This Dell Slim USB DVD/RW is light, compact, sturdy and met all of my performance metrics.

This Dell USB Slim DVD+/-RW Drive replaced my old Dell DVD/CD player that had died, and works great. The only issue is that you need a USB Female to USB-C adapter to use with newer computers & laptops that don’t have a regular USB port.

Computers rarely come with DVD/CD players today, and since they're rarely used, it's nice to have a portable DVD/CD player around for when you do need it.

With new computers for wife and my I neither has a built in CD/DVD drive. This one works like a charm. Small enough it fits into almost any little space on the desk and doesn't take up much space when my wife wants to take her laptop to family's house to get or drop-off new photos.
