As an engineer who works for a major oil company (Not BP) and who spent years working a 14 days on/ 14 days off schedule on deepwater production platforms (what gets put in place to produce and transport the oil/gas after the rig has drilled the wells) I think this was a fairly accurate, and entertaining movie. It did embellish, as others have said, things like "dinosaur oil" and finding fossils in well cuttings. It's the decay of micro organisms, not a bunch of T-Rexs that turn into oil and give the term "fossil fuel". Also it failed to mention a lot of other contributing factors, but gives the common moviegoer a good sense of what life offshore is like and perhaps why oil is so expensive with all the equipment and tests that are necessary to safely produce oil and gas, some of which BP shortcut.

The movie is based on a true story. Excellent sound throughout. A good test of a home theater audio system.

Sweet Movie.. Pins and needles all the way till the ending. Won’t be disappointed. Have your popcorn in hand.

I think this is a must see film. This movie had me on my toes. I don't understand the bad reviews. I think its not only an important film to see to be reminded of what happened, but its important as a tribute to those on board the deepwater horizon. A horrific event it was, but the movie does an excellent job. Mark W did a excellent job, The acting is spot on, the suspense level is sky high, I really don't understand how this could be viewed as a flop. I saw the movie with a group and everybody was shaking with adrenaline at the end. Everybody I was with thought it was good. It did not paint BP as bad as they really are, it did show some blame, but clearly not all the ways in which they were cutting corners. I really think this is an important movie to see.

This is a good movie for the whole family. Purchased it for $5 on black Friday to add to our movie collection.

Watched most of it on a plane and never got to see the last five minutes. Looking forward to it.

Well executed dramatization of the recent oil rig disaster. Excellent use of HDR and Dolby Atmos.
