Do not ship to your house

Do not ship this to your house. They send it in just the manufacturer's box. My first one came badly beaten up and the screen was damaged. I had to take it into BestBuy to have it replaced. The employee told me to always pick it up at the store, as it travels safer that way.
As for the monitor, there's nothing better at this price. On sale for $360, it's the cheapest monitor with G-Sync, but it's not the smallest nor the lowest resolution.
It's 27" with a 2k resolution, and 144hz refresh rate, MUCH better than the next cheapest GSYNC monitor that has 24" 1080p for over 400 bucks. Really can't get better at this price.
Looks stunning, it's heavy, but its mostly due to the stand. The stand sets up really easy with no tools and feels extremely sturdy. Taking the stand apart is just as easy. The stand swivels and tilts, it's very convenient.
The only real pain in the butt with this monitor is the power button. It's so tiny and flush with the bezel, unless if you have long nails, you have to hold the monitor and really press it quite hard. I need to figure out if there's a remote I could use because it really is a pain.

Great Monitor!

I have a gtx 1070 card. Did a bunch of research prior to choosing this monitor. Was a bit skeptical about the gsynch hype with Nvidia but, decided to go to bestbuy to see if they had this monitor on display. They did and, it really had an amazing picture. Figured I'd give it a shot. It has 144 mhz refresh which makes all the difference. Playing BF1 the gsynch makes all the difference while gaming. Anyway, I liked it so much - I went back and bought two more. I picked mine up while the monitor was on sale for $479 (regular $650 plus I think). Anyway, really impressed... And, for the money, this monitor beat the rest.
The only con I have is pretty picky... But, in fairness, the power button on this monitor is on the bottom right hand corner of the monitor and, it's stiff enough that you need to put pressure on the top of the monitor while pushing the button from the bottom to turn it off. Not sure why they didn't make that a bit less resistant.... Other than that... (so far) no cons.

This is a TN Panel?

Absolutely amazed with this monitor. This is not a normal TN panel. If you are AT ALL hesitant to buy this because it's a TN, don't be. The colors are absolutely perfect and the blacks are dark and rich. G-Sync is a whole other story.... This monitor is just fantastic all around.

my first gaming monitor and it's amazing (coming from a 22'') paired with an i7-8700k and a 1080ti -- looks incredible! There are recommended color and monitor display calibrations on reddit which I highly recommend. Great monitor for the price. my shipped with A07 revision, fyi. lastly, I debated the 24in, but now that I have this on my desk, I love the 27incher!

Solid Gaming Monitor

So I picked this monitor while building my gaming PC. After trying other monitors that i returned which include a Samsung 4k monitor with freesync 5ms and 60hz refresh rate and a MSI 24" 1080p monitor. This one blows them out of the water. The samsung while having a good picture wasn't great for gaming. The MSI didn't have the resolution i was looking for. I found this Dell on sale for $369.99 with G-Sync! what a steal. So far i have been playing some FPS games and a bunch of online games zero screen tears and zero time that the screen stutters. The 2K resolution seems to be the sweet spot for gaming. I'm running a i5 9600k, RTX 2060, and it handles everything i am throwing at it. Best Monitor that I bought for my PC.

Blown away

I was blown away when I played my first game on this monitor. I went from a 1080 P HD TV that I had used for years. I knew that response time and input lag was bad using a TV for a monitor but, I had no idea. I went from hardly ever being able to kill anybody to being a top player with lots of kills first game . This thing is so snappy and the refresh rate and G Sync keep everything smooth. The picture out of the box is not what I like but after using some settings in other reviews with the Nivida control panel it looks very good. I went from a 32 inch to this 27 inch and it is better because I can sit closer to it.
I am very pleased with this purchase sometimes I upgrade things and the difference is slight to none. This really did make a 100% difference in my game playing.

What the doctor ordered

Ordered on a Friday, delivered on Tuesday. Exactly what I expected and wanted. I have a 144hrz, 1ms, 1080p 24", non Gsync Asus monitor so the initial colors were expected. After a little tweaking, I am about 2/3 the way to IPS colors. The Gsync is worth the extra $$$. In a very graphic intense flight sim, my current graphics card could only squeeze out 45 to 55 FPS but there was no stutter, tearing.. just smooth play. The 1440p works that card hard so I will upgrading.
The monitor arrived with the latest revision, no dead pixels and no color banding. I wouldn't pay the $599 price that Best Buy and Dell want currently, but I jumped on the one Day sale of $379 without hesitation and glad I did. Wait for the next sale!

Fantastic monitor. Annoying deep-sleep wake issue
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I don't need to beat a dead horse on how great this monitor is picture wise.
Once calibrated via Nvidia control panel, it's not quite IPS quality of colors, but it's as close as you can get for this price range and feature-set.
However, something that annoys me on a weekly basis is that the monitors will refuse to wake from sleep when connected with displayport. Researching the issue on forums, it seems to be a common issue.
Updating drivers, turning off deep sleep, using different cords, waving magic wands - are all bandaid fixes. The monitors at some point will stop responding if you computer goes to sleep. The only true fix I've found are unplugging the monitors or restarting the computer.
Driving them both with a GTX 1080 and at $1200 for the pair, this issue is bordering on unacceptable for what is a very premium product otherwise.

Dell has quality control issues with this model

I never do reviews. But, feel like I had to this time. Not the fault of Best Buy at all. Its Dell that has a serious quality control issue. First one received developed a dead pixel with in 24-48 hrs of owning it. I would have kept it if the pixel was off to the side or not noticeable. This one decided to develop right in the middle of the screen. Highly annoying against light backgrounds.
Especially white. Your eyes would just be drawn to it. Best Buy sent me another new replacement. Fire it up. Low and be hold. This new replacement has a smudge behind the screen. No way to remove. Its physically with in the screen. I could not believe it. 2 bad ones in a row. All the while Best Buy was being pretty awesome about it. They apologized. When this last monitor was sent out.
They sent it out before me even shipping out the other bad one. They have also provided shipping labels for the returns. So, this one is going back as well for a refund. I give up. Best Buy told me they would flag the product and investigate further. I think they got a bad batch in personally. Both builds was revision A03 May 2016. The one star rating reflects on Dell and not Best Buy.
For the amount of money this monitor costs. Especially when not on sale. Its completely unacceptable. Best Buy gets 5+ for handling it well. In the end. If you happen to get a good one. Its a great monitor. I really enjoyed it when I did get to use it. Gaming was amazing with a GTX 1080 powering the monitor. G-Sync was buttery smooth as well. I have 2 other Dell monitors that are highly rated and reliable.
They are the Dell U2412M and Dell U2415. I have had zero problems with those monitors. I hope Dell resolves the quality issues with this Dell S2716DG

for 450 dollars this cannot be beat. upgraded from asus vg248qe and super happy i did. recommend at least a 1070 and an OC i5 to make this monitor worth it. 1080 would be preferred though.

I've looked into tons of 1440p 144hz monitors including plenty of IPS, VGA, and TN panels. I've even bought 2 different monitors one IPS panel and a TN panel both had problems and the reviews proved that. After a week of ownership with both of them I returned them. The next monitor was this one, the reason I went with Dell was because of their great quality control, hardly any of their panels came with back-light bleed or dead-pixels mine included. I've owned it now for about 2 weeks and it has served me quite well, no problems at all, and the viewing angles are almost just as great as an IPS. For only paying 499$ I'd say this was an amazing investment.

Pros-Awesome Specs with 144hz and 1440p, G-SYNC was also a selling point for me. The bezel is also amazing slim compared to my last monitor and the design is elegant not to flashy. Mine does not have any issues i read in the other two reviews no dead pixels and no back light bleed. Dell logo also centered.
Cons- color out of the box could be a little better but Nvidia control panel got mine looking nice. Also turn of deep sleep mode as soon as you unbox this monitor, just trust me.
Other thoughts- This monitor is not IPS so if your a color snob or just want 1000000:1 contrast ratio look else where this is a true "gaming monitor"

I'm writing this review after returning the 24 inch version of this for clouding issues and the Asus ROG 24in. Because of flickering. Finally decided to spend a little extra for this 27 inch and I'm glad I did. Not sure why this bigger size out performed the smaller version, but it does. One key thing, you'll need to change the configurations and the ones other customers have mentioned on the reviews seem to be the sweet spot for me. Game play is very smooth and crisp. Very impressed with the price, considering others with the same specs are a lot more.
