We had to buy this player to replace the internal DVD drive on our laptop after it completely broke down. Since most laptops do not come with the drives internally anymore, we figured we'd buy this one. It was relatively easy to set up, but I did find that I had to install the updated software from the disk that came with it to get it to work properly on our laptop. My wife has several DVDs from other regions that we were very happy to find that this drive would play without an issue!

Battery backups are great and this product is nice as it's slimmer and can be used easier on a counter or floor without being bulky

I wasn't sure about this product before i bought it, but i needed a plug & play DVD read/write to install microsoft office that i had on DVD. I was relieved when all i had to do was plug it in and it was ready with nothing else to do. My newest computer purchase has no DVD drive at all so this was a grest purchase. Works wonderfully
