The movie was OK...the animation was decent, but the story seemed to be lacking

When I saw this was on sale I had to add it to my collection. Great price.

Good story with great carton action!! Great take on batman!

My son absolutely loves batman and saw this movie and had to have it. We put it on as soon as we got home, but didn't keep it on long as it is not appropriate for kids.

I thought I was getting the combo as pictures but it's just the blu-ray no DVD or Digital Copy.

If you're a fan of the Dark Knight comic, then this is the essential, must-own Blu-ray. The cinematic presentation is verbatim from the comic. With slight motion added, it is both true to the comic while at the same time taking full advantage of the big screen. The voices are well-cast and the coloring, image transfer and audio effects are well-worthy of owning this and making it a must-have part of your collection. To emphasize, even though this is done in comic style, it is not for younger kids. There are some very scary and intense scenes and themes. PG-13 is well in effect here. This isn't a comic or cartoon for youngsters.

If you're not familiar with the story, this is Batman in the future. He's old & retired. But a gang of mutants threatens Gotham City, and the city once again needs its hero. So Bruce Wayne puts on the cape and cowl again to save Gotham. Little does he know an old foe from the past wants to come back out and have fun with his nemesis. Everything about this movie is done really well and respectful to Frank Miller's original mini-series. Peter Weller as Batman is great. The only thing really bad is Michael Emerson as The Joker. Just terrible casting. He puts no life into it. The video and audio are great. Decent special features. This deserves a spot on your DC shelf.

As a gigantic nerd, the announcement of this project had me worried, the graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, might be the finest Batman story ever told, I feared it would lose something in an animated film, thankfully it didn't. While not always 100 percent faithful to the source material, it's a bold and brave adaption, one that I will re-watch again and again.

The Godfather Collection is one the most impressive set ever released on home video and must be owned if you call yourself a movie fan. The movies look and sound great and it's loaded with entertaining and insightful supplemental features. The commentaries alone are worth it. MUST-OWN!!

Most of the DC Animated movies are mediocre garbage piles, but this movie is the best type of garbage! This movie adapts the classic comic far better than I would have thought possible. Perfect for anyone who likes their Batmans to be fascist.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012) Batman has not been seen for ten years. A new breed of criminal ravages Gotham City, forcing 55-year-old Bruce Wayne back into the cape and cowl. But, does he still have what it takes to fight crime in a new era?

This is a very interesting story told in a very adult manner. Production value is very high and the performances are superb. Getting the 2 part film in one package, especially for the price, was a great deal and a nice bundle.

This is argueable one of the best (if not THE BEST) animated Batman film to date. It's also more mature compared to the previous films. Despite being officially rated PG-13, some parts are almost rated R.

The Dark Knight Returns is not just a great animated movie, but a great Batman movie. I've been waiting for this for years! Not really for kids.

This is based off of the best Batman graphic novel and it translates well to an animated film. This is a must-watch if you even remotely like Batman.

I think I might have missed something with this movie, but I really didn't like it much at all. I rarely buy a movie without having seen it first, but I had heard such good things that I thought I may as well just buy it. Plus it was on sale. I might just need to watch it again, but first time around, didn't do much for me.

This Batman animated is just okay. I would recommend the Red Hood over this one.
