This movie depicts the absolutely horrifying events that resulted in the gulf spill. It is riveting how peter berg builds the tension and keeps building it until it literally blows up. Solid movie and great performances.

The HDR on this is very good and so is the Dolby Atmos track. The sound is very immersive in a home theater environment with objects flying all around and the ambient sounds giving you the feel of living inside the movie

You obviously know where Deepwater Horizon is headed before you even start watching the film. But while the subject matter is Not "Fun," the film itself is very well done, with excellent effects and a believable cast. Not a movie for younger kids.

Once again Peter Berg(director) and Mark Whalberg pull off an amazing movie about the the survivors and heroic actions of the BP oil spill. Second film these two have worked together on and it just keeps getting better. Full of action, heroism, and drama, this will be a film you watch a couple times just to show other people the movie.

This film is based on the real-life event where a floating oil rig experienced a series of catastrophic explosions in the Gulf of Mexico and ultimately sank with the loss of several lives. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell and John Malkovich. The acting is fine, the build up to the explosions produces substantial tension even though the audience knows the rig is going to explode, and the visualization of the explosions and aftermath was well done cinematically. Well worth watching!

I have seen this movie in the theater. I bought the disc mainly becauseof the great reviews for the audio. The soundtrack is awesome! The atmos fills my home theater setup.

I really cannot comment on the accuracy of this movie, but it is an excellent movie. There is not a slow minute in it. I especially like that since it was a horribly unnecessary incident, there is no attempt to justify.

Based on the real-life footage during the credits at the end, I have to assume that most of the film's character portrayals are accurate. Actors were cast well for their roles, and the film did an excellent job at making the viewer feel as though they were actually there as the events took place. Was a great view in 4K/HDR.

This movie is based on real life events. Mark Wahlberg does an amazing job portraying the main character. It keeps you on the edge of your seat almost all the way through the movie. Such a tragedy this happened. True corporate greed at its best!

This one will keep you squirming in your seat. Sound and picture was top shelf . I wouldn't have wanted to be working on that rig!!This one was well done & acted and will give the A/V system a real workout. To think this actually happened is scary.

I bought this blu-ray because it is a real demo disc for a subwoofer. Just got a new SVS sub and this movie really puts it through it’s paces. Highly recommended!

One of the best disaster films in recent years comes home in an pristine HD transfer that makes for an excellent demo experience. Stellar video quality is matched with a Dolby Atmos track that makes the best of what's possible in a home theater today. A great package along with the included DVD and HD digital copy.

Excellent movie and story. Mark Wahlberg and the all star cast was fantastic. Very good story. It would have looked great in 4K but It was not available. Can’t wait to see the new movie coming soon.

Picked it up because it was on sale and my wife and I enjoyed. Great action scenes and special effects, even if the story was somewhat thin. Film builds tension very effectively and holds your attention. Our gauge that it was an effective film? We put it in at 9 o'clock and my wife remained awake for the whole film! Seriously, she was talking about it afterwards and the many points where things went wrong. We discussed for several days after but it was an enjoying film.

The Dolby Atmos 4k version is worth the purchase. The sound effects and the fact that this was a true event make for watching this movie more worth the while.

Sometime movies are needed to know the reality of the world we live in. This movie tells the harsh life of the oil industry. It is so easy to pump the gas in car and ask for cheap prices, but by looking at the life of the people who drain it from earth truly needs more than a thank you for those who serve us.

I’m a great fan of true to life stories and Deepwater Horizon was a thrilling tribute to the men and women of this industry Mark Wahlberg Kate Hudson and the rest of the cast were superb Suspenseful full of edge of your seat tension,this movie was awesome and unforgettable at the same time Kudos to the cast and crew Well done

This was a fun movie to watch. You knew that something bad was going to happen so to see what caused the explosion and led to that was really cool. The reactions of the crew and the eventual rescue of them was well done and had lots of drama and sacrifice as people tried to get to safety or get others to safety.

This is not a preachy film, but focuses on the events without politicizing them. It doesn't shy away from placing the blame where it's deserved via corporate greed. Is entertaining as an action flick and you may learn a thing or two about offshore drilling that you weren't aware of.

Mark Wahlberg is at his best in this movie. Based on a true story this movie takes a little bit to get going. But once it does, it keeps you on the edge of your seat with realistic action. Wondering if people are going to live or die keeps you watching with more and more anticipation as the movie goes forward.
