I enjoyed the original movies, felt so-so about the Tim Burton version, and absolutely loved this one and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I'm a huge James Franco fan and was disappointed he wasn't in this one but, overall it was still amazing!

This movie was OK not too bad I’d watch it again but just OK

Of the new round of movies, this may be be the best one yet. In fact, it may be the best one when compared to the originals as well. You get to see why and how the apes took power, and you get to see how there was a brief glimmer of apes and man getting along.

where as the 1st one was a really good film this new one has a much better story line and better acting. the special effects are up to the standards of the 1st and beyond. you do not really need to see the 1st one to follow this but it would not hurt to do so.

It isn't often that a sequel is better than the original. This movie blew me away. Action sequences are abound in this one. It was interesting to see how Caesar had developed since the first film. I do recommend watching the first movie before seeing this one.

This was a very good movie that was well acted and provided many exciting scenes. Much better than the earlier Planet of the Apes movies. I was interested in how they did the apes so realistically and, fortunately, the DVD gave me insights as to how they did it in the bonus features. I highly recommend adding this movie to your collection.

I love the direction this new franchise of Apes is going. I liked the previous one a lot, but "Dawn" has amped it up big time. Beyond the amazing effects, the story is great. I've watched it 3 times already. I can't wait to see where they take the next film.

The second film in the newly rebooted Planet of the Apes series surpasses even the first (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) in good old all out entertainment. The story is intelligent and believable and the special effects are stunning.

It's been several years since Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the virus has wiped out most of humanity. The apes have created a village in the giant redwood forest when a group of humans stumble upon the apes while hunting. Problems grow between both races as some feel they can coexist while others want to eradicate the other species.

rare sequel that is better than original. andy serkis deserved nomination for his motion capture for ceaser. great story. Great action scenes. and great performances by the cgi actor . saw it three times. will see it many more times.

Its all about the apes. Any actor who is playing a human is a bit bereft of presence. Even the great Gary Oldman is more just scenery, an object in the background compared to the plight of the apes. The apes appear more human, not that the humans are not... What can I say, Andy Serkis and crew steal the show. And that's not a bad thing.

I missed this gem in theaters but loved the reboot so much I just bought this outright - I couldn't be happier! It's a completely different feel than the first, and while some parts could be a little cliche, it was a great action movie with lots of heart.

Being old enough to remember the original series of POA movies, I was hesitant to watch this new version, but was pleasantly surprised. Of course the newer technology makes for a more realistic presentation of the apes, and the story line is similar to the original movie. I got it for $10, which made it a good deal.\

Motion-capture technology just gets better and better - and so do the Planet Of The Apes reboots.This was a tremendously realistic movie that kept true to the decades-old story and I am convinced that all die-hard POTA fans will love it is much as I did.

This 2nd movie of the rebooted series is excellent - even better than the 1st. The CGI is getting so good, I can't visually tell what is CGI and what is physically real. Great story with lots of action. If you like sci-fi and fantasy, this is a must see.

This is the best movie in the planet of the apes so far. It neatly moves us from Rise of the planet of the Apes and ties together how humans brought about their own demise. These two movies are far superior to the original Ape series. Highly reccomended

I have enjoyed the re-boot to this franchise. I liked the ones from the 70's...it's what I grew up on. But the newest ones are very good. I was a little creeped out in the first movie when Caesar speaks, and to see the "civilization" of the apes in the second one is just as creepy. This is done very well and is well worth watching!

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes picks up where Rise of the Planet of the Apes left off, with tensions growing between the apes and the humans (led by Caesar). An entertaining movie, though not as good as its predecessor (like usual).

Blu-Ray 3-D: I never thought that a reboot of the Apes movies could be done with new viewers understanding the whole Apes story. Excellent CGI and 3D. Very realistic, well acted, and a great script that still reflects social issues in today's society.

If you watched the previous Planet of the apes then you’ll love this one! Really good sequel this is a must own! Best part if you don’t own now is a good time since price has reduced!
