I wasn't expecting an academy award level movie and it wasn't one. It was entertaining without being overly violent. Being a prequel, you more or less know the general outcome so no great surprises. The movie reminds you that man is reluctant if not violently apposed to anything that is different than themselves. Worth the price for a break from politics and world disasters.

When the first Planet of the Apes movie came with Mark Wahlberg, I was pleanantly surprised but wondered why the reboot. Thankfully, the quality of the movies has remained high and I appreciate that they are not trying to remake each of the original movies but instead explain how the apes came to take over.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" does an even better job of balancing an emotional story with action beats than the previous movie. Both are strong, though, and big improvements over the the feeble entries in the 1970's. It helps that quality actors like Jason Clarke and Andy Serkis are leading the way.

Great storyline! First one was a good build up to this movie. Don't want to give any movie details away, just a great movie. Whether you saw the original movies/series or not. You'll love this movie. More action than Rise of the Planet of the Apes (which you should see before this of course). Highly recommend this.

Let's start with the exclusive case, it is solid,well made, and just cool to look at. Film has solid extras and new takes here and there. Movie quality is super sharp with rich color and detail. The sound is also a strong point and just about amazing. Overall, I recommend this title to any POTA fan.....new or old.

These films are monkeying around. Seriously, they're great films, and some of the most compelling CG-created characters ever made. If you're on the fence about whether CG renders will take over real humans on screen...this trilogy might turn you to the dark side.

Great movie like the way it was a continuation of the first. Like the story line even better then the original and the movie with Wallberg in it doesn't even come close and should even be call a planet of the ape movie. This one is a must see but make sure you watch the firstovie before watching this one.

I like the fact the movie touch on a lot of issues in today's world, we all know it is a fictition movie, but to take a sci-fi, and fantasy movies and relate to today's probems that we have going on now is a plus, the special effects are great!

This movie is another great entry into a franchise that was successfully revived. This blue ray has a ton of extras and is an action packed entry with with great character development that highlights the question of; when is war necessary. Pick it up and you will not be disappointed.

This Planet of the Apes film makes me what to add the others to my collection. I don't think I've seen the one with Mark Whalberg. I did see the one with James Franco, and while it was a good movie...I wasn't moved to buy it. This one makes you want to buy the other. This is just a very sophisticated film.

Normally I don't enjoy trying to retell a story that was already out there but this is an exception. With all the great digital effects available today this has made for a great series of movies telling how it all began. The special effects in this movie are fantastic and the storyline is well conceived.

Modern FX allow this remake to look great. I recommend watching the special features, especially the one about Andy Serkis's work (the same man who played Gollum in LOTR) as Caesar the ape. So impressive. The story is good with the usual holes in the plot (like, why did the police stop chasing the apes after they cross the bridge?), but overall, it's a good time.

I have been a fan of this series since way back. I like how it continued from rise of the planet of the apes. I showed screams from that one new the new and showed how over time how the apes had grow into their own community and how the nature had started to take back over the city. Excellent job.

Awesome sequel to the Planet of the Apes sequel. Cesar grows in his role become the leader of the super intelligent apes. Growing hostilities grow from both the humans and the apes which results in escalation of violence. A great film to watch. Special effects are superb.

This entry really took the series up a notch. I'm curious to see where it goes from here. The emotional depth in the characters really made you care about what was going on. And of course, the quality on the Blu-ray disc is outstanding in regard to picture and audio quality. Buy with confidence!

I've seen all of the Planet of the Apes movies since the original with Charlton Heston. I think this is the best one so far. Exciting and believable story with astoundingly realistic ape characters. Highly recommended!

I believe this is the best Planet of the Apes movie thus far. The 3D version gives the added element of more life like characters. The action was great with spectacular gun fighting scenes. The apes were very lifelike and you see their speech evolution starting to grow. Great movie for all ages.

This movie was awesome!!!! The second in the series with lots of action and a great story line. Caesar was the star of the movie as expected and can not wait until the summer for the next one. 3D was top notch and some of the best I have seen on the LG G6 tv. Must buy!!!!!

A nice sequel to the first movie. No great story twists, but a solid cast (including Keri Russell, who should have been given a meatier role) and likable characters combine with some truly amazing special effects to make an enjoyable movie which clearly leaves the door open for a third chapter in the story. The Blu-ray picture is amazing, well worth the extra cost.

Ape and humans struggle to coexist after the virus of the first movie. This is a movie full of questions, where all sides are examined. Where there isn't right or wrong, only positions straddling the middle. This makes for a intelligent and interesting watch. Plus the cgi is photo real and rich.
