Broken power source

So I drove to Best Buy to figure out what the issue was. Come to find out the power source was bad and wouldn’t allow power to turn on. Worst part they didn’t have any left in stock to replace the one I had bought. I had option of buying a more expensive one or a cheaper one. The cheaper one couldn’t run what I needed. So I returned the pc and got a refund and well 3 weeks waiting now gonna have to turn into a longer wait

Beware

After unboxing, we noticed a lack of start up guidance. Only a quick start guide that was universal to this brand, not model specific. Regardless, we set the PC up and my son started playing. So far, so good. After he stopped playing and returned later on that day to the PC to play again, the problems started. For the next 4 days we fought to get the PC to power the monitor, keyboard, and mouse! Needless to say, we returned this PC for a well-known brand.

Factory defective

The computer worked once restarted but will occasionally pixelate and turn green. I believe it is a bad GPU but will be returning this and trying to exchange for something different.. This is the 2nd issue I have had with Cyberpower PC's.

I promise it's worth it though, and you might learn something. Right, so I bought this thing on Jan 29 2021. A little under two months later and the computer works great, besides some buzzing every now and then from the power supply, I believe? Not surprised by the way, and I'll get to that below. Overall good system, I would definitely recommend you buy this, but, I think I got lucky. Let me explain... If it's possible, build your own computer. It's not hard. I learned how to do it in 3 weeks just by learning the names and the functions of the essential components that you have to go out and buy and lastly learning which variations of said components to buy. Except the pandemic came along and made prices skyrocket at the most inconvenient time. Everyone wanted parts, factories were shutting down and as a result were not producing enough parts, supply and demand became unbalanced, yada yada. So because building was off the table, I knew my options were to wait until the pandemic ended and balance got restored, or go prebuilt. Given I've never built a computer before anyway, I figured that since I have somewhat of an "opportunity" or "excuse" rather, to try out a prebuilt, uh, might as well gain first-hand experience in that world. They're not as bad as the pc building gurus make them out to be anyway, it's just that making a custom build is worlds better. And I'll get to that too! Anyway, right, I found this system and paid upwards of $800 for it. Now, I'm seeing lots of reviews where buyers are complaining that the computer was dead on arrival, or the monitor was malfunctioning, or that the computer suddenly stopped turning on shortly after purchase. That scared me at first, but then I did some investigation - and let me tell you before anything else, it was more likely than not the the power supply giving out in almost every case. Little lesson in the world of prebuilts, the entire reason they're infamous is because they're mass produced - which renders the inclusion of cheap parts in the assembly all too inevitable. See, that's the glaring difference between buying and building - when you build, you choose exactly what goes into your computer and you can choose all the good stuff, but when you buy, you've just gotta hope that whatever was on the shelf during manufacturing wasn't defective. It's that simple of a distinction. As it turns out, the power supply is to my knowledge the one particular "less than reputable" component in this prebuilt. Look anywhere online and they'll have something to say about the Apevia brand (which is of course what this build uses). If any of these parts, it's the most likely to stop working randomly. It's a fairly unknown brand too, some might even say shady. Sorry, Apevia. So in conclusion, if it's possible for you to build a good gaming computer for as much as a prebuilt would cost, do it. It's infinitely better and comes with way more advantages. Take a couple of weeks to learn how to put together a custom build and do it! It's just LEGOs with more expensive parts. However, if you're like me and it's impossible to custom build right now, then there's absolutely no shame in going prebuilt. All it does is put you at a little bit more of a disadvantage. But hey, seeing as you're here, take my recommendation. You might be able to find a better computer than this one somewhere out there on the internet, but rest assured if all should fail, this one is always here. And if your computer is dead on arrival (likely because of this power supply, again), don't panic and lash out in the reviews. Just send it on back and wait again. Defective systems happen, it's not a big deal. Especially if you're forced to go prebuilt, then you better be expecting the worst. Expect things to go wrong during manufacturing, or shipping, and come to terms with that. That's just the disadvantage of buying prebuilt, nothing more. Buying custom built mitigates that. I'm giving 5/5 stars despite the cheapo power supply, because everything else is satisfactory. As the consumer, I'm content! The computer boots and runs very fast, it's safe to say that it's the best system I've ever owned (been a laptop user up until this point), and I think the only modifications I'll make to it any time soon are replacing this power supply because it makes me nervous, and getting 16 GB ram as a step up from 8.

Bad motherboard, returned in two weeks

Plug and play out of the box and worked perfectly for two weeks and then it could no longer display on a monitor. Shortly thereafter it couldn't power on. The manufacturer seemed to acknowledge that the GPU connection was a known issue, as was a bad motherboard. Both Best Buy and CyberPowerPC have been great about helping me replace, however, I cannot recommend the product due to an obvious lack of testing and assembly quality.

Don’t waste your money

I kept getting blue screen error, then I kept getting a driver error which would shut my pc off and I’d have to restart it. Then when I got that error a few days later it would make it so I’d have to unplug the accessories to even get it to read on my monitor every single time. Eventually it just stopped turning back on all together. Save your money get a better pc.

constant problems

Don’t buy. Crappy.

Cyberpower computers are junk

Cyberpower customer service is horrible you wait on the phone for seems like hours on end and the people have no idea what they're doing on the other end. Also cyberpower does not recommend upgrading your computer if you do so then it's on you and you have no warranty or no ability to get anything fixed. Definitely recommend looking at other computers.

This thing was such a lemon. Packaging was beautiful and I loved the keyboard and mouse but unfortunately I need my computer to be able to compute without crashing. I can’t even imagine gaming with it, also there was just one stick of Ram. Very odd build especially at this budget.

Bought A Lemon

Left a question on the Best Buy website to see what we needed to do to fix it and we haven't received any response. The rest of the computer was working fine for the past 3 days and now it's completely dead. The unit won't even turn on at all even after plugging it in to several different power sources. Taking it back tomorrow.

AVOID THIS PC AT ALL COST!

Not HDMI. Not VGA. No connection to the monitor or television. Had it exchanged and experienced the same problem with the second machine. Worst Christmas present ever!

For the price, wouldn’t expect to have any issues right out of the box. Wasted way too much time trying to fix it. I did a lot of research before I bought it and this had a lot of great reviews, but the more I looked for answers on how to fix it I found this is a pretty common problem with this computer. Will be returning for a different brand.

Had to exchange

The games would shut off on him and go back to the desktop. I tried everything. Even took it to geek squad which they said it wasn't working properly and since we only had it for a week. They took it back and I ordered another. I should get it next week and I will update this review if it is working properly.

I had bad a bad experience....

I played for 3 hrs and then did the update on the rx580 and everything went blank and wouldn’t turn on. I then called geek squad who took a look and did everything you or I would do just off watching a few YouTube videos. The geek squad Dude recommended me return it. I did.

Great service/lemon PC

Unclear of the issue but appeared to be the motherboard. However.... I took the PC into Best Buy. Two employees worked on the PC for roughly and hour....no luck. They made a seem less return/exchange—(different PC model) So our view of this particular computer is not very high, but the service we received was excellent! Thanks guys!
