Deadpool is vulgar, coarse, and littered with bad language. It's also wonderfully funny. I usually find vulgar films filled with bad language distinctly un-funny. Somehow this film walks the very fine line between going too far and going just far enough. Ryan Reynolds' performance as Deadpool is superb. He is a man tortured by the conviction that he cannot force his ugliness upon the love of his life (played beautifully by Morena Boccarin). He breaks the fourth wall often and gleefully. So do the filmmakers - even the opening credits are funny! This movie would have been a massive disappointment had they tried to make it (like most super-hero movies) in PG or PG-13 - it demands an R, and they delivered exactly that. There are stretches of this film which work so much better in 4k than in Bluray or DVD - the sequence counting down 12 bullets, for example - the numbers on the shell casings are crystal clear. This is demo-disc quality, showing off why you've invested in 4k TV and player.

The title of my review should summarize how awesome this movie is. It knows what it is and wears it on its sleeve. Deadpool is by far the funniest super hero movie I've ever seen, laden with cliches that are intentionally and funny. Its over the top, immature humor is blended with great direction and worthwhile story seeing through to its conclusion. It may not be for everyone, but it accomplishes what it sets out to achieve and should be commended for sticking to its source material. Delivering on its premise of mouthy anti-hero, Deadpool deserves all of the praise, and profits, it's getting and then some.

This movie is not for children and some adults as well. There is significant amounts of violence, intense blood and gore scenes, highly intiaminte/lewd content, and stream of foul language. If these are not an issue for you and children are present this movie is packed with action, has hilarious content and very entertaining. It is even better if you are familiar with the comic book character as there are an amazing amount of Easter eggs incorporated throughout the movie. DEADPOOL had me laughing out loud and left me wanting to watch it again as soon as it was finished, which is highly uncommon for me.

As soon as I'd walked out of my first theatre viewing of Deadpool, I knew I had to share the experience with my various family members. This film encapsulates a perfect balance of quirky self-consciousness and auto comedic sequences with lightly taken drama, alongside countless crumbs of comic relief strewn about the most intense of scenes. While tragic in some sections, the film maintains a solid grasp on the viewer throughout in the provision of plenty of comedy to be shared by all. A must-watch for the person seeking a diversion from the annual onslaughts of heavy comic book etc. films from Marvel.

Truly, I hate the character Deadpool with the fire of 1,000 suns, however, this movie is really funny. Not only does Deadpool (the character) break every comic book that he's in, he's just a derivative rip-off of Deathstroke and the people who actually made him interesting (Joe Kelly, Priest, Gail Simone, etc) don't get the credit. He's terrible. That said, this movie is hilarious and Ryan Reynolds does an amazing job with it. Now, when they take this tone and have him appear in the next X-Men movie and he breaks the 4th wall there, it will ruin that movie. But until then, this movie is fantastic.

What can be said about this completely adult-oriented, no-punches-pulled, over-the-top, action/comedy fest, that hasn't already been said before? It absolutely lives up to the source material and is to date one of the best and most faithful cinematic renderings of any comic book character. It's hilarious, gory, hilarious, action packed, funny, and even manages to perfectly balance all of that with an actual love story. An absolute MUST OWN! DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a kids movie in least bit. It IS, however, a movie for adults that is so fun...it'll make you feel like a kid.

As the highest-grossing R-rated movie in the world to date, "Deadpool" lives up to its hype as an action piece filled to the brim with crass, raw humor. After a mad scientist disfigures freelance mercenary Wade Wilson in an experiment to cure his cancer, Wilson adopts the name Deadpool and heads out for revenge--all while mutant strongman Colossus is trying to recruit him for the X-Men and teach him how to be a hero. Filled with pop-culture references from the original comics, as well as from the '80s and '90s, "Deadpool" satisfies one's taste for something completely different on many levels.

I heard a lot of people excited over Deadpool as a comic or graphic novel that contained a lot of sarcasm, dark humor and other incredibly entertaining morsels so I decided to give the film a chance to impress me. While it did not 'wow' me in any way, it also did not bore me as so many other films that have tried to put a modern spin on superhero characters. The movie should not get viewed by impressionable youth, though, because it does contain a lot of references and direct mentions of topics not suitable for younger viewers. Overall, though, I'd give Deadpool an 8 out of 10.

To say Ryan Reynolds is DeadPool is an understatement. Between the hilarious banter, the witty quips, the amazing sword play, the breaking of the 4th wall! Yup there is breaking of the 4th wall. :P this movie is a favorite among my superhero Movie Collection. Ryan Reynolds captures the personality,cynicism, and dirty potty humor that is synonymous with DeadPool. I think it is a must buy for any movie goer and especially for those who had comics when they were young is a must nay, a requirement for your collection. :) Suit was also perfectly captured as well. An amazing movie.

For those that followed Ryan Reynolds career this is a great movie of self ridicule and breaking the 4th wall. Watch for hidden gems and for a lot of jokes about his career. This is a marvel film but for adults. This movie earned a R-Rating and it earned it for a good reason so the content makes this film not for kids. Yes it is marvel but not for kids please. The Best Buy Blu Ray is great because you can rewatch scenes you missed and see little easter eggs that will make you laugh. The only flaw is that i wish the cover would have more of a fun feel that the movie portrays.

I may be biased since I've been a fan of this character long before he hit the screen, but this truly is a stupendous film. Ryan Reynolds portrayed the true essence of Deadpool. I am so pleased that there was a flawless transition of this to the big screen. Deadpool is an unorthodox super hero (to say the least) an anti hero of sorts. Sensitive, easily offended viewers should stay far away due to the film's brand of humor. Anyone else can't help but enjoy the exploits of this highly unusual character that has a propensity for breaking the fourth wall. Watch it and enjoy!

I've had Deadpool II forever, 4k. Been waiting for a good deal on the first one. Saw this one a BB for 13 bucks, grabbed it. Gave away my blu version. Then sat down for a double feature. Same as the hitmans Bodyguard, when this guy does a sequel he tends to get carried away. Still a decent experience.

I laughed, I cried, I questioned my views on morality. One of most entertaining superhero movies to come out in recent years. It's a wild ride, but leave the kiddies in the other room for this one. Ryan Reynolds goes into overtime earning that R rating...and almost went too far! Just a fun, hilarious movie, even if it is rough around the edges...and rough in the middle too. Oh, and the story is not too bad. Reynolds IS Deadpool. The movie could've been just him talking to the camera for 2 hours and it still would've been entertaining. But the action, the hilarious performances, and an overall good story make for a really good movie. Fun fact: Ryan Reynolds didn't need makeup to look like Deadpool. If you shave his head, he looks like that all the time. The steelbook was pretty cool, but just watch out for Magneto

I didn't get to see the movie on theaters...to be honest, I was afraid of THE WOLVERINE Deadpool fiasco and Ryan choice of comic book character interpretations on celluloid, but all that is forgotten and forgiven!!! This movie was the bloodiest comedy I've ever seen in my life! and a perfect translation of the character, with a lot of fourth wall jokes, violent fights, sexy jokes, explosion galore, and a big metallic Colossus that doesn't show up in the movie for 2 minutes. Please do yourself a favor, put the kids to sleep, warm up your chimichangas and enjoy.

great movie, really funny, its a awesome movie that you can rewatch many times

I bought this as a blind buy. I had only seen the trailers and word of mouth for the most part.This is a comic book movie riddled with violence, blood, profanity and a bit of nudity. Despite that, this film was a huge success. The picture and audio quality are top notch. The 7.1 surround sound experience on this disc is superb. Action sequences are loud and clear with lots of good LFE. For the video quality, there is some minor distracting CGI here and there but not enough to ruin the movie. The extras are abundant, and very entertaining. Highly recommended.

Nailed it.... love the deadpool movies and I have watched this one too many times...

Well, they did it! We finally got the Deadpool movie that we have been begging the world of cinema to give us. Let me tell you, FOX delivered a gem of the film! From the opening credits to the surprise at the end it is impossible not to enjoy this hilarious action packed romp of a comic book film. Ryan Reynolds himself even wanted to make his return and give the fans what they truly deserved. We got it all. The quick one liners the 4th wall breaks and the most accurately designed comic book hero costume we have seen next to Spider-Man and Superman. There is a little something for every one in this film and sometimes a little too much for others. However, there is tons of appeal and tons of fan tribute. This film had set the bar for what comic book films need to be, even getting an 'R' rating. If you haven't seen this film yet, I do not know what you have been doing with your life. While there are still faults making this film far from perfect there is still a good time to had.
