Connected easily, I had zero problems connecting to my laptop. I began accessing my cd's and DVD's immediately. Would definitely recommend especially for the price alone.

I'd purchased another brand of external drive from a different retailer. About a day later, I thought the price seemed high and checked Best Buy. They had two makes for three-quarters the price of the one I originally bought ... so back it went and I went to Best Buy. This one was not on the shelf, but some rummaging by an assistant in the back room found two of them. This Dell is in a much more robust case than the make I originally purchased, only uses one USB port for power and connection rather than two on the other, and I like the black color much better than the other one's "putty."

Works as advertised. I am no techy and had no problem getting it working.

Laptop was a hard decision. Wanted DVD player. Sales clerk told me about this DVD plug and Play. I was reluctant, however I purchased it. I have only used it once. Due to space on my desk I had to disconnect it. It is easy to re-connect whenever I need to use it. It was a good addition to my laptop. However too much to pack up when transporting laptop. Nice for when needed.

Had to buy one of these for my new desktop that no longer has a built in dvd drive. Needed it to keep loading up my collection of CDs onto my hard drives drives. Works great. Plug in and it played and loaded. Very easy. Watched a dvd as well on this and worked fine also. Have not used it to rip any cd or dvd as I do not do such. Reasonably priced as well.

We purchased 2 Dell DVD+/- RW drives to support our 2 all-in-one computers. Both drives integrated easy via existing USB ports and performed excellently. Highly recommended.

I have had no problems with this product. I think I'm a dinosaur. Why can't we still have the option of downloading our material?? Why must we forced to leave everything we do on the cloud. Freaking tech giants run the world now

Computers don't come with disc drives any more sadly. For those with legacy physical media this is a must. Great grab on deal of the day.

The PC tower I bought doesn't have a DVD/CD drive. This is a perfect addition to my system.
