This is a "hobby quality" car, so most of the parts can be replaced if needed! It comes with 2 car batteries and 4 (AA) batteries for the controller as well as the controller, vehicle and battery. There's no assembly required and once the batteries are charged and installed you can use the vehicle right out of the box. This is a very fast car and the controller is very responsive to turns but a bit sensitive in regards to speed control. You have to "get the hang of" the middle speed zone...otherwise slow and fast are no issue. The batteries last a reasonable amount of time, but with constant play you can expect 10 to 15 minutes per battery. So are this has functioned well on dry & wet pavement, as well as dirt and un-cut grass with no issues.

Would definitely recommend – especially if you have a large area to run. It is FUN and surprisingly FAST too (rated 20 mph). In the box is a radio controller and batteries for it, vehicle battery charger, extra vehicle battery (took about an hour to charge it initially), decals to personalize the vehicle, instructions (I downloaded from website as its in color and easier to make out the instruction details) and a sheet that details other charger/battery options you can purchase separately. It was pretty much ready to go out of the box but it did take me awhile to figure out the battery in the vehicle wasn’t plugged into the motor to power it. Makes sense as it mentions to disconnect if not using it for a while. Can adjust/center the steering as well as reverse it using the radio controller. Can adjust steering link and shocks on the vehicle. Seems well designed and nicely put together. The instruction manual comes with a detailed blow-out of all the vehicles parts. I ran this into my grill wall in the backyard and the front left wheel was just flopping around. Thought that’s GREAT, 5 minutes in and I have broken it. BUT all I needed to do was push the wheel link back into the steering link. So I think its pretty much plug and play as far as replacements/upgrades. Can easily adjust your speed using the throttle trigger. I got about 10 minutes of constant use before a fully charged battery gave out and it took 90 minutes fully to charge it. Body is easily taken off to get to the battery to exchange or take out to charge. Took me less than 5 minutes. A few caveats; Fast, so don’t do what I did and run it the first time in the house. Probably not for younger kids since it is so fast and BIG! Could do some real damage if run into things. I didn’t notice nor read anywhere that you get some type of indication that the battery is almost depleted. Depending on where it runs out of juice, it could be a tad hard, or far, to recover. Remember to press the start button on the charger, otherwise you will come back like I did back an hour or so later and be very disappointed to find it has not been charged. Oh and did I mention its Fast & Fun!!!!!!

The car is super cool however the batteries dies so quickly that even with an extra one it makes it no fun.

The battery compartment was missing one of the terminal pieces that connects the batteries in series. The steering rod is made of brittle metal that breaks instead of bends. Front wheels do not stay aligned as the rest position does not find center.

Wow, the power on this RC car is amazing for a battery powered one. I remember when I had use gasoline RC cars to get this same power. The RC car runs well on low cut grass too. I can even buy more powerful batteries to get more power which is a plus. I think this will be a good birthday or Christmas present for kids 12 and older. This car is too fast for indoor used.

This is a great ready to run kit with everything needed plus a second battery. I have owned expensive R/C cars in the past and this kit made me a little nostalgic. For the price this is a great value and if it's on sale it's a no brainer! This is a great kit for anyone who just wants to goof around or for a child who's always wanted their first R/C race car.

This product was delivered broken and never worked right out of the box. Very disappointing to my son. We forgot to return it within the deadline and it’s still sitting in his closet broken.

this tore up within the first year from just driving it around the backyard.. The batteries die way too quick. this was just like throwing money away.

Poor design. It stopped working after 5 minutes! No wonder it was discounted. Don't waste your money.

I'm not a professional RC enthusiast but i thought me and my sons could get a couple hours of fun out of this car. Well thats exactly what we did. took it out to an empty dirt lot near our house and opened it up. This car was quick right out of the box. The first experience didn't last long because the batteries must have been a little discharged already but we got a good 20 minutes of drive time to start. when we pushed it to see if it would go over jumps and humps in the lot it got very squirrely and rolled a couple times but withstood the challenge. The next day after charging the batteries overnight we had some serious fun with the Redcat Racing - Cyclone XB10. We brought our puppy out to chase him and have him chase the car. we got almost an hour of use before both batteries died. I can't advise on the pinion gears, spur gear or gas filled shocks but i can advise if your looking for some fun to have with your kids then buy this product.

Got this for my son. It has already broken under regular use. Very disappointed that it did not even last 3 months.

Battery lasted for five minutes, I returned it ASAP!

Fast and fun, easy to do burn outs and fast take offs

This little buggy is fast and powerful. I bought this RC car as a gift for my nephew and he absolutely loves it. Setup was easy. Everything we needed to get up and running was included in the box; it even came with the AA batteries for the radio.

Great RC car. Love that it includes a spare battery. This car is great for taking outside and driving it on the road or taking it off-road. Lots of fun and the parts are replaceable if you crash them.

Fast, tough buggy with most of the adjustments found on far more expensive models. Most (all?) parts are replaceable, which is good because all RCs break, it is just a matter of repair frequency and cost (both of which look to be somewhat low on this model). It is more than fast enough to practice with, so fast that I wish I could limit the throttle for my inexperienced friends (or when I'm rusty). That is probably my biggest gripe. I dropped the star because mine came without oil in one of the shocks (an easy repair). Good deal at MSRP, great deal when it drops to a double digit price.

Saw this buggy on sale. Already knew about the Red Cat brand. Great deal for car, batteries, and fast charger!

I got 2 for my kids for Christmas and they loved it. Very fast and comes with 2 batteries, one problem with changing batteries requires removal of the car cover other then that still a great car for RC enthusiast. FYI -- I played on a tennis court and had a blast because you can do 360s and spin tires and slide sideways ... great fun!!

My husband has had a ball with this thing. The battery's dies really fast and it's kind of a pain to change it out with the sore. But it drive so well.
