment guarantee. I have been very pleased with this unit since using it, but have not had a chance to see how long the modem and wifi router will operate on battery power alone. I am convinced, however, that it will give me a substantial runtime. There really isn't any learning curve with this UPS, just plug and play. If I could change one thing, it would be to have at least two widely spaced battery backup plugs on the rear of the unit.

I have used many uninteruptible power supplies over the years but this one from CyberPower is the first one I have owned that is so attractive, I am happy to have it out in the open. Stylishly designed with a sharp, informative, color LCD screen, it is iight years ahead of most UPS boxes of old, at least in terms of looks. Which, let's face it, were just basic plastic boxes with a few rows of outlets along one side. Those were almost always simply buried under the desk somewhere, on the floor, out of sight. They did the job but were nothing much to look at and did not provide much information unless the power failed and an alarm went off. You won't be inclined to hide the CyberPower LX1500. Not only does it look nice, it provides a lot of useful information via its LCD information screen. When activated by tap of the big button on the front (it remains off most of the time) this UPS displays the current voltage provided by your home or office AC outlets, as well as the charge status of the internal UPS battery and current load of the devices plugged into the UPS. Pushing the button cycles you through more information, including output voltage, estmated battery run time for attached devices and any faults that may occur. (The same information also is available via CyberPower's PowerPanel Personal software, which is a free download from the company's web site. But you must first connect the UPS to your computer via the supplied USB cable.) Up to five devices can be plugged in and have battery backup, along with five more that only get surge protection. Just be aware most of these outlets are tightly bunched so if you have a lot of devices with big power bricks, this UPS is not going to be a good choice. Only one battery backup outlet in each grouping is offset enough for a power brick. The others will only accommodate a standard plug. One nice extra is that all outlets get automatic voltage regulation, which kicks in if voltage from the street drops below recommended levels, which can be damaging to sensitive electronics. The battery makes up the shortfall when that happens and keeps voltage steady. If you do experience a power outage, battery run times vary from a few minutes to more than three hours, depending on how many devices are plugged in an how much power they require. When I plugged in my big desktop tower and two large monitors, the UPS said I could keep going for more than two hours on battery backup. Pretty impressive if true. The surge protection on this UPS is a bit less so. It is rated at 890 joules, which by CyberPower's own standard, is less than half of what is recommended for desktop computers and HDTVs. Something is better than nothing but you should be aware that even this limited this protection diminishes over time, with the joule rating going down by a significant amount each time a surge is stopped. This UPS also provides protection from power surges on incoming internet and cable TV cables. And there are USB A and C ports on the front for charging devices that get power this way. Overall this is a very nice UPS with a lot of modern extras. The LCD information center is very useful and with 10 outlets, it should be able to accommodate the needs of most people. Its biggest shortcomings are the tightly bunched outlets, limiting the number of power bricks you can plug in, and a marginal surge protection rating.
