Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin), Kurt Russel & Mark Wahlberg all did their parts in this movie... This Blu Ray movie is an action packed true life story for a great price... Deep Water Horizon is a sad but true example of when an employer chooses GREED over EMPLOYEE SAFETY...

Although this movie isnt HDR, the resolution is unbelievable! I recently purchased a Sony 65" XBR850E and an Xbox One X, so I figured I better snag a 4K copy of one of my favorite movies at the same time. I could hardly wait to get home to get it set up. 4K makes movies that much better. Next up is Lone Survivor, The Martian, Interstellar, American Sniper, and Patriot's Day!

Before I go too deep into my critique I have to say the acting was on point, and the action was superb. Peter Berg did a wonderful job catching the emotion of those affected by this tragedy. At the same time, it was too short for it's own good. To be such an important event in our history, not enough was told. I wanted to see more about the aftermath. Yes, we all saw the news coverage, but we didn't see what happened behind closed doors. For utilizing those who lived it that were involved in the making of this film, Berg should've told more of the story. It ended way too abruptly.

But, it was better than I expected. There's more to the story about Deepwater Horizon than the movie portrays and it's an uneven mix between characters and storyline. But, if even any of the film's aspects are true, you have to wonder that anyone made it out alive. And, there should have been a little more character development for Kurt Russell's character since his was the main focus, as well as Malkovich representing corporate - with a little more stress on the contention between the rig managers and the corporate reps, tension to the story line would have made it a more viable drama.

Watched this a few days ago after I picked it up during Black Friday and man, it still holds up extremely well. The 4K transfer is phenomenal and the sound (especially if you have a surround sound) was robust

The 4K picture is so sharp it affects the realistic look of the fire aboard the rig. Other than that the picture quality is excellent as is the sound. A must own for enthusiasts of this type of action movie, Plus you cannot beat the Black Friday price of $9.99! Spoiler alert! Very emotional ending when the movie pays tribute to both those who survived and those who did not.

I remember watching that oil spill of the Gulf of Mexico a while back. Then this movie came out to shed light on the events of that day. If you have not seen this movie, pick it up. It is fast paced action and will keep you at the edge of your seat.

We all pretty much know the general story about the worst oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the loss of lives. However, this movie basically spells out, in greater detail, the events leading up to the disaster and then the utter CHAOS that transpired after the rig caught fire. I thought this was a well cast and well thought out movie. Very believable.

We can all agree movies based on real events usually dont have a good story line because of inaccuracies with the production company and script. Not in this case. This was a very well told story of the events and choices made by BP. The events of that faithful night on the oil rig and the lives of those employees. Just watch it, it's a good movie. You'll enjoy it.

I normally do not watch any films on events that I followed closely on the news when it occurred. This was different because of the great cast. With Kurt Russell AND Mark Wahlberg , two of my favorite actors , in the same movie it was a must see for me.The movie , as one would expect, follows the events that lead to the disaster that occurred on the oil rig Deep Water Horizon. It sets the background up nicely and has plenty of action as the the events unfold. Movie concludes well and doesn't leave you hanging. A very good movie.

This is a excellent movie to show the risk in off shore oil exploration. It shows the people whom bring the oil to shore to be processed into what we use every day. The dangers, life and death accidents that we do not expose ourselves to that keep our cars running. I recommend this movie to those whom want to know the real life of a "Rough Neck." oil worker.

I remember when the Deepwater Horizon was in the news, but I only thought about it as this news story somewhere "out there." The biggest news angle was the release of oil into the ocean and the environmental damage from it. One tends to forget the human side and the real danger of the event itself. It makes for an amazing tale of survival and courage.

Yes this is a Great 4K Disc,Definitely Worth The BUY especially with The Visual Effects, Surround Sound, Acting and Storyline this Film should of definitely should have received Way more Oscar Nominations plus Don't get me started with Patriots Day not getting a single nomination.Peter Berg has Really Directed 2 Powerhouse Films in 2016.Buy this Film Now.

With the minimum prologue to explain some of the techniques of offshore drilling the screen explodes into virtually non-stop action and pyrotechnic special effects as the oil-rig erupts in flames. An incredible piece of movie making, thankfully lacking in environmental or political preaching. Fabulous blu-ray video and booming DTS-7.1/Atmos audio.

I love being able to mirror my Samsung phone to my new Smart tv! The BEST option is to be able to read and respond to my emails/texts while mirroring Netflix. I refuse to pay cable prices for reruns and channels I'll never utilize, I pick ANY Netflix movie or tv series I want and can even watch You Tube, local news etc. Great purchase!!!

Just watch it. It is spellbinding how real the actors make it. I'm surprised anyone came out alive, from the oil rig. It does sows what corporate greed does. It can kill. Kurt and Mark are really, really good. And I loved how human everyone was. Down to the crews fooling around not sensing danger building. So very realistic. Enjoyed it completely.

This is one movie I recommend everyone to see. It shows what happened during that terrible oil rig disaster. I had to watch it several times before I actually got to understand what they were doing there. They were not drilling for oil but for mud that actually tells them there is oil there. Greed by BP was the main cause. Well made and acted movie.

This is yet another movie about corporate greed and influence. I've been interested now due in part to my friend whom is a Chief Mate on oil rigs in viewing this movie. I must say that watching this film has changed my outlook on what those brave men and women must endure while living out there. I plan on watching this movie again, I loved it!

All star cast of Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Katie Hudson portray events on the Deepwater Horizon and the resulting oil spill. It portrays what went wrong, the horrifying images of the platform exploding in fire and the heroic actions that saved all but 7 that worked on the platform. All actors were superb. A must see!

I wanted to see this movie while it was in theaters but never had the chance to catch it. A few of my friends and family saw it and kept saying how great of a movie it is. When I finally was able to watch it, I have to agree with what everyone is saying. It is truly an awesome movie and such a sad event where greed came before peoples lives.
