Simple and reliable external USB DVD Drive which is lightweight and plug and play, ideal for new thin laptops which do not have a cd-rom drive built in. Decent read write speeds and Dell is always a reliable brand with great technical support. I bought an open box item, but it was in mint condition. It does not play bluray discs, but you can't have everything and especially at this low bargain of a price.

This is cheap plastic. I dropped it and it broke. The slide will not work to close the CD.

It didn't work well with my apple products. Don't recommend.

It would have been nice if I knew before buying that this is an older model.

I am really happy with this purchase. The drive works perfectly with my Windows 11 laptop that doesn't have an optical drive. I installed the Cyberlink Media Suite which turned out to be helpful, especially in copying and burning disks. No negatives to report, everything works great!

I have a Windows 10 Professional Dell Desktop Computer My internal player was not working properly with my Windows Media player so decided to try an external player. This one fits the bill perfectly for my needs. I have a huge library of DVDs and CDs. I will be able to enjoy them without hassle. I do have a laptop also; however, I prefer to watch on my desk top, but if I travel, I will be taking this player with me. :) As a matter of fact, my husband was so impressed, that he wants one. I will be purchasing one for his computer very soon.

i recently bought a Lenovo IdeaCentre all in one and there is a DVD on it BUT the burner wasnt working as it should .. i have protection BUT i am disabled and couldnt easily get the computer back to the store because BB should have fixed it for free - I actually ordered an external DVD player from another company because i had a deal and it got here and didnt work so i returned it and purchased this from BB instead ... I received it today - plugged it in and it works perfectly .. I hope i can continue to say that a few months from now but i have protection on this little doohickey too which would be easy to return to the store it was worth it to me not to stress about BB keeping my computer for 3-5 days to install a new burner and be without a computer ... I would highly recommend this Dell burner its perfect and i cant believe lots of computer nowadays dont have DVD/CDs in them ... my friend bought a small tower a weird shape ... it was cute but there is no DVD/CD on it and so many laptops dont have them either ... so this is perfect for that reason

When i think of the Dell DVD / RW drive the overall quality was very good ,it was easy to set up the device and it worked perfectly with no skipping and i was able to upload some music cd's with no incidents, i would recommend this device.

Delivery was super fast, and the drive was literally plug and play. I've had it a couple of months and it works great, no problems. I bought it to archive image files and play cds on my PC, and it does both with little fuss. Completely happy with the drive and Best Buy

Works as it should so far, writes pretty quickly and is not too obnoxiously loud like some I’ve had.

This item will not work for my all-in-one desktop computer. It is made by Hewitt packer, but that is for Dell computers. I guess that’s the reason for this.
