Insanely Complicated to Set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product will sound great once the 4th person trying to figure it out gets it going. The days of just plugging speakers into a receiver are gone. you actually have to set you system up through a TV and link everything. Big hassel!

New Yamaha 660 Receiver Head Unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While watching a movie my left speaker began to rattle, after isolating it from the other speakers, I found it was blown. so I returned the Definitive Technology - ProCinema 600s.

My first surround sound system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this system for my new apartment. They were very easy to set up and the sound has been outstanding. The best thing is these speakers are small an unobtrusive for my small living area' but carry great sound.

Great satellite surround sound speakers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Multiple set up options, amazing sound, various mounting options, small., piano-black glossy paint job. The subwoofer tends to travel a lot on hardwood and tiled floors when the bass hits, so may you need to place it against a wall or put down some rug or carpet cutouts or make holes in your floor for the "feet". These sound incredible in small to medium sized rooms. If you have a larger room, go with the DefTech ProCinema 800 or 1000 models.

Beginner speakers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this system I blew 2 fronts in a matter of hours I had to much power for these. if you have an A/V about 80 watts these would work.

amazing sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these when my old speakers needed upgrading for my new 4k LG TV! Couldn't be happier as the surround sound audio is amazing! I like to play the sound load (around 70 on the vol dial) and the speakers blow you away! The area in my family room designated for the media area is 15 x 20 and I find the audio to be rich and encompassing! Grant you the only draw back is the sub woofer, appears to "blend" with the center and 2 front speakers, but you still get rich bass tones and precise trebles! (If you like the big booming sound this woofer won''t give you that but rather a wonderful blend of basses making it great for movies) Very very pleased with the purchase!

Amazing sound for the size
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this system with my new pioneer receiver. I initially purchased this as an open box and had MULTIPLE issues. Best buy was great about taking care of these. After having the subwoofer replaced (initially had NO output), then having one of the surrounds and the center channel replaced (blown speaker), this thing sounds great. Lesson learned - buy new next time...because this system sounds amazing now! I listened to multiple setups, and was torn between a Klipsch system and this one. After listening in the Magnolia HiFi rooms...I decided on the Definitive Technology system, and have not regretted it at all. Yes, you can buy 5.1 speakers cheaper than this....but you'll get NO WHERE NEAR the sound quality. VERY loud if you want them to be...with incredible, precise, crisp sound reproduction.

Better than BOSE, Still Available in White
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set out to buy white HT speakers for main living room where I actually care more about appearance than sound (my main sound system is in another room). Therefore it had to be white. Was going down path of buying used white Acousimass (they don't make white anymore# when I found these. Went to Magnolia to hear them and I was convinced! The satellites and center speaker are far more substantial than more expensive Bose Acoustimass. The sub is compact but fine for my needs. BB was running an incredible package deal when I purchased #$450 off when purchased with Denon AVR2113CI). That deal was so sweet that I returned the Onkyo AVR I had just ordered on Black Friday. The Denon/Def Tech combo is very nice - the Audessy automatic EQ really tuned in the balance and crossover point. I ran the fronts direct rather than using the crossovers in the sub to avoid the hassle of fishing all the extra speaker wire, It sounds fine that way. Also, had to upgrade to the larger speaker mounts to get white which cost extra but probably worth the extra stength. Some people complained about paint quality of the mounts but mine were all fine Would definitely recommend. Go to BB and listen.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgrading my older living room theater system.I was looking at being better than budget but not breaking the bank. I did research on Magnolia products and choose most of them. I purchased the Epson 5030UB Projector. Samsung 3D Blu-ray player, Pioneer VSX-80 receiver and the Definitive Technology ProCinema600 5.1 speaker system. I was originally interested in a Bose system but when I heard these at a Best Buy Media room, I was blown away. Crisp and clear highs with low adjustable bass. We watch alot of movies plus we have a wide range of music. The 600's hit every note and didn't miss a beat. Best buy had the wrong price marked on them and they honored the lower price. What a steal.

Great sound; read for tips on sub setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price of this system, it sounds phenomenal. Def Tech has some innovative tricks for making such small speakers sound so nice. Can't complain about the price point either. ***A note about the subwoofer*** I've read many complaints about the sub, about it being dead on arrival, needing to power it on/off manually, etc. I thought I had an issue at first, but opted to email Definitive. I received a response within a couple of hours. The trick is that the sub needs a strong enough signal coming from the receiver to trigger the auto on/off switch. Even doing the auto calibrate on the receiver may not take care of this. Every receiver should have the ability to manually increase/decrease the level of each speaker (usually a range of -10 to +10). Def Tech suggested setting this level for the LFE (subwoofer) channel to a range of +3 to +5. Adjusting this solved the problem!!! I did have to fiddle with the crossover frequency knob and the volume knob on the sub to find the right balance, but that only took a few min.

Great step up system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As I said in the summary this is a great replacement system from the one I had which was the klipsch quintet III with a pioneer vsx-971 receiver. In this new system im getting all the highs and mids that were missing from the klipsch and the sub absolutely rocks although it can sound a bit muffled at times possibly due to the bass radiators. my new denon x1200w receiver does a great job of handling the frequencies needed to perform at a high level with this system and so far I am very happy with the purchase of them both!

Theater Sound Systems - Size Matters
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My room is 20X16. I had a non-HDMI, 5.1, JVC 100 watts chan rec, with JBL 10'' sub, Polk CS1 center and 4 old JBL L20T's bookshelf speakers. The system rocked that room but I could not use it on the new flat screen HDMI and it was pretty bulky. I got the Denon 2113 / PC600 package and added 2 800 series Definitive speakers. The PC600 is 5.1, adding the two larger 800's for the front channel gave me a 7.1 system. Well after getting everything dialed in, I found the overall sound of the center speaker and subwoofer inadequate so I had to put my 10'' JBL sub and the Polk CS1 back in. Since the center speaker does most of the work in these systems, I ran the CS1 in tandem with the Def. center speaker, CS1 is hidden. This config gave me back the full tones I was use to since the Def. center by itself was way to tin can sounding. As for the poor little Def. 8'' sub, at high volumes in a larger room it just crackled under the strain. I also ran it in tandem with the JBL on the other side of the room so I used all the components I purchased. End result is it not only looks great, it sounds better than what I had since it’s 7.1 and the sound clarity is better. Here’s what I learned from this – larger center speaker and sub woofer, better overall theater sound experience.
