Works great. My car came without a CD drive and so did my laptop. Used this hardware to RIP my music CDs to a USB device that allows me to play my music in my car. Problem solved at a very low cost.

Wow. Got this on sale for less than $20! While DVDs are facing competition from streaming services, some of us still have large collections. This very affordable accessory enables me to continue to watch movies and tv shows on DVDs on my laptop.

This was a perfect purchase for a computer we were told did not have the drive to read disks. It was very quiet, created less sound and fewer vibrations than a previous reader and an internal laptop drive. Turns out our computer did have a disk drive but it was verticle and hidden. Using this on a computer or laptop that already has a drive caused no errors or miscommunication for us. I did not try running disks in both internal and external drives at the same time though. Saving this in the box for when I build my next computer.

Exactly what I needed for easy display of CD contents.

Works perfectly with my Dell laptop. No set up issues and went right to work. Only issue I had is the fact the unit is so light, you have to hold the body to push the tray in to close. But small price to pay for a single wire, lightweight drive to use with my laptop.

I had to invest in an external hard drive since my new Lenovo yoga doesn't have a CD drive. It's very easy to use and a great alternative to an onboard drive.

I bought a new 13" Dell XPS laptop recently. I needed an external CD/DVD drive. It works very well. Price was quite appropriate also. Very satisfied.

Inexpensive little drive, nice and small and easy to set up and use. Perfect solution to my new laptop not being equipped with one.

New computers don't come with a DVD drive or VGA connections. I have the need for both but these products add to the cost. It did fill the need.

I purchased a DELL all in one computer that did not include a DVD player, so I purchased this add on DVD/CD player to use with it. It was a simple plug and play installation by simply plugging into a USB port. The player does not need a separate power source, it uses the USB port for power. I have played movies DVD and CD disks on my computer without any problems with sound or picture.

I bought this instead of a really cheap version from a foreign company, and I'm glad I did. This disc drive is fragile enough as it is, and recoils a lot when opening the tray, so I can only imagine how bad the cheaper one would be. Thankfully everything runs fine. I've tried DVD's and CD's, as well as game discs and all have worked fine. It comes with a media installation disc so you needn't have to worry about not playing movies or anything like that. A bit expensive but if you really want to save internal computer space for other things, yet need CD's/DVD's badly, this is a great purchase.

My new laptop didn't have a disc drive so I picked this jewel up. Love it. Simple plug and play. Works flawlessly

I bought this because I had a program that I wanted to put on my laptop and my homework ran off a CD. It works great for what it is but the short cord and noise can sometimes be a hassle.

It's a really fast drive. It's also quite sturdy. I am ripping all of my CD collection -- quite a task, and it has handled this perfectly. My old drive died after 15 CDs, so having one that actually holds up is great.

Love my DVD+/-RW Drive from Dell...easy to use and really fast!

Happy with this choice. I still have DVD/CD products that can be used on a computer.
