Best Buy installed these outdoor speakers and 1 only lasted 5 months until it stopped working

When we purchased our house, the speakers we had on our deck were fine. When the subwoofer blew, I was angry that I had to replace them. But after replacing them with these Def Tech Outdoor speakers, I wish I would have replaced them sooner! These speakers are unreal. Great sound quality throughout the upper ranges, and great bass. I have a feeling my neighbors will be complaining if we ever have an outdoor get-together! I would put them anywhere I needed audio outdoors!

These speakers sound great! We have a small backyard, so I'm sure the neighbors 3 houses away can hear our music now, but at least it sounds fantastic. No crackles with theater sound quality. The only complaint I have is that they are a little bigger than we originally wanted, but they sound a lot better than the smaller versions of outdoor speakers. I would purchase again.

Firs- the sale price of $159 is hard to beat- regardless, these speakers deliver impressive sound. These speakers are relatively large, which is not apparent when viewing online (who looks a size specs right?). I installed the pair under my deck, facing our pool, The sound is terrific, although the bass not as pronounced as I would like, but in reality I doubt any other speaker of this size, when used in an open air environment, would render a marked increase in bass response. Mid and high sounds are crystal clear, and the dispersion simply perfect. No regrets on this purchase.

I enjoy these speakers. They have plenty of power for my small porch and create a nice sound image. I am still waiting for the full break in, but so far the sound has become increasingly warmer over time. It was a little tinny to begin with but it is rounding out nicely. One thing I will say is that the Definitive Tech customer service is top notch. One of the screen covers was rattling due to a poor fit. Since they were already installed, I didn't want to return them. I called Definitive Tech and they sent me out two new screens, no questions asked and very promptly as well. One of the replacement screen covers fits perfectly and no more rattle from the bass. After living with these for about two weeks now, I can say I am satisfied with the purchase.

I don't write many reviews, but these deserved some attention. I had tried the $99 Yamaha outdoor pair initially, which were replacing an old pair of Bose 161. The Yamaha speakers were just ok, and did not sound as good as the Bose. I decided to spend the extra money and get the Def Tech AW5500, and it was well worth the money. These speakers are not only the best sounding outdoor speakers I've heard, but some of the best sounding speakers period. If you like spending time outside listening to music, these are exceptional.

Clear, dynamic speakers with great acoustics. Can be heard clearly around entire 3 acre property.

I purchased these speakers over 6 years ago and have to say that they are great! They're outside 24/7 in hot humid heat, have survived hurricane Irma, and countless storms. Still sound and look like they did the day they were installed. Almost the best audio purchase I've ever made. You Definitively can't go wrong.

Great quality, great audio, best outdoor speaker, they are very durable

The speakers sound great, but I only had them for 2 weeks before one of the speakers blew. I love to here the bass on the outside on my patio, but my wife hated to hear all the rumbling inside the home. I returned the speakers and got the Niles OS7.3 WHIT. They sound great and no rumbling inside the home.

Purchased an open box return. The speaker was in excellent condition and worked perfectly when installed.

I was hoping for more for $400 compared to much cheaper speakers. I have a full set of 8040ST/8060HD/1000s for my HT, and was upgrading my lanai set up with these, but am going to return in hopes the 6500 deliver what I'm looking did. They sound good, but not exactly what I'm looking for.
