The surprise hit of the year so far, Deadpool brings Marvel's meta-superhero to life in glorious fashion. After a brief appearance in a prior X-Men movie in everything about the character but the casting went spectacularly wrong, Ryan Reynolds redeems himself with his hilarious performance of Wade Wilson, a dying mercenary who undergoes a horrific experiment that turns him into a mutant and who must seek revenge on his former captors...with a little help from a couple of X-Men. Despite that plot being stanadard superhero fare, Deadpool sends up the genre with multiple breaks of the fourth wall, ironic commentary, and a bunch of laughs. However, it still delivers solid action. The Blu Ray contains some very good extras including commentaries featuring Reynolds, the director and writer of the movie, as well as Deadpool's comic book creators. Throw in a SteelBook and it's hard not to justify picking up a copy.
