Good UPS, hope to never need it though!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been putting off on buying a UPS for my electronics for a long time, and when I found this one on sale, I decided to give it a shot. As I do a bit of video editing on my desktop, I like to have the insurance policy in the case of a power outage. The kit was a bit larger than I thought, but it fits easily into most spots since it can be stood upright or mounted to the wall. There were enough ports for both regular and battery power, so I didn't need a second power strip for non-essentials. The USB connectivity is quite useful in keeping track of the UPS function. I was surprised at getting only 20 minutes backup time when the box stated 45, but reading it closely that number is for all in one PCs with low power consumption. Mine is more standard and did fall in line with the 15-20 minute backup time. I personally hope that I never have to experience the UPS in action, but I take comfort in knowing that should a power outage occur, I can safely power down my PC. I didn't give it a five star rating as I have yet to see how the device functions in those conditions, as I don't want to use my PC as a test, but I'll give it the benefit of doubt.

Excellent battery backup!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This battery backup is protecting a 16TB server, modem, router, and switch in my basement. It has performed flawlessly over the past six months, working well through several short outages, and looks posed to continue to function great for many many more months to come.

Nice small compact and works well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a smaller UPS for on top of a cabinet for my wireless router and cable modem. This one was perfect fit. Small compact and does not weigh a lot.

Perfection achieved
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's big. It's bulky. It may not mount on the wall, but it does provide options unlike any other that I have experienced in this category. It was an unplanned purchase, but merely by looking at the description on the box as well as the associate's recommendation, I was hooked. I really like that I can stand it up or lay it down, too, not to mention the battery backup.

Does the Job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This provides the surge protection level I think needed to protect my home/office computer and peripherals. Sufficient power outlets for all of them. The computer interface allows me to monitor current power consumption and available voltage (a nice feature but not essential). When I send a print to my HP Laserjet printer a tone is emitted from CyberPower unit alerting me that there is momentary draw down from the battery backup because total power consumption exceeds rating of the CyberPower unit. As soon as printing is finished all is back to normal. Not a fault of the unit - It's telling me I'm at it's limit. For me the solution would be purchase a higher capacity unit but since it's only momentary I will keep this one.

Perfect for my needs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having just gone through a two day power outage due to summer storms, I was looking for a cost effective way to power our Rinnai tank-less water heater when the power goes out (it runs off gas but has a control panel that needs power). The CyberPower did the trick. Since not powering conventional electronics I did not install the software, simply plugged it in and was off to the races. And I like the way you can turn off the irritating alert/warning beeps. Oh yeah, a nice side benefit is that we'll be able to use it for charging our iDevices too; my experimentation revealed that it stayed up for about 24 hours while continuously charging two iPhones. Heck, I might buy another one!

Not bad for business computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this for one of my remote locations that I provide IT support for. I was able to order it and then I had the secretary pick it up at the local store. Install was easy enough, and I was able to talk someone through hooking up the USB port so it is now connected to the local computer. I like the ability within the software to test the UPS, and also to monitor it. Seems to hold up to most surges, etc. I would like to see it have some sort of remote monitoring ability, but I also have to understand this is more of a 'home' product, and not really designed for business.

Looks good so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Other than the red light (failed AC outlet) staying on it looks OK. I have not tried killing the AC input to verify that the backup works but I have no doubt it will. The only thing that worries me is that the instructions say to be sure that the plugged-in computer is below a specific wattage. I have no idea what the wattage of my computer is so that is why I am hesitant to try using it in its backup. It would have been nice if the instructions say whether that total acceptable wattage includes both the backed-up outlets and the regular ones.

Good and Reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This UPS saved my life multiple times at my apartment. My PC takes a lot of power so i can only use the battery backup for only 10-15 minutes, but its more than enough to save what im doing and safely shut down my machine.

Line conditioning works for me.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not had a blackout yet but I imagine these units will work just fine. The software tells you how much time is available for backup. I like that the software also tells you just how much electric is being used. It is interesting to watch the power usage spin up as I fire up programs. The power in my neighborhood fluctuates so I appreciate the ability of the UPS to get me through brownouts.

Reliable UPS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have frequent, short power failures, this relatively inexpensive piece of equipment could save you a lot of hassle. It's your basic UPS without many bells and whistles. Rated at 625VA, which equates to 375 watts, this one has decent capacity. Don't be fooled into getting a lower powered one. 625VA should be enough to keep most PCs going for at least a few minutes, if not longer. This UPS has a USB interface and software to automatically shut down your PC if you are not around when the power goes out. I used to swear by another brand of UPS that had become the industry standard. But over time I find myself recommending CyberPower instead.

Always have a back up battery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work primarily on my computer from home, so having a back up power source is a must. I recommend using this on your computer as well as your router / modem. Really easy set up, and it last long enough for me to save all of my work, send last emails, and shut down safely.

Nice unit for the $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just picked this up on sale for $45. I needed a small unit to backup the power supply that powers the Verizon FiOS equipment mounted on the side of my house. This equipment draws 35 watts. This unit gives me 70 minutes of backup time with this draw. One thing I wish it had was Ethernet protection. Don't need it yet, but one day this UPS will backup a small wired network I've run wiring for. I mounted this on my ceiling by the outlet and FiOS power supply. The slots in the back made this quite simple. My box didn't have any software in it as advertised here. If yours doesn't either it can be installed right from Cyberpower's website. No big deal. So far a very nice unit overall.

Junk!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this for maybe 6 weeks. It worked fine until the first power outage. I turned it off within a few minutes. The power outage lasted maybe 30 minutes, however I didn't turn it back on until about 5 hours later. When I turned it back on, nothing that was plugged into would turn on and it just beeped repeatedly. I hit the reset, I turned it off again, I tried just about everything. I then unplugged everything from the backup side and plugged into the surge only side. That worked and no more beeping. The next morning it started beeping again. I still had power to the computer and printer that was only plugged into the surge side. I tried reset and then tried to power it off and it would not shut off this time, it only continued to beep. I contacted Cyber Power and he could hear it in the background and said the circuit was fried or something along those lines. He got my information and said they would send me a replacement. I got an email, which I didn't pay much attention to. I figured it was just confirmation of our conversation. About 2 weeks went by and no replacement. I replied to the email and was told I had to ship mine back first and pay for shipping before they would send me another one. $13 to send it to them and only had it maybe 6 weeks and if the next one went south I'd have to keep putting money into this product. I now have a useless backup, not even the surge protector works unless you want to hear beeping. Total waste of money! This was my first and last Cyber Power product!

cheaper than apc
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does what it is suppose to do so far. We have a lot of minor power outages due to T-storms and its working good like my other APC's in the house. Only time will tell to see how long this will last.

Great Price Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gat this to keep my Dish DVR from going out during power outages. We live in a rural area and we seem to have a lot of outages and flickers during rain storms. Every time we would get just a flicker the DVR would reboot itself and take 5 minutes to boot up. I also was concerned about voltage spikes on all of my equipment and I think this provides clean power without spiking. After 2 years my firs Dish DVR died on me and I am sure it was because of the voltage surges. I didn't give it 5 stars because it beeps when lightning flashes and there is no power outage. Annoying. I plan to buy another 1 of these for my PS3 and XBOX and new Panasonic Plasma.
