Best Sounding Outdoor speakers for the price range

I have used these speakers at 2 different houses. The first one... I used 2 on a downstairs Patio and 2 on an upstairs patio. Then I had an additional 4 in the back yard. (2 in each corner) They sound amazing!!! I have listened to many other brands and types of speakers at a lot of different houses / these are by far the BEST!!! My current setup is 2 under the patio cover and 7 in the yard and I have added remote power controlled wireless powered 12 inch Klipsch subwoofer under the patio cover to my current set up to give it the extra bass when needed for a large party. I have powered both of my homes with a Yamaha Aventage 9 channel amp at 125 watts per channel maximum. I like using the 9 channel amp because I have 4 of the speakers and a center channel on one side of the yard near the Firepit and BBQ area and then another pair on the other side of the yard and then the last pair under the patio cover. This gives me the option of running 2 channel stereo near the Firepit by itself or 5 channel for the entire one side of the yard or add zone 2 for the whole yard and then add zone 3 when I have a large party or I can run them individually when desired. About the speakers..... they sound amazing at low, medium, or high volume. I have had these speakers for 3 years in the current home and 4 years in the last home and have had ZERO problems with them. Make sure to run at least 12 gauge wiring if possible. Also of note... the Yamaha amplifier can adjust the delay between zones so that you get an immersive music playback without echoing from different lengths of wiring in the yard. If you have this many speakers and don't do the delays.... you would then have to have equal length wiring for all speakers with slight adjustments for speaker locations which is difficult. I have had numerous friends and neighbors buy these same speakers without any problems with theirs as well. Buy the white ones and then paint them the color of your house or walls wherever you are going to mount them.

    Absolutely Incredible

I purchased these about a week ago to have for a zone 2 on my yamaha rx-a720. I have not gone through the recommended break in procedure or time, but I must admit these speakers sound incredible. Sound quality is crisp on the highs and perfect on the lows. I would reccomend these to anyone wanting outdoor speaker. I would even consider them for indoor use, they almost sound better than my indoor setup.

    Def Tech 6 1/2

I was looking for some outdoor speakers and was leaning toward Bose 251 until I heard these Def Techs. They are a little higher in price than the Bose but the sound quality is excellent. I also like the fact that you can paint them any color to match what they are mounted on. Installation was very simple with the provide mounting brackets as it took about 10 minutes to mount both after the wiring was ran. I listen to several different CD today on them all of them were spectacular. Vocals, bass, string instruments were all crisp and clear. I'm planning on buying another pair for my shop they sound so good.

    Just right for the party!

After looking for a set of speakers that would not blow the budget, but also not sacrifice the quality of sound, we chose these D.A. outdoor speakers. The installation was easy. We have ~550sqft patio and there is plenty of sound, including bass to be felt. It is hooked up to volume control switch just inside the door running off a Denon DRA-397 which handles five sets of speakers in the house.

Sound good, but durability is questionable

Although these speaker sound great, they have frequent failures I've used the for only 3 seasons and I've had to replace the subwoofer and tweeter. These do not appear to be very durable for outdoor rated speakers.

I just ordered some new grills for my speakers and decided I should write a review for these speakers. I don't know how long I've had these but it's been at least 6-8 years and they still work great. For the last 4 years the house has been an AIRBNB so they get used a lot and still going strong!

Bought these in 2013 and I use them almost every day. Bought them for my deck but ended up liking them better than I thought I would. Now I have them in my home theater with a Rythmik Sub to bring in the lows. They sound clear and smooth and are more wife friendly then my old Infinities and Magnepans.

    Poor durability. Poor customer service

Sounded amazing initially. I bought 4 of these 2 years ago. I just plugged them in and one of the speakers is dead. I opened the case and the inside was a mess. Corrosion over the wires and board. Tested for current which goes into the board but dead on the output side. Contacted customer service and no response. One of the last 3 is also failing. The woofer doesn't work only tweeter. Tested all wires and connections. I am very disappointed since Def Tech is usually a quality product. I have all def tech for my surround system. I am off to buy Bose.

Blew both in less than a month. Bad customer servi

I installed two of these speakers in my back patio and in about three weeks blew out both of the tweeters. My whole system in my house is difinative speakers which I brag about all the time and very proud of. I did not purchase the cheap ones. I was super excited to get these outdoor speakers of the same brand as my indoor speakers. They are not cheap and I was very disappointed after talking to definitive customer service thinking they were going to send me new speakers which I did not want they sent me to new tweeters which I had to have installed myself. I take my sound very seriously and entertain often I was very embarrassed and disappointed That I blew out my speakers in less than a month And then hugely disappointed again to have the customer service just send me two tweeters without any directions or advice on how to disassemble and install the parts they sent me And this is after I told them I did not want those speakers I had already purchased new ones which are electro voice and running them off the same receiver and I have had Them maxed out and They did not miss a beat.

I purchased these speakers hoping to get good, clean sound outside. They are rated for 200 watts each and sounded pretty good in the store. Unfortunately, one of the two failed completely during an outdoor party I had shortly after installing them. My receiver is only rated at 100 watts per channel so I'm sure the failure wasn't due to overloading. The store readily replaced it, after the party, but the weather has turned since then and I haven't had much occasion to use them. They sounded pretty good for the first hour though. First speaker I've ever had fail.

I was sold these speakers by magnolia audio inside the mt laurel store. Bit the bullet on price because they sounded good and salesman said it was great "outdoor speaker". IT SUCKS. CUSTOMER SERVICE AT BEST BUY is worse. on hold for 15 plus minutes with 3 different phones trying to reach my laurel store. Got hung up on and on hold again almost 40 mins and they haven't even answered the phone. Looks I'm I have to go to the store and raise heck.

They are supposed to be top of the line. I blew both speakers after a month and they were replaced under warranty. 3 months later another one blew had repaired on my dime. Just blew both again. I have a set of Yamaha outdoor speakers on the same amp and have never blown them and they are 7 years old and cost $79 for the pair. Only problem is I cannot get my money back to buy a real set of speakers.

Terrible speakers. sounds great for a few minutes then blow. cannot handle a sonos amp at under 70%. 125w per channeland both blew in under 30 mins. Terrible quality. If you have a sonos amp and are planning on running these speakers, DONT! Going to try rhe sonos speakers next.
