Redcat racing has been around for a while and is really testing the likes of Traxxas. Agin way more value for your money on this Redcat RC. It's not a child's toy. Great for us experience and those looking to start cheap back into hobby

This is a fun RC car and a great way to enter into the world of hobbyist RC cars. All of the parts (including the body cover) are removable, and Redcat Racing even has a website where you can buy additional bodies, shocks, gears, etc. There's plenty of customizability here. It's pre-assembled, but literally everything you need for hours of fun is in the box. The battery is NiMH (no memory - woo!) and there's a spare in the box, so you can charge two before you go drive and you'll get twice the driving time. The remote is a 2.4GHz radio - I didn't notice a way to swap channels or anything else on it, so... be cautious when operating around other cars, drones, etc... using that same bandwidth. On the radio are the standard controls you'd expect: steering knob that can be switched from normal to inverted steering, a steering trim knob, and your throttle (forward and reverse). The remote runs on 4 AA batteries. Everything from the speed to the responsiveness of the car to the turning radius is impressive, and with about 2 minutes of instruction and a little guidance, my 4-year-old was driving this competently. It's super easy to drive; forgiving, fast, and fun. He had it climbing over river rock, through grass, over curbs (when going full speed, the car WILL catch some air over a curb), luckily it also has shocks which dutifully keep the bottom of the car scrape-free. The throttle was responsive and make no mistake about it - the 20MPH on the box is pretty accurate. The steering was also responsive and not jittery. The range on the remote was pretty darn good (it seemed to cover the better part of our street, we haven't yet found the end of the range). The included turbocharger had the battery ready to go in just about an hour. We ran the car through its paces for a good 20-30 minutes and didn't notice a loss in speed or responsiveness. This is actually a realistic RC car I felt OK with my kiddo playing with. It's fast and light enough to be fun without being fast enough to be dangerous or destructive. If it breaks, the replacement parts on Redcat's website are both easy to find and reasonably priced, and many of the components look stock-swappable. This is a solid, entry-level RC car and Redcat has a slew of other models that look like just as much fun.

This car was so awesome it made my kids jealous because I got them different ones. So I ended up buying more of them. They’re really fast for battery operated RC and they work very well as far as controlling them

This car is fantastic. It has great speed and with the shocks and structs it bounces over bumps in the lawn. It is much faster than I expected it to be. I would definitely buy this vehicle again.
