    Excellent dishwasher, but Very small

I have to say this dishwasher was a dream come true; it gets the dishes very clean and is relatively quiet at a pretty affordable price. The downside Is the capacity. While I wasn't expecting much, it at least advertises fitting six place settings, but I don't think that is remotely possible unless you're using children's tea-sets. The schematic included couldn't fit anything of mine as shown. My target dinner plates won't even stand up inside it and close; you have to tilt them at a drastic angle reducing the number of anything you can fit. The diagram also made me laugh as it shows fitting 6 glasses below and six mugs above the glass-holders, which means your coffee mugs would need to be about 2" tall. Overall, I like the dishwasher. It does what it should and I'm happy with the quality. Anyone needing to truly fit more than a few dishes should look elsewhere.

    Great Dishwasher

I just bought this dishwasher and it is great. I ran a light load and heavy load yesterday to test it. It was so quiet I thought it wasn't working at first. The dishes came out clean. Even stuff that I hand washed and thought clean were sparkling. The only downside for me is that I don't have a counter top anymore, but I'm willing to trade that for the convenience. The dishwasher is sturdy with a stainless steel interior. The dishrack is just as sturdy as you would see on a full size dishwasher. You can use the dishwasher tabs or regular dishwasher detergent. However you NEED the rinse aid as it helps dry the dishes. This does not have an optional heating system to dry dishes. But if you open the dishwasher a crack right at the end of a cycle, the dishes will dry quickly. Also make sure you wipe up and rinse aid that splashes as you are pouring. Any left will create suds and could cause unit to malfunction. The hoses were easy to connect to the back of the unit and then connect with included faucet adapter. Just connect, turn on hot water, turn on unit and let it go. I have had no issues yet with leaking. It is a great dishwasher for anyone with a tiny apartment or limited space. It is meant to be used by one or two people and not meant for entire family.

    Fits Apartment Needs

I had researched tabletop dishwashers for 2 years and finally decided to make the purchase a few months ago (September 2013). As an older adult college student, I don't have time to hand wash dishes anymore when my time can be better spent with homework and family. The dishwasher is very quiet, it cleans the dishes (even those with peanut butter), it does not leak, fits perfectly on the counter, and holds a good amount of combination plates, cups, pots, cutting board, and does not damage dishwasher safe plastic containers. I've even washed my wine glasses in there and they did not chip, crack or break. There is a light rinse setting that works wonders! I wish I would have made the purchase right away and did not wait so long. If I had the space, I would have gotten the portable one. I wish GSP was an option on this item as I would have purchased it.

    Truly a "Best Buy"

I have had my Danby dishwasher for almost 2 months now and I could not be more pleased. I have a front load washer that sits right next to my sink so it sits right on top of it. Perfect place! It washes my dishes perfectly! As soon as the cycle end signal sounds I open the door and they dry perfectly. I have recommended it to a friend and she purchased one a week after I did and she loves it too. For the price point you will not find a better machine!

We bought the Danby dishwasher over a year ago and it has performed very well. You can fit six full size plates, glasses and silverware in the machine. Didn't think a small machine like this would do such a great job, but dishes come out spotless!

    I Love This Dishwasher

I have used the Danby Countertop Dishwasher for a full month. I hooked it up myself, no teflon tape required on the unit but I used a little for the faucet adapter. Be extra careful not to get the hose connections cross threaded on the unit and don't over tighten. No leaks anywhere. The hose is about 5' long but 20" stays behind the unit when hooked up. It wouldn't fit under my upper cabinets, it's bigger than I thought, I put it on a rolling cart that works great. My dinner plates are 10 1/4" and fit just fine, my big chili pot and 10" deep dish pie plate also fit . It does a great job on saucepans/glass lids. Everything comes out grease free, clean/spotless even cheesy nacho dishes and the chili pot. Large skillets will fit but take up a lot of room so I wash them by hand. There is an internal heating element to help dry the dishes, they're steamy hot when I open it. Leaving the door cracked a bit helps dry them completely. A rinse agent is recommended, I use cascade complete and it does the job. Making sure the unit is level and cleaning the filters regularly is important. It's easy to operate with the quick connection adapter, I just leave the adapter attached to the faucet. It's big enough to handle all the dishes for the two of us. There's 6 wash cycles I use the normal setting. The jets are powerful enough to overturn plastic containers if they're not secured. I love this dishwasher, wished I would've known about it a lot sooner. The water saving feature was a huge factor for us, I was using far more water hand washing. There is nothing bad I can say about this unit. I use it once in the evening and a days worth of dishes fit just fine. If my dinner plates were too big It would've been so worth it to buy smaller ones. I highly recommend this dishwasher.

After a couple of weeks waiting for this dishwasher to come in, I started looking at it and noticed that the wash arm kept hitting the rack. Turns out the arm is completely broken. Not surprised because it's made out of cheap plastic. Sucks though after spending all that money and not being able to use it. Still waiting on customer service to call me back.

Not Very Useful - Dinner Plates are a Problem

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Not sure what the other reviews are talking about, but this unit, and I suspect all the other similar units, is a non-starter. The unit cannot hold a normal 11" dinner plate; so it does not wash dishes. The baskets on these things require you to load things in specific spots; this causes a couple of problems: first the gaps in the bottom basket mean you cannot just put small items like say glasses just anywhere, and second the detergent dispenser protrudes into the interior space so you cannot close the "dishwasher" door with normal 11" dinner plates inside. Forget about trying to put any pans or skillets in there. Because of the basket design, you can only fit children sized plates and bowls... ridiculous.

I was so excited to get this product! But instead I got a lemon and poor customer service! The dish washer did not clean or dry the dishes! I am disabled so I had to use UPS for pick up and delivery. Which they said they made 3 attempts delivering new replacement and they said they were unable to deliver I don't know how this is possible since i never leave my home! BLA BLA BLA!! I had to call 4-5 times to get the broken dishwasher sent back and now I am being told I have to wait 5-7 business days before i can get my money back!!

Nicely built but keeps arriving badly dented

This is now my second attempt to setup the dish washer. Opened the first one only to find it very badly dented on three sides. I called best buy customer service and they had ups pick it up and send me another one. I received the second one and it is also badly dented. Very frustrated. It looks nicely built. Not sure if it's ups or Danby but this is getting ridiculous. I wish I could post pictures.
