    The store did not have the part in stock when I came for the appointment despite their assurance it was there when the appointment was made. Hence had to reschedule appointment which was very inconvenient .

    Installed it behind the rear view mirror and now I can not tell if it is working .should of been put on left side of mirrow

    ok service, additional $20 for rear camera install

    Installation took 1.5 hours, did mentioned one house before. Charged additional $20 for back camera installation, front install is free.

    Installation did not take long at all, but I have found some things that need to be taken care of . The passenger side grab bar by windshield is either broken or not assembled right and the head liner across the windshield is not installed properly. I had to "dress up" the wiring because they were made too short. I will be in touch with the store concerning these problems. This is the first time I've had any problems with this store. I would recommend this to a friend, but tell them about this problem and to check everything

    Dash cam remains on 24/7

    The camera remains on 24/7 and causes the SD card to have to formatted every day or two. It was Apparently wired incorrectly.

    Added this service to the dash cam I purchased on bestbuy.com and made my appointment. Showed up for the install to be told that I needed an additional installation kit as it was not part of my dash cam materials. (This would have been useful when I was ordering that this product requires an installation kit prior to setting up the appointment. Further, would it make sense at the installation site to have the product installation sets in inventory for not only a local cross-sell but a customer-facing convenience to prevent this from occuring or am I the only one that this happened to?) Regardless, ordered the installation kit while I was there and setup the next installation appointment. The day before the appointment I received an email that the installation may not take place. I call the local Best Buy and inquired if my appointment was cancelled, it wasn't. Then I asked to confirm that the installation kit was in inventory, it wasn't nor was it possible to determine if or when it would arrive. I ended up having to return the dashcam/get a refund for the installation kit which never arrived/and cancel the geek squad warranty weeks after as I could not have the dash cam installed as was promised.

    Went in to get my cameras installed and the tech blew up both my usb connections to my brand new truck and now my CarPlay won’t even work. If you value your truck or car don’t take it to best buy to install anything. I’m skeptical about weather or not they will pay me for taking it and getting a real tech to fix my truck. But I have the managers name and email to send all of the documents. So now I have to take a day off from work. Take my truck to a dealership drop it off. Get a rental because I travel for work. Then wait for them to fix it. When they give me a break down of everything they are doing to my truck to try and fix the USB connections to my car play. This will be an interesting time. While I understand that mistakes happen. I am not as happy to have to turn this whole fiasco into me paying to get my truck fixed and get a rental then getting paid back. In other news the install of the 2 cameras are great. You know what is even better? The fact that my new cameras in my truck recorded the whole conversation I had with the tech working on my truck and the manager. It’s actually fabulous. I totally forgot that the cameras are hard wired. But if anything goes wrong and they say they didn’t say they would pay for it. I have a recording lol. So that’s the upside. Hopefully I can get my truck fixed.

    Part 1: Broken Garmin and Park Mode Fails

    Why I’m reluctant to let anyone else work on my personal belongings is because it’s usually not done correctly. Thought I would give Best Buy a go this time and TRUST Best Buy to install my front and back Garmin Mini Dash Cams, which I do rate 5⭐️stars. Buy two. Well, this is Part 1 of my review because the wiring was not installed correctly and doesn’t work, so it appears it was actually was a mistake to allow Best Buy into my car. Why? One brand new Garmin dash camera was broken (was able to exchange with issues and a hassle) and the camera fails to work; it’s stuck in park mode. Slight damage was done to header too. The questions now are, will Best Buy make it right, should they be allowed back inside to try and fix the situation, or do I go elsewhere for Part 2? I really wanted to give a 5 star rating because one installer was nice and the other was new (and totally and completely unsure of things, which made me even more concerned about the install). I was, however, explicit and clear in asking the installers not to proceed if they felt they were unfamiliar with this install or something may be damaged during the install process, and that it was my preference they call me and/or stop the install at anytime they felt there was an issue - no problem. None of that happened. I just want it fixed correctly without more broken cameras. If they can do it, I’ll write Part 2 and up the rating. As for now I’d recommend avoiding Best Buy installations. I give a 1⭐️ because it doesn’t work, but we’ll see what happens next.

We take our installs very seriously, as we get that trusting someone with your car is not an easy thing to do, so we're honored that you decided to come to us for installing front and back Garmin Mini Dash Cams. That said, the experience you described is far cry from the one we meant to provide. While we always try to get things right, we want to make sure you're covered in case things don't go quite as expected. Our vehicle installations come with a life-time warranty, so our Auto-techs would be more than happy to redo the service and fix their work. If you're not comfortable going back to store that did the original install, that warranty can also be covered by any of our stores that have an auto bay.     camera reboot often. Im not sure if its the power cable connection or the camera itself is the issue. Also wifi connection to the phone sucks. It takes forever to connect but most of the time it will no connect. I have upgraded the camera's firmware to the latest as well. I have contacted the OEM support through phone numerous times but no one answered I finally emailed them about the issue they replied a month later without giving any solutions. I Will not recommend this product to anyone.

    Hooked up my dash cam. Did a good job. Didnt go over how to operate or c9nnect my phone to the dashcam.

    Initially, I was happy with the install. Not so much the camera itself though. I decided to give myself time to get used to the camera. After about a month I was finally able to get it connected to a phone to view footage and realized the rear camera was installed upside down. On top of that, the camera had started having issues with the rear camera and would restart the system several times a day. I tried contacting the store a few times and even left messages but no one would ever answer the phone or contact me back from the install department. I’m not at all happy with this Best Buy, the camera, or the experience. This camera is also NOT worth the money I paid. I feel like Best Buy took me for over $400 and I was stupid not to do more to get it fixed but it’s too late now.
