of the expectations set by the original. Rather than a deep exploration into characters and human nature, you get flat character, a predictable plot line, and overuse of CG that just isn't that good. It is certainly entertaining at times (3 stars), but not necessarily worthy of your undivided attention.

I bought this DVD so I could watch it in preparation for the new "War of the Planet of the Apes" movie. This movie is good, but I LOVED the first movie "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." I just think it's king of cheesy how all the apes speak in broken English in this movie.
