When we had to replace our old freezer, were looking for a smaller one, because our kids are married and we didn't need all that space, and this smaller one is more cost efficient. It's in our basement, and we're down there a lot, and it is VERY quiet. I love this, the only thing is, I wish they would have put a light on it, showing that it's plugged in/working.

Seems to be doing a great job. It's very quiet except for the little vacuum sealing noise right after you close the door. Tons of room without being too big.

This is a great upright freezer for small spaces. Reversible door, lots of room, and great door storage! Perfect for my utility room.

Although only 8.5 cubit feet, it holds a lot. The door almost seals to well as it can be hard to open with one hand. I have not used the manual defrost but am optimistic that it will work well.

for not seeing this in the store. we love this unit. storage great, size is just right our our area. works and runs great !

This replaced my 19 year old chest freezer. It is supposed to be more efficient.

This freezer is absolutely amazing. It is the perfect size for our extra food purchases. It's seals every time and you can hear is vacume seal. The quietest appliance we have in the house.

Good size for my garage, wish it would hold a little more but works very well and is priced well.

Only had a limited space, this fit great and works well. Wish for adjustable shelves, but a trip to Walmart got some plastic shelves to make room more user friendly.

This fit a quarter of a cow & what I had left from venison I had left over, glad I ordered it & took managers recommendation!! Came a week and half early too

For the amount of money you spend compared to other freezers, you get what you pay for.

I wanted a cost efficient freezer,not too big or too small. This is perfect for us. Very energy efficient.

Needed a basic standing freezer, works as advertised

The freezer arrive dented in back. I straightened it all out in an hour or so. It makes weird noises. Since it is only about 15 feet away from our main TV area, this is an issue. It is manual defrost. I knew that. I realized I was going to have to defrost it occasionally. However,.... Items such as a tupperware container of ice cubes turn into a solid brick of ice after a few days. Ice cream containers, even when double bagged in freezer bags, acquire an armor of ice on the top surface of the ice cream after a week or so. Bags of frozen veggies turn into a solid ball of ice after a week or so. I want to trade in this freezer for an auto defrost freezer. One other item that bugs me is that now Best Buy carries this same freezer for half the price with an Insignia label on it. Apparently Best Buy is having Danby build this freezer for them with a Best Buy label and charging waaaaayyyyyy less for it. "I would recommend this to a friend" No only no but he*l no.

It's a nice size, but gets really frosty fast. Had for 4.5 years and died. Luckily I noticed before I had to throw out a bunch of meat. To repair is more than to buy a new one.
