Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After carefull consideration i chose these speakers over the mirage nanosat. I was using a bose acoustimass 10 system. But i decided that i needed an upgrade while is moving into my new home. I originally was going to buy the mirage system until i heard these. The sound is so much more crisp and detailed than the mirage. I listened to both and also played music on both sytems and this system sold me. I have no issues with watching a blu ray or listing to music with this sytem. It sounds great with both. The sub can be a bit boomy at times but for such a small unit you can't beat it.

Great Pair of Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I acquired these speakers after selling my Def Tech BP7004 for the sake of space. I have had these speakers now about 4 months and they truely amazed me. I wasn't to sure what to anticipate with smaller satalite speakers because I'm accustomed to towers. The setup is a 2.1 configuration: 2 ProCinema 600 L/R Fronts and a Def Tech SuperCube 1 subwoofer. The SuperCube 1 have been the pride and joy of all my prior setups. At 1500 watts nothing really can compete with the accuracy. A/V receiver is an Onkyo TX SR805 @ 130 watts per channel. I admit I lost some depth in the midrange moving from towers, but I didn't loose enough that would make me go back to my towers. I use them mostly for music, and for this purpose I have them wired through the SuperCube 1. Wiring through the sub gave them more body and a thicker soundstage. The highs are crystal clear and they can handle anything that I throw at them. I've been thru multiple other satalites that went to Craigslist not long after purchase. These little gems are marvels and the sound is incredible. They do have to be broken in. Before the breaki-in they appeared rather echy, but smooth out after the 40 hours subsided. They are great for movies, I sampled them with the "Pod Race" for Star Wars Episode I and they handle the grunts and roars of the pods flawless, I was so immersed that I didn't realize that my towers were missing. Really great speakers. You would definately want to upgrade the sub on this speaker system if anything. Nothing is better than a SuperCube at 1500 watts that can keep up with the smaller drivers accuracy.

Excellent Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect speakers mathcing my Marantz SR5007. Replaced my bose cinemate in the living room and Definitely a paradigm shift in watching movies. Doesn't come with wires and banana plugs. In way that's better as you can stitch these based on the size of you movie room.

1st time home theater owner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker system is for a smaller setup. It works well in my condo. The subwoofer is a bit boomy but the speakers sound great for their size and look stylish.

Great sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome sound from a smaller set of speakers. Replaced an older Boston Acoustics setup and I haven't regretted it one bit. Sub is a bit 'boomy' but it could be due in part to my room configuration (wood floors, sub in corner).

Best buy's best home theater speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You will be blown away by the sound of these small speaker, bose has nothing on these. Give these speakers a try and compare them to others, and you will see that bose is so over rated. The only home theater speakers that came close were the mirage nanosat but the definitive had the edge on quality. Pair these up with a good receiver and you will see what you have been missing out on!!!

Best sub $1000 satellite system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker system shines right out of the box. It handles dynamic movie soundtracks very well, and yet at the same time has a perfect music tonality. The sound it not too bright, and is very warm when listening to multi chanel audio such as DVD Aduio and SACD. I would highly recommend purchasing this speaker system to anybody that wants a great sounding all in one speaker system, made by Def Tech. Other systems demoed: Polk Audio sub/sats Yamaha Infinity

Great speakers for money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these while converting to surround system in living room. They sound good and they were also, on sale at time of purchase which came with a subwoofer. The subwoofer is okay if not on sale probably would have chosen different subwoofer.

Great sound at a great price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was going to buy the Bose system. These were rated as the best by several consumer groups. I can't wait to get home each day and listen to them. Music, movies and just watching TV in 5.1 sound is great. I use them with a high end Denon receiver.

Amazing system!! Will not disappoint
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Started shopping around for systems and decided on the Klipsch.......until i heard these bad boys in the speaker room at best buy! I can honestly say this system is better than the bose and klipsch combined. (As i heard a comparison test). Not for the faint hearted as this system will shake the windows. If your looking for cinema quality sound, go with this.

Great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I auditioned these versus a set of Martin Logans and Klipsch speakers. In the store the bass on the Martin Logans was better, but I didn't want to upgrade my receiver to deal with 4ohm speakers. The Def Techs sound great in the house and provide more than enough bass (enough to really shake the floor).

Great Speakers in a Small Package
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these speakers along with a Denon AVR-3808 CI. They replaced a 5 year old Yamaha system and speakers. When I bought my Yamaha system about 5 years ago, I was impressed with how the surround sound put in in the middle of the action. I remember watching a movie where a dog ran into the picture. I could hear him bark from the right rear and as he entered the picture his barks moved "across" the room to the left front. After purchases these speakers and the Denon system, I found that my Yamaha system was only giving me the "tip of the iceburg" when it came to surround sound. Not only was the sound much more realistic, but the separation was much more distinct. Soon after installing the new system, I was watching a re-run on TV. A character left the scene and drove off. I heard the car start in the left rear of the room and then it "drove" off from left to right behind me. Now the caveat: How much of this improvement was from the new Denon receiver and how much was due to the speakers? I can't really answer that, but I can say I am very satisfied with the two products working together.

"Defective" Technology
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My original plan was to buy a Klipsch system but I bought this system because of the good reviews and the sales rep highly recommended it. After getting it home and connecting it using "method 2" and setting it up with a new Sony receiver, we watched one movie and was halfway through a second and the subwoofer made a loud pop and quit playing. I checked connections and everything was good. I called Def Tech the next morning to see if they could help. They advised to return it to best buy for an exchange. Since this was the only one in the store, and my not so local best buy is a 1.5 hour drive, I ordered a new one from bestbuy.com and had it shipped overnight. The next evening it arrived. I connected it, this time using "method 1" as per the instructions. Turned it on and all was good...for 20 minutes. During an action scene it made the sub made the same loud pop as the first one and wouldn't do anything after that. I contacted Def Tech once again, they were helpful and offered to upgrade my sub to a Pro sub 800. I declined, because of the 0 for 2 record. I returned both systems to the store and bought the Klipsch quintet and a 12 inch Klipsch sub and have been smiling ever since.
