Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the BP-9020's exceptional sound quality, encompassing impressive bass and clear highs. Many appreciate the ease of use and powerful performance, although some find the speakers large and heavy. Positive feedback also highlights the Dolby Atmos feature and sleek design. While the price point is noted by some, many feel it's justified by the overall quality.

Amazing Looks, Audiophile grade sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've auditioned several dozen pairs of high end speakers in my house and by far the DefTech's were the absolute best. Their bipolar design helps radiate the sound much better and reduces projection and creates a much wider listening stage.

Can’t go wrong with 9080ST
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the 9060ST and was impressed but decided to upgrade to the 9080ST’s. What a difference! I am powering them with a Marantz SR7012. With the 9060’s I would listen to movies at volume level 60 - 65 but with the 9080’s I listen at volume level 52 - 55 which I suspect is due to the sensitivity level being a bit better on the 9080’s. The other reason I wanted to upgrade is for the 12’ sub’s vs 10’. I’m glad I made the change. These speakers are pretty amazing and I will enjoy them for years and years to come. Don’t forget to compliment these with the 9080 surround channels.

Great...Until They Break and They Will!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long term review so please read before you buy!!! I bought my Def Tech 9080X's and CS9080 in October 2017. My home theater setup includes the Def Techs and B&W rear and ceiling speakers for a 7 channel setup. It's phenomenal when watching any movie, but especially an action flick. The Def Tech speakers were fantastic but I then started having problems in April 2020 with my right tower where the amp would intermittently turn itself on and off during a movie until the amp finally went kaput. As soon as that happened, the left tower began doing the same thing. The tell came when the amp light on the rear of the speaker began flashing red and blue (normally solid red when on), which is imminent the amp is abouto break or catastrophically died already. I unfortunately chose not to buy the BB extended warranty because the manufacturer had such a great 3 year warranty....BIG MISTAKE!!! (Note to self, bit ticket spending, BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY) Mind you these speakers have come down in price, but I paid north of $3000 for both towers. I made a claim with Def Tech and they said they would send me new amps the next business day. I waited a couple weeks, nothing, so called again, was told they would send them out ASAP, but they were backordered and should be there "any day". Customer Service was always friendly, but it never seemed they actually knew what the heck was going on with their inventory. After several phone calls and wasted time on the phone, there was no date they could give me because COVID had impacted their supply chain. I suggested they cannabalize a new speaker since they were still shipping products or just sent me new ones, but they said no and I would get them shortly. Finally, after 4 months, the amps showed up, unbeknownst to me at more door which Def Tech was supposed to supply me with the tracking number which they did not (came FedEx). Luckily I am electronically savvy, or I would have had to pay someone to install it because Def Tech only covered the part. I was quite disappointed when I cracked them open to replace the amps to discover that nearly all of the parts...possibly the entire speaker, are manufactured in CHINA!!!!! Yes folks, the expensive speaker you are purchasing from a California based company is from CHINA. That really made me wonder what it is that makes these speaker so dang expensive. The amps fixed my issue and I was off again with my stellar system....until August 2021 when the new amp broke....FOLKS thats less than a year and its trash and I am outside my warranty now. Every single reviewer on these speakers will eventually have to deal with these amps. Some shortly after purchase and others just down the road. The electronics in these amps are garbage and have absolutely no quality with a short life expectancy. If I could redo my purchase, I would not buy these. I was really hoping for 8-10 years out of them for the price tag, but here I sit before you just under 4 years with broken speakers!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Great tower speakers despite higher Covid prices
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Crazy what Covid has done to pricing on electronics. Bought these tower speakers back in 2018 and the price was $200 less than pricing today. The center speaker in this line was $300 cheaper in 2018. Glad i bought my home audio setup back then because I would easily pay more than a grand more on my setup if bought today. Overall these are great tower speakers. Highly recommended.

Good for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They are okay speakers for the price. I would say in Bose category of just okay but not as good as B&W and others. I am using with a B&W center mostly for movies. I don't really like the bass and turn down almost the whole way but overall they are okay for movies and okay for music. Not as great especially at low levels as really good speakers but really good speakers just cost too much for me.

Underwhelmed!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good speaker, but I was not overwhelmed with the sound. I was looking to transition from a pair of Klipsh tower speakers which were about the same size as the BP-9060s, but they weren’t as loud as I thought they would be. Good product and maybe better suited for a smaller rooms that doesn’t have vaulted ceilings.

Plate amp failures / poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great until the plate amps fail. And trust me, they will. I would avoid any speakers with plate amps. And to top it off, def techs customer service is not great at all. Purchase at your own risk, there's no telling when you'll get parts to replace your speaker.

9060 WON'T LAST LONG!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They sound amazing but the subwoofers will go out on you i guarantee it. Look at the other reviews and you'll see the trend. They sell it to you that you wont have to replace it for 15 years!!! But they'll only last 2 or 3 tops. Buy something else.
