Great Speakers, except for the pop

The built in powered sub's have a dial control to let you control the amount of bass they produce. The one gottcha I have is that they produce a "pop" when the amplifier shuts down about 10-15 minutes after you stop listening to anything.

Popping on standby (defective amps)

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a pair of these back in early March, and apparently they have a common issue with defective amps where they will emit a disturbingly loud pop when entering standby. Reviews on Amazon mentioned the same with some claiming it led to blown amps. After five months and three separate support tickets I'm still waiting for replacement amps from Definitive Technology that I'm not sure they'll ever provide before my warranty expires. In the meantime I'm concerned that using them will cause damage to the amps or speakers. They sound great if you end up with a working pair, the best sounding full range towers I've ever owned, but now I'm wishing I'd just refunded them and purchased something else. They are way too expensive to have to deal with amp defects and perform self-service on a new unit out of the box.
