Great TN Panel

Had this monitor for a few weeks, I liked it a lot. I came from an IPS 1440p monitor. While not as great as an IPS it comes pretty close to matching the color output of one. If the $700 IPS 144hz 1440p monitors are out of your budget this is the next best thing.

I bought this to be used for gaming. Every game I play looks awesome. The G-sync function works just as it should to enhance the picture .The colors are not washed out and look to be very accurate. The screen doesn't show a glare from lighting. The viewing angle is excellent.Whether viewing windows 7 or windows 10, fonts are easy to read.

I have owned this monitor for 3 days. What attracted me was the price, at 450$ and it has G sync. Already has a dead pixel and the color isnt the greatest. To say the least, I'm not impressed and I think I prefer my old 720p 60hz over this

I have had this monitor for close to a month now and all I can say is it is GREAT. Not a bad price for a 144hz 1440p gsync monitor. The picture looks absolutely amazing after making the recommended adjustments. Setup was fast and easy.

Great TN panel and great monitor for the money!

i've had this monitor for just under 2 years and it has very good color accuracy for a TN, insane ms response time, and a really good pixels per inch ratio. I find I can really get into the game with this monitor to the point where even minecraft feels like it's real life. The buttons on the bottom of the display make it very easy to toggle settings and the stand goes almost every way possible and looks very clean. This monitor has vents to let heat out and is very reliable (with this being a dell of course it's reliable.) I haven't had a single problem in my 2 years of having this and think it's a great monitor for mid $300 range!

This monitor (S2716DG) is a fantastic all-around monitor for many purposes. But it's real highlight is while playing games. 1440P resolution with 144hZ refresh rate AND Nvidia G-Sync tech on top of it? Fantastic!

Purchased on 3/18/17 directly from the store. Running on a GTX 1080, using the displayport cable that comes with this monitor. So far everything looks amazing. Have played Ghost Recon Wildlands on Ultra@144hz and it runs smooth.
-No ghosting
-No back-light issues,
-No dead pixels
-No pixel inversion(have applied numerous tests to make sure).
-Colors look amazing(was surprised since this is a TN panel).
I think Dell got around to updating this monitor since I know others have experienced pixel inversion and other image problems.
Looks better than my 2 other monitors which one was an IPS and the other an LED LCD. Info for my old monitors in case anyone needs a comparison of where I'm coming from: IPS panel AOC 23 inch monitor model(I2367F), and LED LCD panel ACER 23 inch monitor model(S230HL).

The best choice for me

This review is on the Dell - 27" LED QHD GSync Monitor - Black. Pro's- great picture, classy build, highly adjustable. Con's- awkward calibration buttons. I picked this up for under $500.00 on 3/17/18 along with a CyberPowerPC - BattleBox Ultimate Desktop - Intel Core i7-8700K - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. I'm smiling ear to ear. It is the revision Ao8. I disabled deep sleep mode right away as I had read about some people having problems "waking" it using Display Port. I also purchased a separate 6'6" VESA certified Display Port 1.2 cable for the best possible picture and performance. It is easy to calibrate in conjunction with the NVIDIA control panel. I definitely recommend this monitor for use with your NVIDIA graphics card. Smooth as silk.

Verry good monitor for when it came out, but with new pannels on the market this one is lack luster for the price. But the monitor itself is still very good: responsive and ok colors

Huge upgrade from 1080

Had an old LG 27 inch from 2012, initially went with a new 27 inch IPS 1080 and despite its excellent reviews noticed next to no difference.
Went with this on sale for the 1440, 144 and 1 ms. Have an older pc which I do not want to upgrade at the moment so GSync a plus as it will not play new AMD cards (legacy bios or mobo?) but no issue with GTX 1070. Went with 2k as well as 4K not going to fly well with 1070 and tiny size with text.
Found 1440 perfect, excellent upgrade over 1080. Agree with all comments that monitor best at its native resolution, looks terrible running at 1080 crystal clear at 1440. Have latest revision and looks great.

Avoid like the Plague

I was hesitant on getting this monitor because of the few one star reviews. After doing research about the display being able to get fixed with some calibration, I figured why not. A mistake that was. First, I received the monitor with 3 dead pixels. Second, after tweaking with the settings of both the monitor and nvidia control panel the picture quality did not even come close to my ASUS VG278HV. which is only 1080p. The font looks blurry, not sharp and the colors are off no matter how many color adjustments were made. I tried looking up preferred display settings for this monitor to help the calibration process, again no luck. Don't be fooled by the 4.7 rating on this "beast."

Seriously this panel checks every box. 27 inch. 1440p 144hz Gsync. The usb passthru is more useful than I imagined it would be.
Colors are great, no ghosting, gsync is boss.

Good monitor, but with severe color banding
Posted .

I gave this monitor a chance, the price was great and i started out loving it. After a day or so and hours our research and calibration\icc profile testing i couldn't eliminate color banding. The colors the monitor produced were amazing and the responsiveness was everything i expected, although I am currently returning this monitor as it is substandard and possibly a faulty panel, I have since decided TN wasnt for me and will be buying the View Sonic XG2703 IPS panel. If you can live with massive amounts of banding this monitor wouldn't be a bad purchase.

So far I am loving this monitor! I did a lot of research before choosing this Dell TN panel and am happy with my choice. It came well packaged and on time. Mine arrived as expected (no quality control issues like dead pixels or backlight issues) and is performing very well. The colors were good out of box however I did calibrate it to improve things a little and now it looks amazing. Gsync works as advertised and I love the thin bezel. Really I can't find anything I don't like. I would highly recommend to a friend.

This monitor was my first higher end one with Gsync, and oh boy does it make a difference! Games are so much smoother, and playing in 1440p is night and day difference than 1080 (obviously). I bought this on sale, and don't regret a single penny on this buy. If you've been looking for a monitor with 1440p, Gysnc, 1ms response, 144hz without going to the higher priced competitors (ASUS, OMEN, etc) then get this. A few color tweeks and you'll be in gaming heaven!
