This movie is true to the original movie theme, however the 3D and special effects takes this movie up several notches, if you don't have any issues with the premise of the whole Ape taking over thing, then you will like this movie, it was a bit of a stretch for me at times, but over all a good movie, the special effects are good.

The mostly excellent "Dawn" expands and complicates Caesar's story by showing the aftermath of revolution, when the romance of rebellion has faded and boring old reality sinks in. I admire the bond between human and animal and how each of us at times have to give 2nd chances.

This movie was a great prequel to the last Planet of the Apes movie. Excellent story line, gives you an idea how this whole series started. Had me cheering at the end. Non-stop action with plenty of special effects.I highly recommend adding this movie to your dvd collection.

I bought the 3D Blu-ray without having seen the movie first. The story is good and makes you think, and the effects were believable, although some of the apes appear a little too human. But that may have also been intended to make their intelligence a little more believable.

Extremely happy that they finally put all of the formats I am looking for in a multi-pack into a single product. The only thing that would have made it perfect would be if it had included 4K version as well. Oh well, I guess I can still dream...

I was always wanted to own the 3D for this movie...just waiting for the price to come down...lol ! Nice movie. Some say that this does not match to the first part but I would differ on that. This movie has same level of creativity and entertainment as the first one.

This experience is so immersive, you feel like you are also in the forest, wet, cold and stinky. This is reference material for your 3D setup. Couple darks scenes lacked clarity, but otherwise fantastic and the audio is hauntingly good with a decent surround sound system!

This movie was just as good, if not better than the first. Andy Serkis did an amazing job again as Caesar. Make sure to check out the Special Features for the behind-the-scenes look at how the motion capture works with the actors who play the apes. Definitely recommend it.

love the cgi in this film the apes look real and never do you feel like its fake. the story is well thought out no disappointments and in my opinion better than rise of planet of the apes. its a must for movie lovers of great effects and stories.

I'm a big Planet of the Apes fan and thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The movie tells what has happened since the outbreak of the simian flu from the first prequel. It also explains why Caesar is worshiped as a deity in the later movies through his leadership of the apes.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the rare sequel which surpasses the original. No small feat as Rise of the Planet of the Apes was an excellent film. The 3d was a bonus, and I'm looking forward to the next film in this exceptional series.

I enjoy the first one in this "reboot" of sorts (will it conclude with a new Planet of the Apes after War?) but this sequel is a much improvement on the first. Love the ape infighting and the relationships with the humans much more in this one.

I was trying to complete my Planet of the Apes collection and i was missing the 1st and second movie they were only available as a trilogy set. The image is crisp and the HDR amazing. The CGI holds well the 4k resolution.

However I enjoyed Rise of the Planet of the Apes more and had hoped that this would be as good. It was a decent follow up. There were some plot twists that I liked and over all I would watch it again. It renewed my interest in the series, especially with the 3rd one War for the Planet of the Apes coming out later this year.

Unbelievable followup to "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". Great theatrical elements (sound, visual, emotions, etc.) people look for in movies which hooked me. I'm anxious for the next installment!

I enjoyed the movie. Please be prepared to do a little reading of subtitles. I'm not a fan a trying to read and watch a movie but this wasn't to bad. They left room for a 3rd movie so I hope they do as good of a job with that one as the first 2 should they make it. All in all if you saw and liked the 1st one then add this one to your list to own.

Already owned a digital copy of this movie but wanted the 3D version before they were no longer available. The story is excellent and picks up years after the Apes opener. The 3D is excellent and looks great, you will not be disappointed.

Watched these movies at the theater. My husband loved the Planted of the apes TV series. He has started collecting Planet of the ape movies. Best Buy had this item for a good price. I would definitely shop here for our favorite movies on DVD in the future and would recommend Best Buy to my friends and family.

This was rather good. All actors were ourstanding. I really enjoyed watching the extras because they showed how the actors (apes) completed their scene dressed in grey jumpsuits only later to have CG make them look ape like on the film.

The new Planet of the Apes movies are great at building the story of how the apes came to have their own society. That was missing from the older movie series with Heston. This second one doesn't disappoint. Lots of action. Great story. What more could you want!
