Never used a UPS before, but this was recommended and has plenty of power ports. No issues setting it up.

    Not reliable

I bought it to prepare for the hurricane, but it didn't work, Best Buy gave me a refund. I followed the instructions (charged for 8 hours, etc), but it did not charge. I plugged a lamp in, it did not power it. Then I charged it again for 8 hours, this time while turned "on" (they say turn it OFF while charging), and it did power the lamp. However, this was not reliable enough for me. If it had a display indication the charging level, I would have kept it, dismissing the first failure as a one-time glitch. Without the display though, I didn't know how much charge it had after the apparently successful attempt, so I couldn't trust it.

It lasted 3 yrs. 5 months and the warranty is 3 years. The battery is not replaceable so I have to throw it away and buy a new one. This time I bought an APC with replaceable battery for $55.00.

Last Monday it proofed itself worthless. We had a great thunderstorm and everything that was plugged into this is fried. this includes 4 wireless receivers for my security cameras, a small TV to view said cameras and my gateway computer. All dead now, except for that search protector, it is doing just fine. I also had 2 small multiple plug ins with search protectors and they are dead, they sacrificed themselves and everything that was plugged into them is alive and well. After this i will stick with the $16 ones and not waste my money on the $80 ones.

    Very Shortlived

I bought this unit Nov, 2011. We have a lot of brief outages. The outages are just fractions of a second, but enough to kill the internet router, which takes a couple of minutes to reboot. It worked at first, but I noticed in the last few months, the battery backup stopped working. When an outage would occur, none of the equipment would continue to work and the UPS would just emit a very loud annoying beep until I turned the unit off and back on. I only had the internet router, Vonage router and 2 cordless phone base units plugged in. I thought the battery was bad, pulled it out and was going to replace, but the multimeter shows the battery fully charged. So, something on the board must be bad. I went ahead and bought a new, more expensive competitor brand. It's not worth my time or money to get this one fixed.

    Generally good but ......

It seems to get overloaded just by using the TV. I don't have all the plugs used. When using the internet on the TV with nothing else plugged in, the unit becomes overloaded and cuts off. Doesn't seem right. Would go with the other brand.

About 2 years ago, I bought two of these for my father who lives in suburban Maryland, because the power frequently goes off due to thunderstorms. They worked great for about a year, but now they won't turn on. The "surge-protected" outlets work, so they must be getting power, but the "battery-backed up" outlets don't work, and when you push the "on" button, the light on the unit doesn't come on. I've tried the circuit breaker and tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds, etc.... no luck! I'm going to take them back to Best Buy and see what they say, but I'm not expecting much.

This thing died three months after the warranty expired. What a coincidence. Engineered obsolescence.

    One power outage killed it

Have a small computer, satellite receiver, and video encoder plugged into this box. Had a power failure, unit lasted about 10 minutes and shut down. When the power was restored, the UPS unit would no longer charge. To bad it didnt have any notification of that. The next power failure, everything just abruptly shut off, taking the computers boot drive with it. Testing confirmed the UPS will only output power when on A/C main. Has a three year warranty, but for the cost of shipping it back to be fixed, I think Ill just get another brand since that other brands UPS in my entertainment center kept right on keeping on.

    DOA

I bought the CyberPower 625VA new from Best Buy in December 2013. After opening it, the label on the unit says to plug in for 8 hours prior to use so that the battery can charge up. I did that and it gave no indication that it was doing anything. The next day, when I tried to turn it on, it was dead.. no power, no lights, nothing. I followed all instructions in the User's Manual under the section 'will not power on'. Nothing helped. This unit is going back and I will buy another brand. Will NOT buy another CyberPower. If I could rate this less than 1 star, I'd do it!

    Choose a different brand

I bought the Cyber Power 625va UPS over a year ago. Since it is the first UPS I've used, I didn't really have any idea how it should work. However, after a few short power outages during storms in 2012, when the computer didn't stay on, I started to have doubts about the unit. The alarms kept going off and it didn't keep the computer on, so I unhooked it for several months. Today I replaced the dead battery in the unit and tried installing it again. Same result - the "self-test" just cycles until I removed the software. The unit does NOT work as advertised and a new battery was a waste of $. Perhaps, there are other brands that work, but this one is definitely something to avoid.

Battery back up stopped working after about six months. Best Buy would not take back because extended warranty was not purchased.
